fortune/misfortune

Strangely....or maybe not? I don't even have an Amazon account...well, none that I know of anyway. But just a couple of days ago I open a package from them. It is a gift, a book, Marcus Aurelius Meditations.

About a third of the way through it, I have found myself immersed in it.

I have not had much time to digest all of what I have read but enough to get me thinking a bit...something I would like to share here anyway.

It is about fortune and misfortune.

One person's fortune may turn out to be another's misfortune...and later be the initial person's misfortune in the end.

Likewise, one person's misfortune may be another's fortune...and later be the initial person's fortune in the end.

If that is the case, does fortune and misfortune really exist?

The book says, to my understanding anyway, to be truly happy, we need to discover an inner tranquility within ourselves. The external things are always changing....and warns against protecting your perceived self-worth with things such as: pleasure, pain, passion, wealth, fame, etc....

As a side note:

I found it interesting how the book mentions how everything today is the seed for tomorrow and how everything before was the seed for today.

and...

How it says life is an opinion.

Thank you Amazon for the book. :)

Done it again

Well, I guess that this just proves once again that I'm none too bright.

I know. A lot of you on here have already suspected that to be the case.

I wasn't going to say anything about this to anyone because I should know better
by now.

My father used to say, 'too soon old, and too late smart' But I never listened.

Here's the story;

I sent an e-mail to a lady with a new profile a few days ago. (Why not?)
She actually answered me within an hour. (So far, so good!)
This lead to a flurry of back and forth of about 60 e-mails. (Potential!)
She was in the right age group. She was in my preferred size, shape and culture. (Happy happy)
Idiot boy Vikingson was starting to get some feelings back in an old cold heart. (Stupid)
This morning, her profile disappeared. (Damn)

I really don't know what to think. I don't know if she's real and I scared her off, or if she's a fraud and got caught before she closed the web........

If she's real, and if she's timid, and if she sneaks back on here and reads this, I hope she writes to me.

Pay caution to the wind...

Usually when someone says my mate has a problem ...blah ..blah ..blah..can you help him ? there never was a mate or (pet) to begin with but after presenting oneself as a confident image they then deny themselves the right
to be honest therefore cannot speak about an insecurity they may well have as this isn't at all in fitting with their fake personality they've created for themselves otherwise known as "alter ego." It must be like splitting your personality and who you are in two. This site offers the perfect opportunity for that ,Ugly becomes hansome, too fat becomes Athletic a cripple can become a 100 metre sprinter, a poor man doesn't have to be poor anymore, a geeky little wimp can be the big man he never was and the man down on his luck with women becomes the womaniser who had more than his fair share I mean (a man changing into a woman as complicated as may be simply becomes the lady he never was.The list is endless and please don't let your imaginations run wild .This was just an awareness blog created from my own observations.cheers

Narcissism and the internet

I encourage bloggers to google The Internet Narcissism epidemic Its a well known fact, that Narcissists use the internet as a tool to inflate their imaginary Grandiose image of themselves,I have seen a few endless lengthy blogs here,Narcissists try and inflate their ego using Subtle Pride,eg:by telling everyone, how wise they are, don't fall for it,some say "I'm only here for the Blogs this again this gives them a feeling of Superiority,Please Google the Narcissist Personalty Disorder they are not nice people NPD is a mental disorder, and remember Knowledge is Power, heres to dealing with real people,I expect criticism because when you criticise a Narcissist you are just worthless, they respond with anger ann disdain and more. November 11

Yet another Veteran's Day, as it's known in the US of A, or Remembrance Day as it's revered in Canada, has arrived.
Originally the day was designed to celebrate and remember the fallen soldiers of the first world war. Later it became inclusive of the fallen from all wars, and today venerates all who fought or were involved in conflict for their countries en toto.
However, please understand something very important.
Some of us, perhaps many of us, do not wish to remember.
Some of us spend our lives trying to forget.

An overly experienced soldier told me many years ago, over a coffee in the mess, to wipe that grin off my face. He said you can go to war, but you can't ever go home.
I thought that he was pretty negative, because surely most came home. I saw and knew many who had come home over the years.
When I came home, I found out what he really meant.
Home was different, or perhaps, I had changed.
I could not forget what I had seen or the things that I had done.
We all react differently.
Some of us live under bridges.
Some of us drink ourselves to death.
Some of us take drugs to stop the pain.
Some of us dig in and try to do anything that we can do to fix the problems and pay back the debt that we feel that we've incurred by our actions.

Can we please end this madness?

May I come home now?:

nice to help someone in need.

It,s so nice to help someone in need.
I know i,ve bin banging on about posative and negative but I,m trying to priech posative thinking to the negative people here.

I used to criticise everything in the past and felt really bad afterwards.Turned to alchohol in my negativity for many years it takes you nowhere.

I was out the other night and one of my talented musitions friends was doing a gig and he was struggling on stage he,s a solo act singer guitare

He beconded me by a hand movment to come up on the stage and whispered" dave sing a few songs I,m hung over and I feel bad .

So I sang 3 songs and "whisperd Kia say your having a short break which he did"

He got some food down him and plenty of water and came back and we did a couple of songs as a duet.

Later when heed finished he thanked me for helping him when he was in trouble "any I can do for you" he said.
I said" kia it was a pleasure helping you when YOU WERE IN NEED".
