The real deal regarding Hunter Biden
Hunter Biden is not just the son of VP Joe Biden, but a highly accomplished individual long before his father became VP. He graduated law school and was appointed by GW Bush on the board of Amtrack. He started several hedge funds and lobbying groups. The man has been very well paid by several companies and is currently married to a South African film maker.
Apparently, the current attempt by Trump to smear Joe Biden's campaign in connection to his son Hunter has no merit.

The president himself might not quite realize it yet, and he probably doesn’t understand why it happened. But he has lost that conflict, and the reason is simple: His attempts to fight Mueller were so ham-handed and so public that it made it impossible for him and his administration to shut Mueller down.
The president is simply incapable of subtlety and judges everything by how it plays out in the media. But in this case, the more attention he drew to his rage at Mueller, the greater the consequences of moving against Mueller became. And now it’s too late.
Look, for example, at the way he handled Attorney General Jeff Sessions. It was precisely because Trump complained publicly so many times that he was livid with Sessions for recusing himself from the Russia probe — which made it clear that he wanted Sessions to oversee it so Sessions could shut it down — that it became impossible to fire Sessions before the midterm elections. Those public statements created a situation where firing Sessions would create a backlash from Republican senators and a huge media scandal, since Trump himself had all but said it would be for the purpose of obstructing justice.
It was July 2017, sixteen months ago, when Trump told the New York Times that if he had known Sessions would recuse himself from the Russia investigation he never never would have hired him. But it was that very statement that made it so much harder to do what what he wanted and fire Sessions. So months passed while Mueller was diligently working away — amassing evidence, turning witnesses and handing down indictments — and Trump could fire Sessions only after the midterms were over.
Then when he finally did it, Trump once again acted without any subtlety or understanding of how his moves would be interpreted publicly, installing Matthew Whitaker as acting attorney general likely in no small part because of Whitaker’s apparent hostility to the Mueller investigation. But Whitaker became so controversial so quickly that it’s now impossible for him to fulfill Trump’s wishes without, once again, causing a huge media scandal. Whitaker now seems to feel that his hands are tied on this matter; the AP reports that “Whitaker told Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham in a meeting on Thursday that special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation will proceed.”
And now, Republicans in the Senate are pushing the administration to find a new attorney general who can be confirmed quickly — which means someone who will pledge in their confirmation hearings not to interfere in the Mueller investigation:
Even after Trump’s latest attack on Mueller in a flurry of tweets Thursday, most Republicans argue the president will not fire Mueller or derail his investigation because the political consequences would be too great.
But they said that naming an attorney general nominee as soon as possible — specifically one who would vow to preserve the Russia probe — would go a long way in halting legislative momentum to protect Mueller and Democratic messaging that acting attorney general Matt Whitaker will undermine the investigation.
“If we had some confidence that there is somebody nominated that would be confirmed in a reasonable period of time, to me it seems like it would relieve a lot of the controversy,” said Senate Majority Whip John Cornyn of Texas, who predicted that Whitaker, who was openly critical of the Mueller probe before Trump tapped him for the job, is “not going to be there long.”

Like many of you, I caught bits and pieces of Blasey Ford and Judge Kavanaugh on Thursday. Overall, I'd say that Kavanaugh won the day.
My problem with Blasey Ford is her story. Something happened but she does not where or when. She can't prove beyond a reasonable doubt that it was Kavanaugh that night. She thinks it was but no investigation can be done on the basis of this shallow story.
Gladly, we live in a country where we don't destroy people for fuzzy memories from 30-something years ago.
As for Judge Kavanaugh, he closed the deal with a very heartfelt presentation. I kept looking at his wife and feeling so sorry for her and their two daughters. Yes, time will pass, but these girls will be haunted forever. Is it too much to think that some college professor out there will talk about "Kavanaugh the gang rapist"?

Trump’s DC Judge Worked For Law Firm That Employed Hunter Biden, Lobbied For Burisma
U.S. District Judge Tanya Chutkan of Washington, D.C., the judge overseeing former President Donald Trump’s case in the district, previously worked at a law firm that once employed Hunter Biden and worked closely with Ukrainian energy firm Burisma.
Chutkan spent 12 years working for Boies, Schiller, & Flexner LLP (BSF) where she specialized in white collar litigation and antitrust defense, before she was nominated to her current position by former President Obama, her official bio states.
Chutkan worked at other private sector law firms and served as a public defender in Washington D.C. prior to her tenure at BSF. She graduated from George Washington University and the University of Pennsylvania law school.
“Perhaps as important as all the skillsets that she has, she is a person of just consummate decency,” Don Flexner said in December 2013 when Chutkan was nominated, the Legal Times previously reported. “I think she will be a welcome addition to the bench in Washington.”
Hunter Biden worked for BSF in the same year he was appointed to Burisma’s board in April 2014. Hunter quickly brought BSF partners into the fold to assist Burisma with its efforts to influence U.S. officials, according to emails on Hunter Biden’s laptop.
In April 2014, Hunter Biden and business associate Devon Archer spoke about how BSF could give them “protection” and work with government officials on Burisma’s behalf.
“BSF can actually have direct discussions at state, energy and NSC. They can devise a media plan and arrange for legal protections and mitigate US domestic negative press regarding the current leadership if need be,” Biden told Archer.
“The contract should begin now- not after the upcoming visit of my guy. That should include a retainer in the range of 25k p/m w/ additional fees where appropriate for more in depth work to go to BSF for our protection. Complete separate from our respective deals re board participation,” Biden added.
Shortly after his correspondence with Archer, Biden set up a call with BSF partners including Christopher Boies and Heather King, the emails show.
King communicated with the State Department on behalf of Burisma founder Mykola Zlochevsky and strategized with Burisma on how to handle the press and influence government officials, emails from May 2014 indicate. She suggested Burisma hire professional lobbyists, a PR firm and an investigative research firm to bolster its influence operation, per the emails.
Trump was indicted Tuesday in Washington, D.C. by Department of Justice (DOJ) Special Counsel Jack Smith for allegedly interfering in the 2020 presidential election and his alleged involvement in the Jan. 6th, 2021 Capitol riot. Trump announced the indictment on Truth Social right before the news broke.
“This is nothing more than the latest corrupt chapter in the continued pathetic attempt by the Biden Crime Family and their weaponized Department of Justice to interfere with the 2024 Presidential Election,” the Trump campaign said in a statement.
“President Trump will not be deterred by disgraceful and unprecedented political targeting!”

Trump was indicted Tuesday in Washington, D.C. by Department of Justice (DOJ) Special Counsel Jack Smith for allegedly interfering in the 2020 presidential election and his alleged involvement in the Jan. 6th, 2021 Capitol riot. Trump announced the indictment on Truth Social right before the news broke.
“This is nothing more than the latest corrupt chapter in the continued pathetic attempt by the Biden Crime Family and their weaponized Department of Justice to interfere with the 2024 Presidential Election,” the Trump campaign said in a statement.
“President Trump will not be deterred by disgraceful and unprecedented political targeting!”
