CONTEMPORARY MEMORY START THE RYTHEM
BEGIN A FRIEND
FIEND DEFINED BY WINGS SEPERATED
VENTELATED AND HIGH
ANCIENT CURSES THROUGH THE SAND PRESSED SQUARE
STARE INTO THE FULL MOON CRESCENT CITY
ONE TIME DEFINED AMONGST ANGELS THROWN
UP AND DOWN THRICE DAILY AND NUMBERS SOUND
ON THAT JAZZY BLUE JUKEBOX
SLY FOX
COLD AIR IN THE FULL MOON CRESCENT CITY
STRAIGHT LINES FINE LINES AND FLOURESCENT HAIR
ANGEL WHERE ARE YOU
SOUTH LINES END IN THE FULL MOON CRESCENT CITY

Trapt in a place
locked in by my heart
so many places to go
but there's no place to start
but that's how it goes
it always seems the same
the door that could lead to happiness
is blocked by a single flame
It started as just a matchlight
but now engulfs half the door
but things may get better
so i'll wait here a bit more
But that fire grows higher
and there is no water in sight
the darkness takes over
and I'm stuck without light
Now I sit here
burned with regret
because i could never be satisfied
with only what i could get

I'm on thin Ice!
Each word I comtemplate thrice.
If not offend perhaps Entice.
Choose a word. Choose it twice!
Save your soul or..Roll the dice?
Be a man, not like the mice.
Shout the truth, speak your vice.
You know that reality will suffice.
Say good things and say them nice.
Perhaps say the truth is the best advice.
Tell a lie, but at what price?
The truth, the truth...remember thin ice!

About this poem:
The sped up thought process when you are
on thin ice and trying to decide whether to
come clean or fib (bs) your way out of something.

i thought i'd seen it all till i ran into you
i thought id done it all till you came into view
i thought i knew it all when i was 16 years old
i thought the line was crossed when doing what i was told
they come from far and wide when they think they'll see a show
they come in faster still if someone's about to blow
they often chase a deer or fox just to shoot it down
they often come back looking for more when they shoulda just left town

Ah!..but if it was just so easy...
and I could go to Dunkin Donuts
and pay a price, and pick you out
among the precious tray of culinary delights,
and bring you home and take a bite
of ecstasy.
Rows of trays, so artfully designed
sprinkles, white and pink and brown
creamy custard centers, dripping with honeydew
and then there was... YOU.
And if your outer cover
was the plainest in the tray
I'd still pick YOU, each and every day.
For God creates that special one
that satisfies beyond
the palate and the tongue.
and touches your heart and soul
like no other... One.
If only, there was but, a simple price to pay
I'd buy your heart.

But for your gated walls
would I have known the breadth of you
nor my own endeavors a seige
O for a wittness
would I leave this land
and return the peace of your border

the twisted discourse squeezed the life from the moment
as sure as the ivy destroyed the willow in the back yard
ever climbing in the darkness of night
never ceasing until a crecendo led to disbandment of relations of old
illicit accusations implied and spoken
chopped away at the foundation and ended up as broken chairs against the wall
eventually enough damage pierced the house completely and
a new light shown through to reveal the dawn

if you dare
but heed my warning
please beware
for inside
you’ll find buried there
thoughts to make your mind aware
with tales of love
and dark despair
Angel
I once knew an angel;
Girl I need to tell you this
for you may think that angels,
are creatures full of bliss
Let me tell you sweetheart,
they are not like that
Confused down here; in disarray;
more like an alley cat
Sweet as sugar when we met,
innocence portrayed
Inside, hidden from my view,
something quite depraved
Her beauty so ethereal;
I never could describe
But that was human beauty,
not her other side
Was she here for a reason;
That I will never know
unlike our dreams of angels
pure as driven snow
Thought I'd be in heaven;
instead we entered hell
Never thought an angel,
would know it quite so well
I once knew an angel girl,
Let me tell you this
If we ever meet again,
I'll beg for one more kiss
Temptation
Languid puma flexes
No trace of city stress
Flared; short; oh so hot
Red the mini dress
Offerings tempting
Urgent buttock bare
Desert heat
No relief
Magnificent sweet peaches there
Jazz delights
Perfect sights
Swirl of skirt
Flash of white
Innocence betrayed by light
Temptation clawing
Touch those perfect curves
Another dance
Another chance
Epiphany observed
Languorously sensual
Tarantella teasing
Bright white thong in buried bliss
Begs a predatory kiss
Leavings
Whore without a heart of gold
night hung quietly arrogant
Among the trees an icy breeze
rabid as some mad disease
flaunting and how decadent
an anxious mother seeking
In mad delight
bequeathed twilight
a charnel house of reeking
So
I sit and shiver
as elegance betrayed the day
one final chance that come what may
an arrow from the quiver
of shaking hand won’t understand
the damage in its aiming
Virgin’s blood on withered thighs
will reconcile the maiming
Can you
Delighted
An avid birthday child
just once assuage the burning rage
within me running wild
Capitals
Canyon deep those glassine walls
reflecting in the light recalls
the shattered dreams of those who dared
Alas; the city never shared
and beaten now they slink away
midst memories of better days
Through all this; the city
Urgent; seething
without pity
reaches with its silken ties
to change before more hopeful eyes
Promises of wealth and riches
buried innocent with glitches
tossed in there in purest spite
to the cities mad delight
Temptations offered
some refused
others horribly abused
Effortless the city lies
strengthening those silken ties
turning them to hardened steel
‘til the nightmares
somehow real
with joy
grasp enraptured minds
happy dreams now left behind
So innocence is truly lost
city grows
at what a cost

“half asleep”
she bit his leg
he bit her back
this went on for hours
they played ping pong
and watched the sunrise
the paper was at the door
the cows came home
the rooster crowed
still dawn wasn’t that dramatic
yin & yang couldn’t hold a candle
the ways of the world didn’t matter
worlds collided & formed anew after decades of uncertainty
now only the reflection in their eyes could light the dawn
