Searching far and wide

So here I am talking about looking for the best match but it seems in reality you can't find that real match the reality is that everyone or every thing is broken nothing is unbroken and you will have to fix your way into a relationship but it's worth the challenge when the person is going to be yours, keep searching far and wide you never know what the future holds for you.

Wait, what's happening?

I made a very, very long post on Facebook a while back, where I told people, that I had applied for 400 jobs, without hearing back from 394 of them. From that post, I got a bit of support, and a lot of people told me to apply for a lot of jobs.

So I did.

Usually, when I apply for a job, I either hear "Thanks for your application. We will get back to you as soon as possible" or "Thank you for taking the time to apply for the job. We will have a look through your application and get back to you". 98% of the time, they don't get back to me, which made me kind of want to give up on applying for jobs at all.

These past few days, I have received a flood of calls. "You applied for a job. Are you available for a chat?".. I mean, it only took a lengthy Facebook post for the people to get back to me. I even heard back from a job I applied for 3 year ago. "Are you still available for hire?" "I am, but I forgot what job it was for!" "Oh okay, I will send you the info in an email"..

But for now, I am waiting to hear back from the job I was interviewed for yesterday. I hope for a reply today. If not today, then on Monday!

Winning!

Critical thinkers...

and the real racists...... Oh, whats the use? It won't change any minds, and serve only to tick more people off. Even gray old dogs can learn a few new tricks. VG.

HOW DO I FIND THINGS TO MAKE ME HAPPY

First, by being honest about the things that do make you happy. Most of us lie about what would really make us happy due to what others may think about it. I think many of us already know some things that will make us happy but we don't pursue it because we don't wanna be judged if it appears too quirky, risque, boring, outlandish, dangerous, etc.
Secondly, just start experimenting with things. If there's even a small inkling that you might enjoy something try it out. Only through experience will you really ever know what you like and what you don't.
Lastly, remain open minded and try things you normally wouldn't do, you never know what fulfillment it may bring into your life.
Oh…and one more thing, be creative! Me and my best friend discovered years ago that it wasn't necessarily where we were or what we were doing that made us enjoy certain experiences, it was the energy we bought to any situation.
If you're creative enough you can turn almost any mundane task into something fun that will make you feel happy for the moment. So instead of always looking for things to make you happy, transform the experiences already around you into happy moments with your own unique spark.
Good luck!

Time to heal

This is a peaceful thread so please don't start a riot or use obscene language.

As a human being watching the World implode over the incident in Minneapolis I have to ask myself why we are not learning from this instead of tearing each other apart.

Yes there is still prejudice in this World in many walks of life, but taking sides just causes more division . Racism is deep rooted and a part of our history but it should be just that HISTORY Have we learned nothing from the past that we cannot move forward together and unite instead of divide.

Your thoughts are welcome but not your anger or hate. Take it elsewhere

Thank you.handshake

Many folks have kindly helped me.....

From time to time, in less halcyon days, which I have known. So to truncate the Karma, I try to do the same. Today, took a friend to the station for quick bus to Boston----she's seeing Sir Elton tonight at the garden, with childhood pals. Since it was on the way, me and my motor head took a friend to check out a motor camper, which was junk, and he was happy to get my opinion. Sellers were enough to drive each other and anyone within hearing distance nuts---one of those couples who are ueber controlling, to others and to each other. A Godess sent match. No, you can't drive it, we will. Wipe feet before entering, I (Mrs.) spent hours on that floor. Would the dog like some water---he places about 20 ml in a tiny glass---Bravo just walked away. Endless talk from her about what a deal it was and how she's passed up many to wait for us---we were early. We won't take a penny less than asking price. And so on. So we discussed lots on the way back. His politics are way left of mine, and he spent a lot of time dissing Senator Susan C. And others of my heroes. But I learned a good deal, and we seemed to get along. He's a reporter, and just returned from a junket to Norway, funded by environmentalists hoping to stop the Norske from building of the world's largest indoor salmon farm, in this little hamlet. Depleting the ground water, polluting the ocean bay and leveling many trees. Norway won't allow it there. Progress.

Spending a million bucks to look like a million bucks...

I have some wealthy clients who know a healthy diet and exercise doesn't always 'hold back the years' and they resort to a little 'nip & tuck' (read: plastic surgery) to maintain their youthful appearance.

Many years ago, I was working for a custom millwork shop and assigned to work on a project for the new offices of a famous plastic surgeon. It was reported his first client scheduled in the new facility was actor Leslie Nielson. This happened shortly before he filmed The Naked Gun movie.

You can quote me on this: "Good plastic surgery is when people say you look terrific and scratch their head wondering how you look so fine and they don't."

I knew a local designer who really got his money's worth. They pulled his face tight... like a bongo drum! It was so strange, people often talked about it. He wore a full wig but his arthritic body appeared to be screaming in pain. You could see darkened age spots in his hands. I'm guessing he was in his 70's.

A boss I worked for was Scottish and had the trait of 'Jawls' where his cheeks drooped and eyelids also had excessive skin. His son had the same traits/characteristics and after graduating high-school had surgery to remove his baggy eyelids. The surgeon trimmed the extra skin at the fold line/wrinkle in his eyelids. Surgery... success.
Exercise made sweat drip into his eyes causing irritation. After surgery the problem was greatly reduced.

Maybe you've seen the real-life woman obsessed to look like Barbie, where the young woman had a Blepharoplasty... literally tightly pulling the skin around her eyes. Frightening to think someone so young would spend so much on looks... considering she was beautiful to start with.

I used to say, when turn 60 I'm going to have my 'bags fixed' a trait with me as long as I can remember, including baby pictures. I've heard all excuses why I have them... lack of sleep, allergy, hereditary. Instead of a trip to a plastic surgeon, I took a trip to China and that was a better investment. The idea plastic surgery has dropped so far down on my do list I'm not thinking about it anymore.

Everyone has reasons to justify plastic surgery. Not every surgery comes out as expected. There are hundreds of internet photos showing botched facelifts, many are of movie stars... people who can afford the best, unfortunately it turns out to be the worst.

I discussed with my wife if she wanted a boob job. We know it's expensive. I've got some of the money saved and I would have to take a bank loan for the rest. She doesn't want to go into debt over surgery, so my only suggestion is to get one boob done now and the other when we have more money.

Turning it around.....?

The curmudgeon, hard arse take on life, and use of humor, level of honesty, depth of charity, scrappy disposition, questionable judgment, dim views of many others---especially those perceived as less fortunate, critical view of organized faith and those so disposed, envy --always misdirected, deep denial, cavalier attitude toward kind friends, and much more. Pleased for the progress, so far, but the art is truly long. All began when I saw that liberals seem to love the universe at the expense of the individual. And conservatives love the individual, at the expense of the masses.

A Restless Night

I think it may have been because I was frustrated at nothing interesting happening on the site last night that I ended up in one of my funny moods. The kind of mood where I feel like picking a fight; only a virtual fight, I wouldn’t dream of getting myself involved in a real one. So, anyway, I went into the forum and did precisely that; I started on someone I didn’t even know just because he didn’t wholeheartedly agree with something I’d posted.

It obviously annoyed him and he did fight back but I don’t imagine it caused him any distress. It did cause me some, though. I went to bed feeling guilty about it and it took me ages to get to sleep. When I did eventually drop off I was plagued by very uncomfortable dreams; one of which woke me and, not being able to go back to sleep, caused me to get up and have a cup of tea.

So, if anyone reading this blog finds me having a go at them for no apparent reason, sometime in the future, you can take satisfaction from the knowledge that it will hurt me more than you.
