SOCRATES EVERYTHING YOU WRITE HAS THE ESSENCE OF BRILLIANCE! I JUST HAD TO WRITE SOMETHING SPECIAL FOR YOU! I"M SURE THAT MANY OF THESE POETS FEEL THE SAME!
I just read about the poem of our dear friend Paloma who had provided me with enormous amount of inspiration on the days when I was so low and down. I am better now and I hope we can, also share her fears and frustrations because this is what I love most of this place. Our ability to share our pains, sorrows and love give us strength when we need it. That is all.
Alone in the wilderness makes my life complete
Trinidad, my native island, is sometimes referred to as the “Land of the Hummingbird” because more than sixteen different species of hummingbird have been recorded on the island. The indigenous Native Americans, the Arawaks, named the island, "Iere", which, in their language, means "Land of the Hummingbird". Two hummingbirds are shown on the island's coat of arms.
This poem goes out to all of the women who do not know their worth. You may not have been born into a context where you were given the choice to be strong and to fend for yourself; but as a united body of women, we can make a difference. We can choose, today, to be strong and to see the value in ourselves, our sisters and our daughters. Let's lift up the Sandy's in our lives!
A free verse poem (more like an extra short story) based on a dream I once had. It resembles the darkness of society's expectations of people. We are all beautiful and our bodies and personas are our houses. These are temples which we change and deconstruct according to what other people want. You are beautiful. Be you!
This Poem is dedicated to my Norwegian female Best Friend Heidi Rones who died on 3/08/2015 evening, after being in coma since 11th of Jun 2015 due to heart attack and medical complications afterwards. [

I never drink water because of the disgusting things that fish do in it. W.C. Fields
Show me a sign of troubles in your heart. Spare me your lies and tell me that you're mine. Made me a slave to the secrets of your silence. But you told me to stay. And you told me you're mine. And our bodies float on the river to the oceans of demise
The grave of our youth is up ahead. And life has become a burden. We move in circles of suppressed despair. Waiting for the sun. And turning stones to find evidence. But it hides in the recesses of our hearts. A written decree of our loss. And we car
Muriel, I can never forget that face an angel in disguise, without the wings but such love in her eyes A force of nature so frail but strong an empathy with those that did not belong A lady that knew how it feels to be lost no home, no love

Guess of lot of us have these cards, do they bring back the love of the moment or just there to remind a lost cause? Another spur of the moment writing from me as I never really put any thought in what am doing just let the words flow for a subject matter.
The truth or knowledge is given by a mathematical formula, the difference between your knowledge of reality and the knowledge of others
Just going over some things I have wished would be better. Just like in the movie PeeWee's Big Adventure, "You can't wait for things to happen, you have to make them happen."

I created this poem for sharejoysproject.org- inspirational goodies to uplift and encourage others as a catalyst towards positive change in the world.
I was inspired by a similar poem, " A Hug" by an author unknown some time ago. I love affection and it makes such a difference, especially to those who are rarely touched in this world- such as those living on the streets.
This poem is one that is extra special to me, for it acknowledges that people at their seemingly worst, are still a valuable, meaningful part of humanity. For instance, anyone in a homeless situation can make a positive difference and some do- many, perhaps! This is what it means to me, in my experience in Eugene, Oregon. I am grateful that some of our unhoused members are as kind and giving as they are, just as any other- if not more, at times. Perhaps, because they are treated with such grace and respect vs. another locality?
