Libertarian Objections

Libertarian Objections

I spent last Sunday watching the libertarian debates for about seven hours. The debates were actually on Saturday, but I taped them. The candidate selection and vice president were chosen Sunday. Gary Johnson and his vice president Bill Weld won.

DVR

I have really gone a long way from VCR to DVR. No tapes to store and a better image. The time it used to take to fast forward through commercials is a real time saver.

How Many Have to Die

How Many Have to Die?

Bewildered as black people we stand between friends and foes, merging from different forms of slavery, but yet to be free; abandoned by the promise of forty acres and a mule to stake their lot. From the righteous ambition of this ill-fated notion we

Another Shooting

Another Shooting

I could go on for a long time on this topic. We had a shooting at a plant in Columbus, Indiana on March 10. An employee shot his boss and then himself. We even had the top safety guy come out and tell us how to protect ourselves if there is an active shooter. Run, hide, and as last resort defend yourself.

Old Age Living

Old Age Living

It seems for some that ones life can become intolerably lonely as the years catch up on us especially those living on their own. Have you ever thought about your own future and where you might be?

Transparency

You hear a lot about the word transparency so this is a little play at what it means to me. Look at all the conflict around the world and how they all revolve around the peoples lack of understanding in government affairs and their free speech.

Just got done watching a documentary about rape in the military. 20,000 women and 20,000 men are raped while serving in the armed forces while the perpetrators go unpunished. Now we are going back into Iraq, it's all pretty sad.

The Darkness of Peace

The Darkness of Peace

I wrote this for a prompt on another site regarding the refugees discovered in the back of a truck in Austria some days ago. The photo is of a street in Damascus. It was very difficult to write as you might imagine. Hi to all that remember me and hello to all ye new poets, hope you are all well.

The Spiritual Foundling

The Spiritual Foundling...

The spiritual foundling woke up in a trash heap in a dusty rural town of a forgotten continent when he was not yet past Shakespeare’s proverbial ‘first stage’ of life, One of the first memories he has is of stealing the H2O-merchant’s horse and wat

Romneys Got a Gun

Romney's Got a Gun

With the election coming up and his infamous answer to what he would cut to trim the national debt, I thought it would be fun to do a parody of Janie's Got a Gun by Aerosmith.

A Bad Day

A Bad Day

Being Used

Being Used

Current events have shown yet another person is guilty of using stardom as a means to get their guilty pleasures. This poem I hope sort of captures the feelings of being scared and not listened to when they tried to raise the alarm, and now years on they can unburden the guilt they carried.
