Immortality

Do we become immortal when our name and date of birth and death become engraved in a granite stone?

If you think about what stands the test of time.

Would you write your most important bit of wisdom on your stone for the future of humanity (provided there is a future of humanity)?

So...immortality is real then.

Validity of Freewill

Freewill can be considered one's choices they want to make.

What happens when you don't have any choices or no resources to implement them?

flow of life

The flow of life has been disrupted. For some, they will have no choice and to make a new path given all of the newly realized light they have been blinded from of the hustle and bustle of life. While others, have yet to recognize this light. But, in time, it will shine. However, there are those that want to remain blind. They have chosen to become distracted whether it through alcohol, drugs, or something else to have their minds pre-occupied. But what we all must realize we are all in the same boat.

Love is a powerful healer.
We are the makers of our destiny.
...we must first see where we are before we can steer our ships correctly down beautiful roads...

Happy Saturday night/Sunday all.

The vow

I have just finished watching 'the vow' about sex cult in the states masquerading as a type of self help group. In it women are portrayed as entitled princesses and men as protectors who basically resent the women.it seems that by categorizing both sexes as such, both sexes feel shame, anyone any thoughts on this concept or the series in general?

Smoker...

The guy in the condo across from me is a heavy smoker. He often sits in his screened porch that faces the courtyard puffing away and doing business. Semi-retired, he does handyman projects from time-to-time. In the past few days (probably due to the rain) he paces the covered walkway... smoking.

The guy below him, also retired, listens to music on his porch... also puffing away.
Anywhere from 6am until midnight, there's a really good chance the courtyard and balcony will have the smell of cigarette smoke.

Usually, I walk along the main road in the evening... after 11pm and sometimes I smell fresh cigarette smoke. A few of the residents smoke cigars. Most of these smokers are over the age of 60... at that age they have no intentions of quitting.

This morning, I got up earlier than usual and decided to do a brisk walk... along more than 200 condos facing the roadway and found it surprising as the smell of 'morning cigarettes' was every few hundred feet.

I lost a friend earlier this year. A drummer who started playing in the 60's. I remember in high school one summer my parents let my band to use the house for practice. He was allowed to stay at my house for a few weeks and smoked a cigarette seconds before going to sleep and seconds after waking up. Cause of death: lung cancer.

Condo living is not for me and I've been shopping for another place to live. Preference would be a small house, cottage or townhouse... somewhere away from smokers.

a man's story..

I was recently listening to a man. He is about my age, a few years ago him and his wife broke up...she cheated on him. In the meanwhile, he reports that his ex-wife has been with at least 100 different men, including his closest friends.

He goes on to tell me about when they met. She had nothing, not even a place to live. She had a family that wanted nothing to do with her. She had an infant child who her own mother was going to testify in court that she was not fit to be a parent and the father obtain full custody.

He continues by saying, all the years while they were together...he gave her a roof over her head, gave her a comfortable home he built with his bare hands in the cold of winter. He paid her child support and provided her with everything she needed to survive. He taught her how to drive and helped her to get her driver's license. He never laid a finger on her what so ever.

He tells me, I am sure you have your life story as well.

He closes by saying that no longer is he going to let a woman abuse him.

I felt for that guy.

Can you name the 2 breeds shown?

There is a bull (not shown) laying down by the trees. Can you make it to the building?

Strangely the local coyotes seem to avoid this field. They probably know Darwin lives there.

In the West they call folks who live with these critters Cowboys. In the East they are just a Hillbilly.

Hillbillys own many cool toys.

This one, a neighbors, is fairly old (as the stamped marks on the trunnion imply), but it still throws a 6 (7 actually) pound shell over a mile easily and does so at least twice a year.

Thanks to Covid19 I am laid off from my job making coffee at the 7-11, so I am passing the time making my own small (it will be a 1 pounder) yard cannon out of some 1040 steel scrap. The barrel is done and now I am building a collared trunnion of 4" S7 steel bar scrap. Everyone should have a hobby that is fun.
