soulgoddess challenge peace

For all around i hear
the voices of the
young asking for peace
to be supported by
every end.
They want war to stop
and peace to begin.
They can not believe
how long the war has
gone on for.
I wait patiently to
see if this will happen
in my time or for thee.
I pray to God for him
to bring peace for
all of his country.
I devote this to my
fellow comrades who
serve with me and
now protect this

Write For Peace (Soulgoddess challenge-Acrostic)

Worldwide love of nature shared by all
Responsible leaders whose egos fall
Into cities let the green earth sprawl
Take the hand of all those who crawl
Energy made by every roof and wall

Foster belief in fairness for us all
Outlaw nuclear weapons in a brawl
Respect those who answer our call

Prayers when natural disasters befall
Equality for all nations in every trawl
A place for every culture at the mall
Creating goodwill by standing tall
Every voice is heard at town hall

About this poem:
Acrostic poetry style to hopefully list a few universal ideals for "Peace" which I believe really starts with 'respect' and 'equality' for everyone else in the world.

when your ready

Don't let it fool you
From the outside looking in
Those walls are made of hardness
An painted with a grin
So much to hide an maybe not
Its never really a sin
Your way to say not today
I hold the key to let you in
It maybe the distance of time
Thats procured your reasoning
Or just a lonely soul
Who doesn't know where to begin
Relationships broken
An thrown in the bin
Childhood dilemma's
Embracing a sin
There is always more that meets the eye
How you personify is at your whim
So you walk your way an i'll walk mine
An i'll acknowlege your painted grin
An when your ready to expose yourself
I'll listen with ear an kin

Please Sir , Mam

Modern toys for you and me
are dreams for others to
visualize but never see.
They have, but only food,
morsels for themselves
and their family.
Clothes are there nothing
special for not a one
for no money there for
eccentricities.
Each day they would wish
and dream for food enough
for the day.
They would even hope for
water to come there way.
This was the life of poverty
you see for everyone poor
was that way.
Can you not see how lucky
we are today to not have
to exist but enjoy life
in our own way.
Pray for those less fortunate
then thee for you know one day
it could even be me.

Paul Ryan

He's so handsome
He's so fit
He's as good looking as Sarah Palin
but he doesn't wear designer glasses
He comes from Wisconsin
Janesville to be exact
He has a wife and three children
He's a good speaker
But...
He wants to cut the budget
Take away social security
So they say
His running mate is Mitt Romney
He looks like an evil man riding a horse
He has shipped jobs away
He has money in Swiss Bank accounts
Like Sarah
Part of me wants to like him
But he is a Republican
Like Reagan and the Bushes
Not like Lincoln at all
I can't vote for him
I couldn't vote for Walker either
But you gotta admit
He's a good speaker

About this poem:
This whole election has me troubled. Last time I was all happy to vote for Barack Hussain Obama. Now it's like in 1992, but no Ross Perot to be found.

A Broken Ladder

Cautiously I walk night hours on mean street
Pitbull stretched on chains waiting to attack
Courthouse stands behind reinforced concrete
Reminders of life we want to take back

Sirens erupt and shatter peaceful night
Screeching tires lay down rubber's foolish grin
An old lady pulls down her shades in fright
Lonely souls wait for darkness to begin

Loud are idle youth that travel in packs
Pretend to be brave and laughing out loud
Carelessly roaming and crossing wrong tracks
A fight breaks out inside a huddled crowd

Ends to vulgarity is violence
When jobless youth are loosing innocence

About this poem:
In this sonnet reflects a commentary of our times
when society sows seeds for destruction by a collective failure of its leadership to allow ways for "all its members" to climb up the social-economic ladder.

What A Poet Said (Acrostic)

What is it that you write here on this page
How do you manage these words so scrambled
And sometimes people think that they make sense
These words so carelessly flung hither and tither
And yet, when ever so closer we shall look
Perhaps these words twist and twirl, a dance
Or so it seems, to some distant unheard music
Ever onwards, then upwards and outwards
Til finally they reach their final destination
So my friends, it is there I will leave you
And bid my final farewell, Adieu, adieu, adieu
I am gone, finished, concluded
Departed, left, not here

Mama Me Me A

The words jostle and shove inside my head.....Each night as i lay in my bed......Choose ME i am the best word ever said.....NO NO choose heart because i rule your head.....The words continue and get more bold......STOP i scream but they will not be told.....Right wrong good bad happy and sad.....Choosing the right word is really hard...Jostle and shove i will never get to sleep....And its no use counting sheep.....Mad and crazy keep pushing to the front...But just as they reach new words give them a shunt....ME ME ME is the top word of today....Me before you i am the first to play....Me is the most greedy word of all.....ME ME ME ME I NEED IT ALL.......jw

Metered Thoughts

One meter for two spaces
quarters inserted into slot, yet
no time gained upon the clock.

Arrows pointing left and right
delayed awareness came,
Coins offered for whose gain?

Meter’s memory held, though
button pushed out of turn
credit given for payment made.

Contemplating how many coins needed
to exactly cover appointment’s span
avoid ticketing was clear demand.

Abruptly, thoughts changed to wonder
why so much energy expended
on how many coins hand extended.

Maximum-time coins were given
gift to fellow traveler or town
small gesture to humanity bound.

At departure, another approaches
those extra coins entered
allows weary traveler to save.

Arrival finds gift of time
and contemplates
how a smile is made.

Driving back toward home
marveling, how clear things are
when pockets are full.
