Fallen

My dad fell twice in the last two weeks
Now he is at a rehab/nursing home
Will he ever come out of that awful place
Where there is no privacy
People waiting to die
Other greedy caregivers charging 5000 bucks a month
Getting rich off the misery of old people
Not being respected at a time when they should be
We have a sick devoting to youth in this culture
Billions spent making people look young
Diets of all sorts that promise the world and only take money
There are 10,000 people who turn 65 every day in this country
Where is all the money going to come to take care of them all?
And are they going to get the care they need?
Are they going to be treated with dignity and respect in their golden years?
I know a place of dignity and respect because I feel it
I also know a place that doesn't care about people because I feel that too
I've only been to this place once
I felt bad for my dad being there

About this poem:
My dad would be hunting morels right now if he had his health. I went out for a little over an hour and found nothing but an old Skippy peanut butter jar made out of glass from the 1960s.

Things I'm Gonna Do

I will go to a morel festival in Muscoda
I will watch a parade there to pass some time away
I will go to a baseball game at Miller Park
I will watch the Brewers just for a lark
I am going to Kalahari in Wisconsin Dells for free
A 250 gift card from work just for me
I will golf some here and there
I will go to some driving ranges and hit some golf balls without care
I will work the same crappy job just for the bucks
I will try not to get hurt with a little luck
I am going to visit my dad in that horrible nursing home
I will sing in my car and watch dvds in my car and write this poem

About this poem:
There are a lot of things I would do if the time and the money would come together just right. I would like to go some day to some distant land like Australia or Ireland.

I like it there wherever I am

I like it there wherever I am
I daydream all day of the people I would rather be around
It is a small list
Todd comes to mind
But before he got in all the trouble he is in now
I would have to go back to 1990 on him
Ted is another
Till he whacked me in the head accidentally with my own seven iron
I miss the Saturday mornings watching the Smurfs and School House Rock
I miss the Dunkin Donuts and red hot jawbreakers
I wish I was back in Yellowstone watching the geysers and hot springs
I wish I could go to Mars and have some real privacy
I wish I could go back in time when there was only 200 million people
And not the 7.5 billion we have right now
I would like to live in Norway or Canada
Where people are treated with respect
Yes, I like it there wherever I am
Because where I am at isn't too peaceful

Andrew Dice Clay

I started listening to him in 1992
Andrew Dice Clay
A filthy mouthed comedian
The first album I listened to was 40 Too Long
He still performs at the Laugh Factory in Las Vegas
I was watching The Nutty Professor with Jerry Lewis
I think Andrew got his character from this movie
Even some of the lines are the same as in his act
His comedy is not for everyone
He did get kicked off of Saturday Night Live for life
He did some of his bad material in a commercial setting
I remember George Carlin could never really relax on tv for the same reason
TV is a commercial profit run machine
The likes of Andrew Dice Clay just don't fit into that media outlet
I still listen to him from time to time
He is best known for his dirty nursery rhymes

Help Us Save Charlie Gard - It's going to be Hard!

I've been following the story about Charlie Gard
It caught me off guard
It's so heartbreaking that his own parents have no say
They have been outnumbered by the judges and courts and all we can do is pray
Has the U.K. become third world?
Or have the doctors and judges vision become blurred
Dedicated doctors save lives
Good Judges are fair and wise
By removing Charlie's life support that constitutes murder for this baby boy
We are talking about taking a human life, not playing with a toy
The saddest thing of all is that people in power have lost their way
They have forgotten that they too, are not here to stay
If we do not join forces to stop this madness, baby Charlie will die
Please sign Charlie's petition, let's all give it a try.

Carrie

That classic revenge movie
Carrie
What if she had not lost it
But shared her talent with the rest of the class
Some talent that could have earned her real respect
Hey guys watch this!
Then make the chalk write by itself on the chalk board
Or raise someone up in the air
She could have sold tickets and made a fortune
Uri Geller used to pretend he had this power
I was a big believer when I was a kid
I think her ability to move large objects was made possible by her revenge
The need to make things right with those who had wronged her
Like making a car swerve and blow up with John Travolta in it
So what about all the kids going back to school
The ones who just can't fit in or don't want to
They don't have Carrie's powers
Which I guess is a good thing
Because if they did this whole country would be one huge blood bath

About this poem:
If you've ever been bullied in school, home, or at work you have to root for this girl, just hoping she could have found a way out of the bully thing and made a good life for herself as I wish all who are tramatized by the mean bullies out there.

Mercenary

Where is the honor
fighting
for a country
where your women
and your children
cannot even
walk their streets
without fear
Where is the honor
fighting
for a government
that gives you
nothing
but pious words
nothing
but a park bench
cardboard blanket
and a hard pillow
for your wounds
Where is the honor
when you shout
those hollow words
for freedom
for justice
for liberty

To Hard

Mum
what is fake news
any news
that tells the truth baby
but why mum
why
because baby
if I start to listen
to the truth
I will start to understand
how ignorant
I really am
and its best
for you to baby
to listen to
fake news
why mum
because baby
if you don't
you will begin to see
the promise I broke
the day you were born
that I intended to keep
but that promise
I made
the day
you were born
is a promise
that's easier to fake
so long
as you believe
what you see on T.V
you will always
be free
from the pain of the truth
that bitter sweet taste
that the freedom
of your future
is to hard
to create

Burger King

Burger King
Has come to our town
I used to go to the one in Dubuque back in the 90's
I would get the Whopper Jr., small fries, and a small Mello Yello
2.22
I upgraded to a large on Tuesday, August 15
6.90
Quite a difference 21 years makes
ding fries are done
I gotta run
I work at Burger King
Making flame broiled whoppers
I wear paper hats
Would you like an apple pie with that?
Don't touch the fries in hot fat
It really hurts bad
And so do skin grafts
Wait for the bell
Can't hear the bell
Where is the bell?
Ding fries are done!

My Fingers

A circle surrounded by circles around my pinky
The one next to that has the same
My middle finger has an upward swoosh that starts from the left
The one by my thumb has a mountain like design
And my thumb has an upward swoosh like my middle finger
That was my right hand
On my left hand starting at my pinky
a swoosh upward starting from the right on every finger
except for the one next to my pinky which is circles
I use my left thumb to purchase food and drink items in the cafeteria
It can recognize my unique thumb print and identify me by it
Maybe in the future we won't need cash
We can just purchase everything with our thumb print
