Where Are You Politically?
Church and politics. I avoid them both religiously. Unfortunately, I can no more separate myself from politics than humans can separate themselves from nature.
It's just not possible.
It's up to me to do what I can to find out what is really going on. The internet helps, but as you may have noticed, there is much untruth on the web.
I needed a simple device to help me orient myself in a confusing blizzard of contradictory information. Taking inspiration from modern physics, I sought clarity through higher dimensionality.
The traditional political spectrum is a one dimensional line, and apparently has had a "Left" and a "Right" since the French Revolution (Post-royalty, the conservative elements, clergy and surviving nobility, sat to the right of the President while the more reactionary citizens, you and me, sat to the left.
Here I drew the spectrum using contemporary terminology. I leave you to decide where along the line that you are proud to be.
If you grasp the 2 ends of the line and bend the line into a circle, you now have a two dimensional representation.
Now where are you proud to be?
If you look at politics in the west in general and the US in particular, the extreme left does not really exist anymore. It has been effectively lopped off thanks to the Cold War.
No such pruning has been done on the right, a circumstance that is most evident in the American 2-party system. Much to the dismay of the Republican party, there is only one place for the right wing nutters to go and that is the Republican party.
Even though I don't pay much attention, I still feel that I'm being bombarded with badness. Loss of freedoms, falling standard of living, enemies on all sides and within. It's like a combination of Joseph McCarthy and Weapons of Mass Destruction.

I do rather think you misjudged the mood of the electorate when you called for a general election..
Although I didn't vote for your party, I want to wish you the best of British luck as our PM, (You're gonna need it).
I am confidant that in the days to come your fellow Tory MP's will all rally behind you. Unfortunately for you this will be so they can, (metaphorically) stab you in the back.
You must know by now that your credibility as a leader lies in tatters around you. Your personal power trip is ending,If you haven't already, you will soon become aware of the dark whispers in the corridors of parliament, As the power plays, and maneuverings, go on around you, and just out of sight, plans for the assassination of your political career are being drawn up.
Personally I would look forward to watching you squirm and wriggle as you wait for the blade to fall, (It's going to be a bloodbath.), unsure of which, of your most trusted colleagues will be the one to shaft you first.
That said, I would willingly forgo my personal pleasure in seeing you, (as the saying goes,), "being thrown under the bus" and would applaud your actions, if you gracefully, (for the good of the country of course), stood down now rather than wait for you own personal "ides of March" to come around

Election Day Advice
Election day is fast approaching and I am sure most have decided who they are voting for in this election. I felt compelled to say something from the heart and hope that it is heard and understood. This election is not like any other election. I feel we are faced with having to choose between two great evils. There is no lesser of two evils for this one. Sorry.
I am sure we have all heard the addage: "The lesser of two evils". Personally, why are we even choosing evil even in the lesser form. Evil is evil, no doubt about it. I don't know about you but I'd rather have a good person for president. We as a people should stop complaining about the president and congress. If you elected people on the basis of the lesser of two evils, then why are you surprised this country is in bad shape. As it stands: In 2015, USA was ranked 28th for healthcare and now in 2016 is ranked 37th. Hmmm. Then there is the jobs, seems we are 19th in the ranking. Hmm. We're 20th in education. Going over the reports and seeing the top 10, I noticed a pattern of "no standardized test". Interesting. And 33rd for environment. Hmmm. You sure you still want to pick the lesser of two evils. I know we are not these other countries but our so called genius here aren't getting the job done. It's time for either new ideas or look at how other countries are doing it and try to shape it to the way we do things here. It's obvious the Department of Education needs to go as they are not doing our kids any real favors. We don't always have to be #1 but maybe strive to be the best we can be and lead a good life. Just saying.
I know everyone has a right to pick who they want to vote for in the election. But don't you think we deserve a morally ethically way of campaigning? My suggestion would be to limit the candidates to their voting record. That's what they should be defending, why they voted they way they did. No more mud slinging. Each candidate should focus on the positive things they voted for. Now if there are candidates that have no held office yet, moderator can bring up something that was voted on and ask the candidate simply, how would they vote on this and why. I see this process as nothing difficult. And as moderators, I think there should be time to be alloted to where we as a country rank in the world on things like: healthcare, jobs, crime, education, etc. Then ask how they would fix the things where we are really ranked low on. Just saying.
With all that said, lets just avoid the democrats and republicans as we all can see nothing is gonna change with them. I say vote 3rd party. I'd like to suggest Green Party candidate Jill Stein. This woman took the time, unlike other politicians, and went to North Dakota. She showed great courage and supported those who are protecting everyones right to clean water. Unfortunately, the peaceful protestors like those of old are being harmed and harrassed by greedy companies and a government that turns a blind eye. I applaude Stein for doing the right thing. Maybe it's time for a fresh approach on government. You can't keep picking between two parties that will do whatever they want once they get into office. Yet you expect a different result. It's insane way of doing things. Like I said, let's give the 3rd party a chance to show what they can do.We all know what the other two are capable of doing.

At the end of last month, with the midterms looming, I gave a talk before a small private audience in California in which I argued for optimism because—among other things—the moment for firing Robert Mueller had passed.
Eighteen months ago, I said, President Trump had an opportunity to disrupt the Russia investigation: He had fired the FBI director and had rocked the Justice Department back on its heels. But Trump had dithered. He had broadcast his intentions too many times. And in the meantime, Mueller had moved decisively, securing important indictments and convictions, and making whatever preparations were necessary for hostile fire. And now Democrats were poised to take the House of Representatives. The window of opportunity was gone.
In the 48 hours since Trump fired Jeff Sessions and installed Matthew Whitaker as acting attorney general, I have had occasion to wonder if I was being overly optimistic a week ago. Whitaker is the kind of bad dream from which career Justice Department officials wake up at night in cold sweats. He’s openly political. The president is confident in his loyalty and that he won’t recuse himself from the investigation—notwithstanding his public statements about it and his having chaired the campaign of one of the grand jury witnesses. There are legal questions about his installation at the department’s helm. And he’s known as the White House’s eyes and ears at Justice.
It’s bad—very bad.
All of which leads Philip Lacovara, who served in the Watergate special prosecutor’s office, to conclude that it was Mueller, not Trump, who missed his moment. Writing in The Washington Post, Lacovara worries that “by waiting until after the midterms to issue his final report about President Trump’s possible culpability, Mueller has effectively missed his market and may have doomed the investigation.” With Sessions gone and Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein no longer in charge of the investigation, Lacovara writes,
The new attorney general, whether it is Whitaker or someone else, will be free to constrain Mueller’s investigation and suppress the special counsel’s findings: Any report by Mueller must go to the attorney general, who decides what, if anything, to do with it. Sessions’s replacement will be far more comfortable suppressing the report now that firmer Republican control of the Senate protects not only Trump but also the new attorney general from any risk of being ousted in a post-impeachment trial.
Democrats have much to celebrate about the midterms, but their elation should be tempered by the realization that the election also may have spelled the end for Mueller’s Russia investigation, which was too long in getting to the punchline.
Leave aside for now the question of whether Lacovara’s critique is fair to Mueller. To assess, after all, whether Mueller should have moved faster, one would have to know more about the state of his investigation than I, at least, know. Lacovara is certainly correct about one big thing: The prospects for interference with the Mueller investigation went up dramatically with Whitaker’s appointment.
Yet that said, I stand by my conclusion. I am still, if only tentatively, of the belief that the prospects for interference are dimmer than fear and panic and another Trump-busted norm has us imagining. Three statewide races in Florida are headed to a recount and all depend on results from a county whose supervisor of elections has a history of losing ballots and breaking laws by allowing illegal immigrants and felons to vote, as well as illegally destroying ballots.
Broward County supervisor of elections Brenda Snipes’ office has admitted “they don’t know” how many ballots there are still to count.
Snipes’ latest failure to finalize Tuesday’s election returns days after the polls closed is also in violation of Florida law, which requires elections officials to “report all early voting and all tabulated vote-by-mail results to the Department of State within 30 minutes after the polls close. Thereafter, the canvassing board shall report, with the exception of provisional ballot results, updated precinct election results to the department at least every 45 minutes until all results are completely reported.”
