With thanks to Bruce Lipton, a beacon of light in a morass of darkness...
A satire with true overtures… Phyllis, ah, Phyllis, what would I do without her? Every morning she wakes me up at precisely the right time I asked her to the night before…, More faithful a gal, a guy could not hope for… Slowly, reluctantly, I
Got tired of being busted by what was interpreted rather than what I said. That's one reason why today I am freeatlast.

When the darkness covers the streets. And families are safe in bed. Out comes the people of the night. A world all their own. They don't care for the light of day. Or the structured lives some live. With beer in hand and laughter on faces.
This is a country song I wrote and posted a loooonnnng time ago, before people started really commenting on my poems. Just thought I'd dust it off and throw it out there to see what people think of it. Written........................ on the side of the road.
Written 2-21-02. Back when I raised show rabbits, there were rules about how many rabbits a breeder could have before it was considered "commercial" and needed a license. Same with dogs, because of what some people did badly. IE, poor care of breeding stock, animals dying or no vet care etc. So, the responsible breeders were faulted for it, not the ones making the mistakes. But with this ripple effect on good breeders, eventually so many other things would be affected and our world would come crashing. That law didn`t pass but it`s still hovering over us.
The threat is gone no longer do we see crude cresting on waves washing ashore killing dreams. The threat is gone toxins unknown dispersed into water’s moving force cleansing itself anew, nature’s balance caught in the middl
Essential is the air we breath Like water is to land The world rotates with love and anger Now this I try to understand
I rather like Haiku, actually! I believe the 'modern' traditional format is three lines, with five, seven, and five syllables per line (though a five line stanza with 5,7,5 followed by 7, 7 is common too?). What I really like in haiku, that I fail to express in mine, is to see independant thoughts that combine to form an image. That is to say, three things which aren't related through transtions, and accessories like 'and', 'with', or possessives. Blah blah blah, right? lol Maybe I'll slip by later and try my hand at a more thoughtful haiku. :)
Seems to be Haiku day...

a poem that reminds all of us....just be kind, and breathe, lets get out of this land of confusion...peace.
Turquoise oceans slowly turning dark and a menacing-kind-of-ugly, Healing oceans, mothers of all life, now becoming unwelcome envoys of misery, The arousing iodine-fresh smell[I plead poetic licence], now a befouled stench to the nostrils, Seagull
I am a poet and a songwriter. I write things in poems that can not be written effectively in a song. Most of my poetry is darker like this one. This poem is not inspired by personal experience of any kind. I wrote this poem to point out the lack of caring that we seem to have for our fellow humans. When you walk down the street and you see a homeless person, what is your first thought? Bum? Alcoholic? Freeloader? Lazy? These are just labels we use to excuse our own lack of compassion. How about showing sympathy? If a homeless person asks you for money for a burger or slice of pizza, how bout taking him to a fast food pizza joint or McDonalds and buying him a meal. You would be amazed how doing something so small and inexpensive can make you feel knowing that you have helped to make a difference to someone who due to circumstances you don't know have put them down on their luck.
Wanted to exspress feelings about world conflict and how we humans could but don't get together to solve the world issues intellectually and peacefully.
