HORROR

I walked down the passage, a sullen route,
On me like a load heavy silence weighed.
I moved and as strangers with hostile look
Statues were gazing from grim recess.

In gloomy sleep things were deadly stiff,
A gray semidarkness was eerie and quaint,
And same as the sound of pendulum big
Resounded in passage my hollow steps.

And there in the dark of abysmal space
My fiery eye viewed in mortal fright
A shape unobtrusive in deeper shade
Of crowded pillars rising so high.

Having approached a chilling fear
Grabbed me as beast and caught my breath:
I noticed in horror a head of hyena,
On maiden’s slim shoulders did it rest.

Its pointed snout was stained with blood
And eyes were glowing with hollow light,
And creepy whisper kept hoarse and vile:
“You came by yourself, so now you're mine!”

Those fearful moments swept by so fast,
And the half-light fell like a misty cloud,
And the pallid horror grew, doubled in size
Reflected in mirrors of charnel house.

About this poem:
Not quite so inspirational as it should rightfully be here on this corner, but this is what I chose to translate this time from the Russian poetry. My apologies.

Pale Horses

Out of red desert dust they appear
They are the flesh crushers
The destroyers
The warlords of judgement
Their hooves make cemetaries
of pride
Their powerful necks break the
backs of the obstinate
Their swift tails melt the
faint of heart
There is no fear in their eyes
They charge into the gates of hell
They breathe fire and smoke!
Watch out! You cities of doom!
Pray the rocks fall on you
Hide in holes and in caves!
He who sends the pale horses
awaits your reply..
Hurry! Devastation storms your
gates!
You have sent your reply:
'We repent!'
Behold! Look to your gates.
The pale horses have vanished
in the dust!
Peace~

Wild and Dangerous

Step lightly my friend..and
behold the horizon
For the jungle is teaming
with eyes and your scent is
in the air-
Do not let your modern eyes
behold only plush meadows
and the dainty flower
Surely the lamb is among us
but so is..the beast
This forbidden landscape is
most exotic and strange
creatures with alien eyes
behold your every move
Watch out! Is it safe?
Let not your refinements and
idle chatter stir the wary
inhabitants of this dark and
mysterious valley
For we have not found our true
home yet and creatures who lurk
are still as wild as they ever
were
The lion still roars, and the bee
still stings and this dangerous
world in the bush will show no
mercy on your wounds
Beware, for the Wild is upon you~

Who am I?

I am who I am..at least
that's what I think
I mean, who else could
I be unless I'm the
missing link?
I'm North, South, East,
and West
I'm the missing button
on your daddy's vest
I'm here, I'm near, and
I'm from afar
I'm as close as the moon
and as far as a star
I'm a half breed, crossbreed,
and everything between
Yet I am only you if you
get what I mean
I'm a thought within a
thought so who is doing
the thinking?
Unless of course you're
scratching your head and
wonder who's been drinking
No, my friend, tis but a
rhyme that you and I are
one of a kind
The only difference between
you and me is what our hearts
have learned to see~

"Beautiful Storm"

Child you are my beautiful storm!...

Warm wind frames dark eyes and hair..
Not cool like mother, blued eyed and fair...

Blowing in on a wintery day...
Everything changing as I watch you play...
In your crib, my beautiful storm...
Filled with a promise not yet born...

You cry for me in the dead of night...
I feed your hunger, I hold you tight...
Trying to calm another storm...
As one more piece of my heart is torn...

A mothers' breast will fill your need...
Beautiful storm, be still I plead!...

Transitions

I sat there, in that chair.
Waiting, watching, listening.
Every fiber of my being, alert.
Poised to jump, to respond, to be.

I lay there, in that bed.
Restless, worried, tossing.
Each moment ticking by, concerned.
Ready to fly, to move, to run.

I walked there, on that porch.
Stomping, screaming, yelling.
All of me hurting, pained.
Seeking to flee, to move, to laugh.

I stopped there, at that moment.
Still, calm, at peace.
My heart beating, amazed.
Knowing it is over, done, free.

and the death came..

one night the death pushed the door and said:
-its time to follow me now, venerable master..
master oshiba retorted:
-may I leave the door open ,compassionate death ?
and the death closed the door and went out..

Treasure Poets

Treasure poets with spirit
shovels embark upon a
mystic sea
On a ship called nameless
dreams carrying ancient
maps of desire
Voices taunt in errie fog
warning of troubled waters
But treasure poets man sails
of hope and steer into a
starless void
The dreamship is tossed by
thrashing doubt but faith
calms the sea
Anchors of conviction lodged
in the deep
Monsters from the unknown
awaken from their sleep
Poets bail out tears and
slash green-eyed fears
They break the rusty lock
on a chest that glows and
gleams
Treasure poets in a voyage
through time sail away
with golden dreams~

Some

Some of change and we grow
Some for the better and some no
All have good and some just don,t show
Some get rich and some stay below
ALL for a reason and one day we will all know.

"You Know a Hurricane's Comin!"

You know a hurricane's comin',
when sheets of rain race against the wind.
When trees are swaying to the rhythm of the blues,
a rhythm that their own leaves send.
When the gator's of the bayou are diving,
down deep to escape the havoc above.
When Cajun's put away their fiddles,
their guitars and the Gumbo they love.

You know a hurricane's comin!

When the critters of the woods scatter,
unconcerned by whom they've been seen.
The Black Panther by the fleeing boar,
is considered as being less than mean.
The skies are filled with floating debris,
looking like butterflies on drunken display.
The tranquil waters, once calm and still,
are churning and swelling in the bay.

You know a hurricane's comin!

Mother Nature has her signs,
and her means of announcing that to come.
Just as an intuitive man or woman,
will also know when they're headed for fun.
As the unfolding weather tells it's story,
to those with keen eyes and a sharp nose.
So too, can the heart discern and read,
changing temps of sensual highs and lows.

You know a hurricane's comin!

Board up the house, secure the shutters,
fasten all open latches and locks.
Put everything outside safely away,
bring up the boat from the dock!
It's gonna be a mean one, it's runnin it's course,
it's gonna keep us up late!
This passionate storm of mounting force
is nothing short of GREAT!

You know a hurricane's comin!

The lights begin to flicker,
the air is full of mysterious moans!
The candles within that are burning,
set an ambiance of desire in the home.
Let the storm outside come upon us,
with all it's energy and force displayed.
Cause the storm of passion between us,
pales the power it's conveyed!

You know a hurricane's cummin!

About this poem:
I'm not one to write much about 'Sensual Passion', but I thought I'd try my hand at it while writing an original poem for a friend of mine that carries the same name as a recent hurricane here in the U.S.
