Male & Female Cultural Roles

Women are beautiful but can be very complex creatures, the masculine and feminine traditional and cultural roles began in the hunter gatherer societies in the Paleolithic era, man hunted and provided and the women did the gathering, cleaned out the cave and had babies.

The roles were seen as:-
Female: To nurture
Male: To provide

Now the main traditional cultural ideas are different to a certain extent:-

Female: Has fluid gender communication and overlapped roles.
Male: Masculine toughness and clear but overlapping gender roles.

So where does feminism come into the equation? And why do we now have feminazis? (feminists who are perceived as extreme or radical)

Feminists: Support women’s rights and gender equality, they are open-minded and educated, they like men, don’t practice witchcraft or simply become lesbians.

Feminazis: Believe in female domination, are closed minded, are often ugly and think every male is a rapist and are more often than not lesbians.

As we are CS people come from a lot of different cultures and backgrounds, what are the thoughts in your Country and what do you believe to be the perfect Male/Female roles?

i'm a femaninny, one who doesn't take male dominance seriously. it's a growing group of women. we don't usually wear bras or "trim" and like to watch our "lady shows" along with "to catch a predator".
I still prefer the main traditional roles. Maybe it's because I know I'd never earn as much as the kids' dad? dunno
To cook, clean and make her way from the kitchen to the bedroom,...doh
Plus your rubbish at cooking Mimi,..rolling on the floor laughing
Dream, when I go out braless, i wear a shirt with a busy pattern in the front so you can't see the shape underneath.

More questions Map

What are the male 'clear but overlapping gender roles.'?

Sorry to sound like I am feminist here (I don't believe in any labels, by the way, but that is a different topic) but I just want clarity in my head about this topic professor
Molly, Overlapping gender roles such as House husbands and childcare to more advanced roles such as Fire Brigade and the Military, So generally removing the gender stereotypes and having the woman as the head of the household or even the old "limitations of the workforce" being removed.
daears, I dont think you will be single much longer with that attitude!
Map, it seems many men feel isolated by equality in the home and workplace.

Would that be a fair statement to make?
Molly, Just my opinion, but some men may feel isolated by equality in the home and workplace if he works in a female dominated office with a female boss and at home if he felt his masculinity had been eroded due to unemployment or just having a brighter more career orientated wife.

But, Females will also feel socially isolated in a male dominated workplace even if the company has a firm equal rights policy.
Molly beautiful. I too couldn't care less in male or female dominated areas. I treat everyone as equal. This they feel that vibe and i become part of that world no matter it male or female. No better way to understand equal rights in my books
daears, I hear you, Men are just as capable at home as women, I actually did my own housework and made jam yesterday, only because my female cleaner didn't show up, but I am capable, At work I am a storm trooper that makes the SS look like kindergarten kiddies.
Good man. Be proud.
daears every single word you have uttered I agree withmoping so as map says thats why were both single.grin

Of course in my life i have met extremes in each genderroll eyes they are a pain in my ashlaugh laugh

I see young women now doing toatal reverse though. Once upon a time women needed males to do their share at home. What a fight that wasdoh

Now it is complete reversal (with )some women they would trip over their dogs dirt and not even realizing it need cleaning up.
I AM WORKING I HEAR THEIR CRY laugh laugh

Life is funny though yes I poeple watch these days peace yay banana
Molly, I dont think straight men could become hairdressers or fashion consultants, We are not good with colours, can't use scissors etc, I think there has to be more of a female chromosome in them for that.

Red, You will certainly have seen some changes especially in the North of England, men worked in the coal mines or fishing, now these jobs dont exist and they will be looking after the home while the missus works at Tesco.
Lol classic Red. Lol. Watching men whom are hungry and looking in cupboards with no clean dishes or utensils etc and wondering how to turn on oven to cook frozen food or wash dishes is really funny too lol lol.
Wowww Dears, just the man I want! hug kiss

Hiya Map. wave
For the record, the best hairdresser I've ever had was a straight, married man with 3 children. So yes, straight men make awesome hairdressers.
Unl, They are not my labels, Just wondering what people think, I know the old Afrikaner ways were very much neanderthal.
Hi Gypsy, There is nothing wrong with being the nurturing type, you can still be yourself and independant at the same timehug
Jim, You maybe right!
They were and in many cases, still are. Thankfully, it's getting a lot better.
Why are women politicians and leaders always targeted for their looks/clothes, figure, etc?

That is a sure sign of somebody who do not believe truly in equality. And women as well as men are guilty of this.

Judge it totally on their experience/ policies/hell, even their personalities, but attacking them on their natural looks and gender is pretty pathetic.
Molly, Im reeling from that virtual slap, I do think its not a gender issue but more of a presence and the aura the politician (for example) will show to the voters, Trump's hair a classic.

I have noticed the UK papers mentioning how the politicians look and dress, Teresa May needing a makeover and stylist has more coverage than her politics.
Molly, you are right on. However, I don't believe judging Hillary's outfits is necessarily judging her as a person. She's done plenty to warrant wariness by her actions. Those actions are not necessarily any more ruthless than what her male counterparts have done.... but, that doesn't make it okay, at least in my book.
Gypsy, Great comment, Shows its not just gender and clothing but actions that will make or break a politician or anyone else for that matter.hug
