The killings are from both sides, everybody knowes, and History will remain History,no matter by whom is written, and why is written this way or the other way around, the question is.- Are they going to find a way to live in peace?,as the world is fed up, with this circle of killings, especially innocent,as you said, women and children.
Albertaghost: Yep. However, fighting the Brisith military is an act of insurgency rather than terrorism and, killing women and children who are part and parcel of a group of people who have accepted a UN mandate when you have not is pretty wrong don't you think?

And we therefore have the obligation to recognize those present day terrorists for what they are - scum. However, some (not you for sure) are so screwed up that they support those who deliberately kill women and children with suicide and rocket attacks as a matter of propaganda and vilify those who attempt to stop them.

Crazy Mothers ain't they, those western supporters of terrorism? Like a bunch of morons to tell the truth. So predictable and easy to parse words with as in the end, for one group, violence is optional. While the other, in order to stop the violence, has to also use violence.

Yet only one violent act - the second, is criticized.

Now why is that?

Albertaghost: Hamas is an internationally recognized terrorist organization and now the government of Gaza.
There were prohibited weapons on the ship however, like Saddam and the UN resolutions which required him to not only get rid of WMDs but to p[rove he did, all Israel wanted to do was to stop and look to make sure there were none.

You live on the moon or something? Nine Israeli casualties one of the life threatening. Commandos armed with paintguns for crying out loud. All they wanted was to inspect the ship.
At least 1200 of them militants hiding amongst collaborators which says everything.
Sort of like an Al Qassam has precision aiming when launched huh?
Can you provide a link where an Hamas fighter has screwed up royally and accidentally hit an IDF soldier rather than a woman, child or civillian?
Pretty much international waters if the obvious intent is to break a blockade. You need stick figures for this explanation?

You know, that is a very good pile of points and, I'm willing to bet that once you take away a bunch of people that are hell bent on killing every last Israeli that they will address those concerns.
Israel is a democratic state that rules by representivie votes. A terrorist state practices state terror much like Saddam did with a regime like oppression to all with a party or leader that is entrenched in power.
You still don't get it do you? Israel doesn't care. They know people like you hate them and so, know they are on their own and don't bother listening anymore.

Heeeeyy! That's how Hamas gained power! Gun fights in the streets of Gaza baby! Chopping off the hands and heads of Fatah political opponents and all. And you support them so I know where you come from Offende.

You really don't seem to understand.

Because Hamas is doing this and that is not giving Israeli military any right to kill civilians.

At least somebody seems to understand the issue...

"The army in which I served, which will soon enlist my children, is only good for one thing: to fight those who are aiming a gun at me. Not those who dislike me, demonize me, or hope to see me dead. Only the gun-wielders."

Does somebody really believe that one commando team is a good choise for looking through 10 000 tonnes of cargo and hundreds of civilians?

sorry man.

You are trying to canalize debate from event about which we are talking to to others and I wont buy this.

Subject is: Israel attack on European convoy in international waters, killing European citizens, hurting them and kidnapping.

If there was any, I repeat, any peace of any weapon Israel government will turn the world to show it on all TV channels to proof what they claim ( lie ) but we haven't seen anything.

If there was any militant or terrorist Israel government will turn the world to show him on all TV channels, but there was none.

Of course that there was no weapon, no militants.

Organizers of convoy are not so stupid persons that they will allow to Israel to compromise the whole idea by allowing militants to take part in it.

Militants are not so stupid that they will just like this go in MOSAD hands.

We are not so stupid to buy lies of Israel government.

Nobody is so stupid except Israel government who wants to sold fairytales to the world

( By the way. Is it Government or a Headquarter? Is there any civilian in it. I can't remember any President with rank lover than brigade general or chef of MOSAD. Strange democracy, indeed. )

We see that Israel don't care what world thinks about crimes that he commits and that he thinks that he can do what he wants whenever he wants but we will change that.
O yes, you need friends. Without them you can't survive two weeks.
Friends will help to Israel to survive, to live and to last but not this one cause being friend to such state means to be in a bad company.

And thank you for your effort to discriminate me as a man and opponent in discussion by declaring me as a Jew hater .

Can it be.....July 2001,-the chief of Stab,(IDF),Shaul Mofaz,-presented a solution for the Israeli governement(A.Sharon),-a solution for Palestine territories..."The destruction of the Palestinian authorities, and disarmament of all Armed forces"...and as a long-running plan,-26:th of May this very year,-IDF made clear that they where going to border the vessels to Gaza on international territory....:-As a part of the military preperations,-the Marine did a "practice",by intercepting a fleet and arrest people"...Just recently,-the Israeli navy did do wargames,-"Minoas 2010",-at Souda Bay,Kreta...,and the sources I´m referring to,-claim this is a very preperation for eventual confrontation with Iran...Since doing wargames outside the Greek coast,-no-one could be blind that there´s a reason for this build-up....Not an military expert,-but there´s reasons to everything....And could this have someting to do with "Operation Northwood"???Again,-I´m not an expert on these matters,-but I have a feeling within myself, that something, somewhere thing´s about to change...And yes...sources claim this operation went under the name of "Authorized Revenge"...

Hamas blocking entry of flotilla aid into Gaza
Islamist groups says Israel must free all activists and agree to deliver the cargo in full before it will allow in any of the aid.
By DPA
Tags: Israel news Gaza flotilla Hamas will not allow goods from an aid flotilla raided by Israel to enter the blockaded Gaza Strip, a spokesman for the Islamist organization said Thursday.

Ahmed al-Kurd, Social Welfare Minister in the Hamas government which rules Gaza, said Hamas would block the aid cargo until Israel met all of the group's conditions.

Israel must release all of the activists detained after Israel's interception of the Gaza-bound convoy and transfer all, not just part, of the seized cargo, Kurd said.

He added that since the convoy was organized in Turkey, it was up to Ankara to decide whether to allow the goods to enter the Strip.

An Israeli spokesman said eight trucks packed with goods taken from the flotilla are stuck at the Kerem Shalom crossing point, waiting to enter the Strip.

He denied Kurd's claim that Israel has confiscated goods, saying Israel had not yet finished unloading containers from the flotilla.

Before the Israel Navy raid on Monday, Israel had vowed to transfer the flotilla's aid cargo of to Gaza if the boats abandoned the attempt to reach Hamas-controlled territory and docked at the Israeli port of Ashdod for inspection.

When activists rejected the offer, Israel intercepted the convoy in international waters some 60 miles offshore.

The activists see it is like this: if they want to send a convoy of ships into a country or a territory and not give the country the right to board it or inspect the cargo before delivering it, this is OK. Basically, it comes to activists imposing their own rules. And secondly, the Hamas Social Welfare Minister wants to deny his own people the humanitarian goods that Israel is delivering even, unless Israel bows to Hamas demands? Something is definitely wrong with both scenarios. Considering that Israel maintains a blockade of a hostile country to protect it's own citizens is obviously not OK with the activists.
If that flotilla gets away with doing what they did, then they have the right to sail into any country in the world, deliver whatever they want, yell "foul" if they get inspected and can impose their own rules and get away with it.
As for intercepting in international waters 60 miles away, better for Israel to intercept out there than to wait until ships come close to land and then you get the long range rockets from Gaza shooting at the ships under the guize of blaming Israel. A ship gets blown apart, more people killed and it's Israel's fault then of course. Then blame Israel again. When a ship disregards warnings to stop, then you can better believe they are hiding something and are eager to make a mad dash to their destination to unload it. I doubt that they were only delivering humanitarian aid. Maybe most of the activists think it is only humanitarian aid but there are those who undoubtably know far more of what the rest of the cargo really is.
It isn't rocket science to figure that there are Hamas connections with "extra cargo" that is covertly being delivered on one or more of the ships. And one doesn't need Mosad to figure that one out. I have a feeling that weaponry will be found. Guess if Hamas is having trouble getting weaponry their tunnels bombed via Israel and blocked from Egypt, then they have to go through the water as an alternative.
Not meant to offend anybody but this is my view. No vindictiveness please.

emannigol: You really think that all or even majority of Palestinians are willingly cooperating with Hamas and terrorist acts? Generalizations like this are served as excuse for treating civilians inhumane. Because of this it's so easy to order artillery and rocket fire against civilians.

Most of the talk about Hamas is just a smoke screen. I was blinded that smoke screen too. Issue isn't what Hamas is doing or Israel is doing to Hamas but what they are doing to civilians.

Yup, I know if my neighbor was helping to launch uncontolled missles into civilian areas, my neighbor would not be launching those rockets. Of coarse those protections might not last long here in America, has the current administration launches his uncontrolled passions to increase the prosperity of his angels.devil

It certainly does not however, it certainly does give then the right to go in and take out those who attack their people. As in any operation there will be civilian casualties and, moreso when the enemy hides among civilians with the intent on gaining propaganda points by bringing harm to those same civilians.

Terrible choice to tell the truth which is probably why they only used them to gain control of the ship when it refused to turn back or head to an Israeli port for inspection.

Heard from some loud Israelians it isn't even evil but a necessity.

Please do consider this thought when you place all the blame on Israel each time. Does anyone not seem to notice the UN or any organizations putting together committees to investigate every incidence of violence against the Israeli civilians? No investigations against the rock throwers, suicide bombers, bus bombers, disco and restaurant bombers and attempted suicide bombers or even to find those responsible for shooting the kassam rockets into Israel. The UN sure doesn't seem to force Hamas to return Shalit as he isn't even allowed a Red Cross visit and is being held illegally. That poor Thai man who was killed when his greenhouse in Israel was hit, the teenagers murdered in the discoteque bombings, the coastal road bus bombing, the Lod airport bombings. Israel is full of the graves of innocent unarmed people murdered just because they are Jews. Please..... Where was the UN and other agencies to investigate? Only when Israel retaliates and comes down real hard does the world care and suddenly always blame Israel. Seems like the world doesn't care when an Israeli is murdered but sure is quick to condemn Israel when it fires back and a Palestinian is killed. Haven't European countries had enough already of radical bombings in their countries to be more proactive like Israel rather than criticizing Israel? Counties should be praising Israel, not condemning her for her vigilance considering the threat to Europe and other moderate Islamic countries in the region from Iran.

And also consider this out of Haaretz Newspaper today:

Arab states asked the UN council to condemn Israel for violating international law because it had taken over the flotilla's ships in international waters. The council's resolution also calls on Israel to lift the blockade on the Gaza Strip and to provide its residents with food, fuel and medicines.

The resolution's final article states that the council will send an independent, international group to investigate the facts of the incident and any violations of international law as a result of "the Israeli attack against a convoy of ships carrying humanitarian aid".

After Wednesday's cabinet meeting, Netanyahu did not comment on the possibility of an Israeli inquiry, but accused the international community of hypocrisy and warned against what he said would lead to transforming the Gaza Strip into an Iranian missile base.

It was Israel's obligation to prevent the import of weapons into the Strip that would be directed against Israel, the prime minister said.

"Iran continues to smuggle weapons to the Gaza Strip that are aimed at Israel," Netanyahu said, and called for the blockade to stay in place.

If ships are allowed to enter Gaza port freely, "the implication would be that there would be an Iranian port in the Gaza Strip, close to Tel Aviv, and this is a genuine threat to Israel's security. I say to you, and to the countries criticizing us, that an Iranian port in Gaza is also a threat to European states."

Yes it is however, since nobody has come out with a here and now solution whereby Israeli civilians are safeguarded other than to take out those doing the rocket launching, this method seems to be the best option.

I doubt that as they would have to remain on board in order to ensure the ship sailed for Ashod where the cargo would be inspected.

MOSSAD has payed people, agents, all around the world for doing propaganda for them but this is not reason for ideas of extincting of one nation, Jews in this case.
You know, first: we are not like them and second: we must give opportunity to their next generations to join in our civilization.

Conrad73: Takes 800 People to deliver 6 Ships with stuff that was to be easily delivered by the UN!

...and takes a crack Israeli Special Operations Group armed with state of the art machine guns, trained, drilled, practised in armed & unarmed conflict to 'invade' a relief ship in "International' waters, in the middle of the night ((a friendly & considerate gesture - no doubt) & not meant to cause any confusion)) - to disarm people, who, by all accounts had no 'mechanical' weapons at hand to defend themselves - but pieces of wood (on a ship no doubt! who would have thought!), Kitchen knives (who knows what these were doing on this ship?!) etc.etc.etc...

Trouble is...
The reporting of most of this International stuff just sounds more & more like a chapter out of '1984' - George Orwell.
