Cliff diving...

A horrible story about a 31-year old Dutch man on vacation in Spain decides to do a cliff diving stunt while his wife captures the video event in a nearby boat.
This happens at the Malgrats Islands on Thursday afternoon. The man strikes the side of the cliff on the way down that renders him unconscious where he drowns. Autopsy reveals he suffered a broken hip and arm.
Sadly the wife and son both witnessed the event.

Back home from my trip to the USA!

One week in the USA done! What did I see and experience there? Well. Lots of food, fun experiences and delays on the flight home. More on that later!

So.. Where in the US did I go? I went to visit a friend in Virginia. It's someone I have known for at least 13 years, so it's not something spur of the moment with someone I have only known for a week. No, this is a friendship that goes way back.

I slept on the sofa, which was very comfortable. That was the deal from the start, when I booked the flight. She was unable to get all the days I was visiting off, so I was alone in her apartment with her cat, until she got off work. Then, we'd go out for some food.

The first place I tried was Olive Garden, which was delicious! I got one of those make-your-own dishes, which was regular noodles, a 4 cheese sauce and Italian sausage on top. I liked it a lot.

We also visited something called Glory Days, which had the best sandwich ever! It was a short rib grilled cheese sandwich, and it was freaking awesome.

We also went to DC for some sightseeing. The following day, she was off work, so we decided to head back to DC to get some gifts for my family, as well as coming close to The White House. Naturally, the weather was warm, so it was a little sticky.

Am I done with the USA? No. Not at all! I want to visit again soon!

Chancer, meet U.S.A (or U.S.A, meet Chancer)

Well. A trip could be on the cards? I'm floating the idea out there. The idea appeals to me. The only state i've been to is Florida - which was a so-so experience - it was the last holiday i went on with my folks as a teenager laugh

Where, and what would you recommend to do, should i ever make the trip

Our Brilliant President Trump has a mouth, and a brass pair and sharp tweet fingers. But even he can't match certain teachers and now PM's from our friends home in the great white North. Black face, pitch dark, several times. Awesome. Man o man, I loves dem swinging pairs on dat dere Boss man.

Going on a holiday with a friend!

I met someone a long time ago. Years, in fact. I met her at a party through my roomie and his then-girlfriend, who is my friends sister. At first I thought she hated me, but we got to talking, and she's super chilled out and a lot of fun to be with.

We have talked about going on a holiday together, sometime next year. We have a destination in mind: Alanya, Turkey.

She wanted me to go with her on a holiday to Spain a few years ago, but I didn't have the money then. I do now, so it's only fitting that we do something about that. I was not even sure, if she wanted to go on a holiday with me, so I sort of put it aside. Then, I decided to just man up and ask her. So, the other day, I asked hed if she was interested in going on a holiday with me.

She said yes.

Now we just need to find the perfect place, at the perfect price. I am guessing we are gonna get two separate rooms, which works for me. I snore a lot, and I am not sure she wants me to see her in her nightly clothes. I will ask her what she would like to do.

But - so far the holiday location is planned. Now we just need to find the date and the hotel.

The kindergarten flight...

My trip back from Ohio started off good. 17 degrees, super windy but no snow. The connecting flight was in Charlotte, North Carolina and I received a text message the flight plan changed to a different gate. This time it was on the other end of the airport. No problem, I consider that the same as my morning walk in Florida.
Beautiful skies around 50 degrees but no time to enjoy as I had less than 30 minutes to gobble an $8 slice of pizza and head to the new gate. The pizza was actually good and maybe the most expensive price paid for a single slice.

I didn't pay much attention to the plane other than it was huge and probably held 200 passengers and crew. Typically, I wear sound deadening ear plugs and a hoodie jacket to keep my elbows from rubbing the armrests. Cat naps when possible, we had a few hours in the air. Checking the weather radar, it showed all of South Florida covered in rain. Early in the flight the pilot announced we would have to do a slight course change to avoid bad weather adding at least 30 minutes of travel.

A few rows ahead of me were a group of women and their young children, both sides of the aisle, easily a group of 10. While the earplugs muted the sound of the engines, I could hear the 'bing' sounds when the pilot (or crew) made announcements and sometimes I pulled the plug enough to actually hear what was coming over the announcement system.

Turbulence was very high and the seat belt signs were on for the entire flight.
Also for the entire flight were the children whining, talking, crying, shouting and being rambunctious. It never stopped. The guy sitting next to me commented his kid never carried-on the way these children did. While I didn't hear anyone (other than him) being vocal about it, I'm sure they all had similar opinions.

The Voice Of Nature..

Having a moment to greet Nature again, after being trapped in the hustle and bustle of the city of Jakarta for so long, was something I really missed.

Ground camping Mawar,.in the slope of hill part of Mountain Ungaran. One of my fav place to meet up and enjoy the voice of nature.

Embedded image from another site

The place quite peace, reachable ...and of course there are many natural settings that we can still greet and enjoy ..
