A 32 year old man dating a 19 year old girl. I know legally its OK but I want to know what Australians think of such relationships.

What if the girl doesn't know the man's age and thinks he is younger, is it OK for the man to go ahead with the girl without revealing his age?

No he should be honest with her about his age, if you havnt got honesty in a relationship it doesnt stand a chance.

Ok if the guy has lied about his age then that is wrong.
But on the other hand if she is dating this guy because of his age then maybe she has some daddy issues. dunno

13 years is a very small gap after seeing a lot of people who are with people more than twice there age.
personally I wouldn't have wanted to have missed out on going through the night club and pub stage of my life 18yo - 26yo to get lumbered with an old fart from a caravan park like myself

I personally don't care about age,if you care for some one go for it,
It will only last as long as it was ment too regardless of age

Be happy while you have the chance

Why lie about your age? If you can handle it go for it. I spent from 1981 to 2000 with my ex 18 yrs junior, best 20 yrs I ever had, but I warn you, shes 46 now but she never grew up.

There is no lying involved. I will definitely tell my age at a later stage but its difficult to do so at first meeting specially in a club.

Perceptions on issues like this differ from country to country and since I'm in Australia I wanted to know if its normal here.

Aussies are generally open-minded when it comes to these things conversing

I see you have a Middle-Eastern background and I can understand our cultures would be very different thumbs up

Well from where I stand, you are both very young... but you might being 32 be ready to settle, and she prolly isnt. You would need to have a biggish conversation around freedom, and choices, and lifestyle..

and trusting each other to go out and have fun without the other, now that is a really big hurdle... good luck...

and yes, you need to state your age, and you prolly have been and done the pub /disco scene, whilst your partner is just getting ready for it... wave

and BTW, she prolly isn't ready for a family, and might not be until another 10 years or more... do you really want sleepless nights at 40 +++ and then in your fifties, be running about doing the 'dad, go watch the kids do their sat morning sport, ??? Just mentioning stuff that might crop upgrin

Very, very well said. Age has no meaning when the couple really want to share their life together.

It is never OK to try and dupe another person. Especially when you know the other person is vulnerable for whatever reason.

Anyone who behaves that way is being totally unauthentic in the way they live. What real pleasure is to be gained being that way?
