Old news I know, but not for me.
In a room in Dublin, a man nicknamed "Dr Death" is teaching people how to die. A dozen people are here to plan their suicides.
On a screen, poisonous substances are ranked in order of convenience, availability and painfulness.
Dr Death sits at the front of the room, not facing directly at his audience - almost as if it's too hard to look them in the eye. But they clearly have no inhibitions about being there.
One woman says she has traveled from Singapore for this. The audience is made up mainly of elderly people - many have seen friends and family die in horrific ways.
Their host promises an answer for their desperation. In vivid detail, he describes how their final moments could offer something different. It sounds too good to be true.
Apparently the substance leaves no trace of it in the body after death.
I never knew such a service existed.
Is this a good or bad choice?
Maybe I'm a coward but I strongly believe, while there's life there's hope.
is to not become hateful yourself.
just a thought
In life, I have experienced a lot of difficulties. I have a good personality: perceverance. I would also cry when I was beat up by the difficulties, but i will scrape off the tears, keep on dealing with the difficulties. If I have a belief, I will need a lot of solid proof to persuade me to give up my own idea. But when i make a decision, I would not regret even I have losses in that decision. I decide it, that's it. I will pay what I decide.
wish you'd tell me what things are important to you about the place where you stay
Do you insist everything be five star, including your own private pool / sauna / 24 hour service
or do you stay in hostels and hope the other 9 in the room won't snore too loudly, keeping your cash to spend on your activities
While I was travelling in the campervan I stayed at campsites with communal showers and loos, but private hedges around each campsite, rather liked that although it had never occurred to me to ask for my own garden in a hotel
I went to Germany last year for a few days and booked the cheapest hotel I could find, turned out not to be the best area but transport into town was frequent and reliable, the room was clean, and the shared bathrooms on each floor were spotless. I got what I paid for, basically.
Apparently most people have MUCH higher standards, Would love it you'd tell me what things are important to you when you're planning a brief getaway - lavish surroundings, or convenient location, or proximity to tourist stuff, whether you like to be out and about and just want a place to sleep, or whether you want to be cossetted and pampered ...
Just something that crossed my mind...what if the internet itself is like a form of AI and it is...well, I won't say controlling us, but maybe has some control over us.
Think about how much it influences us in our lives.
If you think about it, it is sort of bringing us into an alternative reality.
Perhaps even controlled by some sort of artificial intelligence....if you consider how many bots they claim are on Twitter.
Gradually, we are being taken away from the scent of a flower, a view of a river flowing....to listen to podcasts, check our social media accounts....addicted to our phones.
We are becoming immersed. We own nothing...and are happy.
Asking attention from others will disappoint one endlessly. Change the thought pattern and life will change into a magic ride. Once the chakras are open the world looks friendly and gives you all the attention you can ask for, since the need for attention has been eliminated. A wonderful discourse.?
