Women have their own incomes, they are not reliant on men for support as much as in the past. Men are influenced by the materialism of the age, they would rather have the fancy car, an exotic summer holiday, plus a ski holiday in winter, than be saddled with a miserable wife, and a few screaming kids. it's all about independence (and selfishness).
