Already planning next years holiday!

I am on my 2 week mandatory summer holiday/break from work, and I am already bored. So what better to do than to plan next years holiday? These past few days, I have been watching a YouTuber named Mr Jww, and his experiences in the Mille Miglia Storia, which is a global brand that combines the heritage of the world's most beautiful race with a fun, sophisticated, inclusive and contemporary lifestyle. It's essentially a 1000 mile rally with some of the most beautiful and rare cars in the world. Some take it as a road trip, while others take it VERY seriously.

Mr Jww is in the 1st bracket - he's just there to experience it and have fun while driving.

Anyway, as I was watching the videos, I made a decision - I am going to Italy on my next holiday. When is that? July 2024, is my aim. I will not go there alone. I asked a friend if she wanted to come, and she said yes. Now the planning begins.

First, we need to figure out where in Italy we are going to go. I have my eyes fixed on Rome, but Italy is a big country, so I will look around. The next step is to find a hotel. Because I am such a gentleman, I will ask her if she prefers one room together, or our own rooms. That's gonna be up to her.

In any case - one week in Italy next years is gonna be the best thing ever! I have so many things I want to do. Cooking classes, take pictures, relax and eat good food!

There is still a LONG time to go. The flight will be booked early next year, when we have picked a location. Until then, it's time for research.

New York Trip Preparations - Part 1

I know that some of you might be tired of hearing about my travel-preparations, so I am starting to name my blogs "New York Trip Preparations - Part (blank)", starting with this blog. That way, you can just skip those blogs, and read something else.

With that out of the way, it's time to dive down into the blog!

I went to the exchange agency again for the second time this week, to get some more US dollars for my trip next year. I ended up with $353, and with my $50 from earlier, I am now at $403. 40% of the way to my goal, which seems like it's manageable to reach.

If i am careful with my spending here, and if I can put away DKK400 every month for 9 months, that means I will get $56 every month. $56 times 9 is $504, which puts me at $907. I do have some saving that I can use as well, so I am confident I will hit the magical $1000, which was my goal all along.

I am also slowly preparing my list for the week I am going there. My friend has volunteered to take me to New York City, which I will not turn down. She suggested that we found a hotel for a night, making it a 2-day trip. I am not going to complain at all. It's gonna be awesome! I really want to see the American Museum of Natural History. I want to get up close to a T Rex skeleton! That is one of my dreams! Luckily there is an exhibition of that, that runs throughout August 2020. There is a $23 entry fee, which I will gladly pay. I also want to visit Ground Zero. So many plans, and so little time, I feel. I will just have to come back at another time.

I have bought myself a travel bag. It's called the Haglöfs 40, and it's supposedly a very spacious bag. Hopefully I can fit a weeks worth of clothes into the bag. I might just bite the bullet and get myself a carry-on bag, and pay the fee to have it in the cargo hold. I am not allowed to store it in the overhead bins, which is total f*cking bull.. Anyway, where was I.. Oh yeah..

That bag I bought was on sale. 30% off, which was a welcome surprise. Particularly since I am travelling on a budget. Regarding the budget - I sent mine to my friend that I am visiting, and I asked her if I was totally wrong, or if I was on the right track. She said I should raise it by $100 at least, and have as close to $1000 with me, in order to get some more wiggle room for souvenirs and such.

Next thing for me to do is to get a job, so I have something to tell the CBP officer when I land in Newark next year!

The Scent of the rain.

Ever wondered about the aroma you get from the earth after rain falls? Some people I know cant stand it.
But it makes me feel so close to nature and grounded.
I sometimes go outside and just sit there during and after the rain just to take it all in.
I wonder if the scent is the same in different parts of the world.

Ok so enough of my weirdness.

The scent of the rain is actually called Petrichor.

Very Interesting Read:

My Best Motorhomes

Thinking about an world motorhome travel I can not avoid to have some preferences.Particularly my passion is those with 4x4 engineering but it is sure that some "city" type motormoes are also great.
Without any personal experience in this type of lyfestyle I however think that I will like very much to travel with one of these models.
Despite not yet possible for me I still consider it for some more time ahead as possible for me. I hope so. It has a kind of special retirement charm and it seems to me great to be each day in different location, knowing something more about people and all about them.In reality it is all about people and culture and so many things like interesting places and ways to do almost the same things we all have to do daily. Not only then about common people but also about those special persons that does special things too.
For this type of travel I think about those city models with more simplicity too and less expensive and with good flexibility inside city streets, but it is true that some more space despite tiny can be good too.How about some differences about USA and European models?
Great forum without any special conclusive answer, but it is always interesting to think about. However in practice actually I prefer the Europeans with one or two exceptions from USA.
The links are below.Hope you like some of them too:

Australia

I may visit Australia from 6th to 12th Feb, I want to make my trip to 3 cities: Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane.

Anyone here could recommend for me what is the routine I should make and what is the most convenient transportation I should use other than airplane for moving around those 3 cities?

Many thanks!

A message that warmed my heart <3

"You would like to find a nice girl, okay, but reading you on the blogs and your profile tells me you will have a difficult time
The blogs and forums are great to see how people interact with others, it tells you a lot about that person.
I see you are judgemental, sarcastic, not contributing anything positive.
I believe you could use a bit of character adjustment.
Now I am just an old lady but take it from someone who has been around a bit
I mean what I said here as being helpful, we often don't see ourselves as others do
Take it for what it is worse or .................?"

New York Trip Preparations - Part 4

As you might know by now, I am set to go to New York in less than two months. I have run into a small complication: The person I am supposed to visit, isn't responding to any of my messages. I was promised a message a few weeks ago, but that never came. I know she's active, because she're replying to other people - just not me, so I might face a cancellation. There is just one problem: My ticket is non-refundable.

What I COULD do, is find an air bnb, and stay there, if it's not too expensive. I'll decide in the coming days. If I haven't heard back from my friend by the end of the week, I am looking into changing the trip. There's also the whole corona virus thing. I am not worried, since good hygiene will keep the virus at bay. I am also probably too healthy to get the virus
