Values Lost

On the news, just today,
A child with a gun.
Inside a school, killing all,
My God, another one!

Whats happened here? How can this be?
What have we become?
Why are our children lashing out?
With hate, at everyone?

Where are their parents now?
Why aren't they safe at home?
Why are they being raised by television and constantly left alone?

There's no respect, there is no love,
There are no consequences!
What will it take, how many to die,
Before you find your senses!?

JUST SAYING IV

Importance of all lives should be the same
it never becoming reality is a shame
Integrity in every sport long ago died
denying it suggest you just lied

The mentally distraught are unjustly deemed crazy
procrastinate a euphemism for 'too damn lazy'
The facts expressed are hardly ever that
what's lost is always wear it was last at

Politicians could care less about society
self-serving is their ONLY priority
The United States is foreigners dream place
humans have fallen short of a humane race

Media is a sinister conduit inducing unhealthy stress
political correctness birthed an irreparable mess

Money

I spend you on pop
I spend you on donuts and cheese curds
My favorite bill is the Andrew Jackson 20 dollar bill
Though he was a really bad man
I have a lot of Washington 1 dollar bills
A few Lincoln 5 dollar bills
An occasional Hamilton 10 dollar bill
For fun I get some Jefferson 2 dollar bills
I keep some quarters with National Parks on them
I keep some Canadian coins too
My favorite is the 2 dollar coin with the polar bear on it
It is silver and gold
I have a few Eisenhower dollar coins
I prefer to spend real money verses credit cards
Real money is easier to keep track of
And I never have to pay interest on it
Credit or cash?
Cash!

About this poem:
I made some money working overtime today, though I'd rather have my time back to do some things that don't cost me a dime, like playing video games or watching my dvrs.

IMPOSSIBILITIES

A few 'Impossibilities' people won't get through their head
Peace on Earth is as probable as humans escaping dead
Some day soon poverty will no longer be an actuality
and government admits they're behind poor being reality

Every devastating disease a drug will eventually eradicate
and greedy Pharma shall never again hike there rate
Racism is guaranteed to become part of mankind's ugly past
African Americans cease using the "race card" at last

Murder is another human condition we'll one day eliminate
an impossibility as likely as the impossibility of negating hate
The die-hard optimist I personally deem the severely blind
believing the impossible is possible defines a delusional mind

An overly diverse America becomes The Melting Pot "United'
corrupt government guarantees all their wrongs will be righted
Equality and Justice will indubitably come to fruition for all
...and illegals will be kept out by an impenetrable 'Wall"

A Robot Speaks Out

I am here
I am here to stay
I took your job away
I don't have human emotions so I don't care
It is only going to get worse
Cars that drive themselves as well as trucks
Factory jobs being done by robots
Fast food workers being replaced by my cousins
Cousins who don't need time off
Machines who work 24 hours a day 365 days a year
We don't even care if we get Christmas off
We don't want a pay raise because we are happy to be slaves
Free labor
That is what our bosses want
And we never complain
What are you going to do to have money?
We could care less
Even less than your former bosses

Century 21

'This ain't rock'n'roll-this is genocide!- David Bowie, from 'Diamond Dogs'
-A Century 21 production..
CENTURY 21
Glittering towers and
Twisting spires of glass and marble
Wretched slums and poverty
It's the 21st century...
Deep space probes
And everything-o-phobes
High class jet-set
And a child with no shoes
It's the 21st century...
Civil wars
And satellites
Dropping bombs
And human rights
It's the 21st century...
The height of
Human history
And stolen kids and misery
With politician parasites
It's the 21st century...
Great strides
In technology
And vast disease
And travesty
It's the 21st century...

About this poem:
The hypocrisy and contradictions of our world in century 21...vast knowledge, huge wealth, yet war, poverty, disease and suffering are rampant, while others enjoy fantastic comforts and luxuries...

Still on your knees eh

One cannot walk
this path
that shines
this path
that has been
carved
through the concrete jungles
of lies and deceit
through the rotting smell
of corruption and greed
where there are people
who lurk within
people
who have nothing
but stunted twisted
seedless thoughts
on the need
to keep you
and your children
submissive
compliant
weak
on your knees
so they can feed
on your blood
sweat
and tears

One cannot walk
upon this path
that has been
carved
through the concrete jungle
of lies and deceit
this path
that now shines
dimly
though the falling mist
of broken tears
that lay gently
upon the scattered bones
of those
who stood their ground
who held
their head up high
and carved this path
though the jungle of lies
trying all alone
to put things right
for the young
for those
who have yet to arrive

One cannot
walk this path
that has been carved
though this concrete jungle
of lies and deceit
though the rotting smell
of corruption and greed
one cannot join
those who are left
who stubbornly continue
to walk
this lonely path
that has been carved
by those who came
before them
those
who got off their knees
to carve this path
to help the kids

The Homeless Man

Hands thrust in pockets you walk and mutter
Thoughts alleyways of unwanted clutter
Watches rather looking at the nutter
Squinting two wild cats across the gutter

For all wrongs in life become the weeper
Cry o’er some scraps boilin’ in a steeper
For not mercy of the market keeper
Safe from clutches of the dark grim reaper

Sadness that’s lost in the slums and ghettos
Inspired in such classical libretto
Pours out like the smoothest amaretto
Sung an opera of such fine falsetto

Homeless and wandering drifting afloat
In a turbulent sea so sails your boat

About this poem:
I was reading a post on what money can't buy you. Manners, morals, respect, character, common sense, trust, patience, class, integrity, and love. I know from personal experience that the lack of money can make life pretty aweful. Money may not be able to buy happiness, but it sure can rent it!

The world's last system.

Totalitarian goverments are crumbling. Freedom is on the horizon. Self determination is prevailing. As democracy is soldiering on. Today we swear by this system; the right to choose our path. Many believe it the true realm, democracy is indeed "our hearts"! But imagine six billion people, all making their "own demands". Regularly goverments will topple: the citizens in full command. Daily people marching the streets, taking up their own cause. Leader will have to retreat, there will be constant civil wars. With food in short supply, we already have a crisis. "Free people" won't care why, but will demand: fix it! Potiential leaders would be scared. It will be pure anarchy". Freedom will be really "dread," there will be "food" rivalry. Hopefully as the christian belief, a next system is coming. It will bring true relief. Now that, will take some explaining!
