collateral damage

The bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki was it justified?

War is is a dirty business and yet it seems man never learns.

Does anyone feel that we're yet again heading to a possible extinction of mankind?

Note: if in fact, our earth is billion of years old, was it possible to have achieved such a technological marvel that killed mankind once or many a times?

Just curious.

Thanks all for your reads or comments if any.

Collateral is not acceptable..but inevitable..Collateral damage was acceptable in Vietnam..killing a million and creating disabled people to an estimated count of 150k..over 2 decades..
Ian you mean we would have them just killing and torturing until all of us are killed?

That is not making two wrongs right. That is to end all that is wrong.

When countries engage in a war, there are always going to be the vanquished and the victor. I am glad we won it.
Yes Lindsy, it's just a sad fact of life..humans just seem to have his inherent ability to be cruel and barbaric..for what? Power? Ego? Greed?
Unless we evolve and develop a ' peace-gene', I guess it will never change until we ultimately destroy ourselves.
On a lighter note, I like your new profile photo! applause
LJ...the killing of innocent people is winning ?....Glad we won..you mean America...you was a child living in the Philppines were you not ?
LJ..you keep mentioning the brutalities of Japan..

Would you care to list the brutalities your new found country has committed since WW11 ?

The US is and has been the largest terroist group for decades..you just chose to ignore it.
Ian, stay with the topic will you? I wasn't born yet if that is your point. All my uncles and mom were all veteran serving the US Army.

My grand father is one of the first to have been asked to work in Hawaii after the war. We were tributary to the US and until today, all our lands, my dad particularly on the land title, it says: US of America.

But what difference does it make? We are all on here discussing about the relevance of the action taken as needed. War is a war. Someone starts it and someone has to end it. Either one, on this case, I would rather that I am part of the winning team as the world would have been in a different shape. Read the comment of cruiser and if you don't understand that, I don't know why you are even on here.

You ask this question: Are there acts that define barbarism in our world today? Tell me about what is right and wrong and who does it, then we go from there.

Ideally, there should be no war, killing, terrorism, etc. etc. Is it the case? Why? Can you answer that?sad flower
do you know why Japan hit pearl harbor ?
I am not in denial as to what is done by whose country and not. Yet there is a line of where it starts. I am proud to say, that I know that America just doesn't go and kill people, if that is your point.

I don't need to enumerate the involvement of the US in the current wars, but don't limit your perceptions to what you hear. Take the facts. About Afghanistan, Hussein, and now the ISIS.

This is not pointing out what is your country, or my country and or the countries of the world has done.

This post is about learning what we can to stop all these non sense. If we can.sad flower
What a joke you are Ian. What I know is based on what is written that is fact. They hit Pearl Harbor as a part of the Axis, blitskreig, to decapitate the US and rightly so, or they would have no ground. Let's just say to handicap the Allies.

Have you even read all the post? To stay bearing on the direction of this topic?
I suggest you should read all them. Thank you.

Anyways, maybe you don't know but that spies had been planted in the Hawaii long before the war started which goes to show that Japan had been eyeing intently on that possibility. Not to mention that they badly wanted to own Hawaii.
..and so it began after ww11..collateral damage that has lasted 7 decades with the interference of the US..your still winning..and then you all get upset because the Muslims had had enough and hit the twin towers.

Heard the term..you reap what you sow ?
You see is the US had not got involved..like they do..they would not have attacked
I am sure all those enumerated dates are copied of which I have no doubt you copied from where? Please be respectable of intellectual rights will you?
Now you are going off topic..the US would not have entered the war..if not for Japan hitting them..

FYI LJ...in my office in Bahrain is another office..it happens to be Delarno Roosevelt office,he works for us..Franklins grandson.

He is very interesting to talk to..and has some very interesting stories..of what the US gets upto..
here is his linkin page

I work for Reza hygiene..part of the group....Im there field service manager..need any other proof..?
no be a good little green card immigrant...and go look some Adobo..rolling on the floor laughing
Wow, where the hell did you get the idea that I am greed card immigrant? My grandfather was a citizen right of the bat. I was born and grew up in the Philippines because my dad was the youngest and stayed on to tend the land..I was an immigrant, which has no relevance to this topic. You are so out of your head and I feel so sorry for those Filipinos that you employ. How many? 2,000?sad flower
One time you say they are good and hard working people, at times now this. I am sorry for you Ian, really, not them. I am glad they are not with you anymore then. You should read the book published in San Francisco about the different ethnics work ethic, etc. We the Filipinos stand on top of any other world group. I will research it and send it to you.

Anyways, be good to yourself Ian then you can be good to others.sad flower
..extinction of mankind is possibly the best thing that could happen to this planet..it doesn't need us.
I am not that pessimist. I still believe in humanity but with what is happening, it just might happen. It doesn't take a genius or a miracle to save our one and only earth. Just simple as a thought of kindness and unity. But greed and power make man blind Ian, and unfortunately the leaders of the world do engage in this competition of who is more powerful and more greedy..Very sad.sad flower
Geez, let's call it a draw guys ! comfort
I am for it Robby. Thanks for your intervention..rolling on the floor laughing cheering wine
