Loud people.

It's nice to see people enjoying interactions with each other. I'm working on trying to be more tolerant of loudness, especially in cackling/chortling laughter. The hearing impaired do have a tendency to talk louder, and alcohol deadens the eighth cranial nerve, so we have loud chats in bars. But sober, normal hearing folks in otherwise quiet cafe venues provide their own special sort of distraction. Earbuds and music streaming help.

Waiata

A very, very, VERY old word that is actually two words which has an extensive meaning, the modern pseudo/inaccurate meaning we know it commonly as, is song. But before the guitar the Maori word for song was aniani which actually means chant.

So I will break down the two words:

Wai (pronounced as why) =
Memory, Recollection of words, Instruction given, Water, Fishing net.

Ata (pronounced as utter, except without the rrrrr in the end,) =
Care/careful, deliberation(referring to slow and careful movement), thoroughness, gentle, slow, clear open without concealment. Deliberate. Form, shape as opposed to substance. Reflected image. Early morning/dawn

Similar to the Japanese we write our words/sentences backwards, referring to english grammar. So the pseudonym is ata wai.

So in summary:
The pronunciation is short and sharp and is said as one word without the rrrrr at the end

Waiata (why-utter) = A careful deliberation, gentle clear and open without concealment, both in form and shape done in the early mornings. Of a memory, recollection of words, or instruction given. From Our Father. aka Water of Heaven.

Voy a mi bola

Move along please folks unless you can help me with some Spanish colloquialisms because I suspect my leg is being gently pulled ... not going to say what I've been told they mean in case mischievous types promptly agree. And LOOK at them - I do not want to use these phrases unless I know they really do have the well-known colloquial meaning I'm told they have wow

1. Me cago en la leche - literally, yup, I crap in the milk. Um.
2. Ser la leche! (milk is surprisingly popular, eh?)
3. que chulo - no way I'm telling someone they're a pimp until I know it's cool uh oh
4. Eres el puto amo - or a male whore!
5. No me jodas - sounds potentially extremely useful. Please confirm.
6. Vete a la mierde - ditto.
7. Que te follen - what I'm told sounds useful, the online translator disagrees. help

Estoy flipando - en colores laugh

Any or all of the above, ta ever so very much kiss

Philosophy

I became interested in philosophy a few years ago and made a casual acquaintance with some of the characters who have played a part in its progression since Socrates wandered about the market places of ancient Greece, annoying the locals. I can’t say I am any wiser because of it. I thought that learning about philosophy might help facilitate my getting to the truth of things. If it has taught me anything at all, it is that there isn’t a truth of things.

Perhaps a better way of putting that would be to say that the word “truth” stands for something different every time we use it, but it always seems to involve distilling or isolating something from something bigger. What we end up with is very often something that has to be separated from any wider context in order to satisfy our desire for a binary* outcome.

Philosophy isn’t really about getting to the truth, it’s more about getting to what isn’t the truth, and for that alone, it’s worth pursuing.

* I would have said “black and white” at one time.

When you hit rock bottom....

...........Remember, if you can be successful once, you can get back up, dust yourself off, and do it again.

You only need to remember one person who did. Tiger Woods.
He was once the best golfer in the world, on top of his game, and unbeatable on most weekends. Then one Thanksgiving weekend he was pulled over by the police and checked for a DUI. He was alcohol free but was on prescription meds. Woods also had to deal with the damage done from a very public and scandalous divorce.

Woods’s return to the top garnered praise from world leaders and sporting greats alike, with United States president Donald Trump and his predecessor Barack Obama both offering congratulations via social media.

“Congratulations to @TigerWoods,” tweeted Trump, who earlier this year played golf with Woods. “A truly Great Champion!”

Nicklaus, 23-times tennis grand slam winner Serena Williams, Super Bowl champion Tom Brady also applauded the victory on Twitter while swimmer Michael Phelps, the winner of a record 23 Olympic gold medals, was at Augusta National to cheer Woods on.

Written off as too old and too beaten up from four back surgeries and multiple knee operations, Woods underwent a back fusion procedure in 2017 and slowly returned to form.

He ended last season by winning the Tour Championship and showed signs of a breakthrough at the majors by being a title contender at last year’s British Open, where he led in the final round, and PGA Championship, where he finished runner-up.

All those moments built to Sunday, when Woods was once again his old familiar dominating self.

“I had serious doubts after what transpired a couple years ago,” said Woods. “I could barely walk. I couldn’t sit. Couldn’t lay down. I really couldn’t do much of anything.

“Luckily I had the procedure on my back, which gave me a chance at having a normal life.

“To have the opportunity to come back like this it is probably one of the biggest wins I’ve ever had for sure because of it.”

Been journaling for decades...

...As with the home movies of our twins, and pets, and travels---fun to look back at the entries from time to time. Always describe/record dreams, when I can recall them. If I don't get up right after waking from one, often they vanish into some deep memory bank. Working on strategies to recall them. Getting better at it, but drives me nuts when a juicy one is gone for good.
