theysay

they say we'll come to our end one day
they say we just won't matter
they say we'll become our own prey
with thoughts as mad as a hatter

they say we'll run out of water
they say we'll run out of food
they say we'll kill or be slaughtered
they say we'll come to no good

they say civility's near an end
they say there's no use in tryin'
they say our actions only portend
civilization's weakness's underlyin'

they say we don't know what we're doin'
and perhaps it's true, we don't
seems like the whole world we're screwin'
but maybe the prediction's overblown

maybe there's another bend to turn
maybe there is another angle
maybe 'stead of like before, we'll learn
to sort our emotions to better unscramble

maybe love can actually conquer fear
maybe there's a brighter dawn to come
today's weathered is tomorrow's all clear
maybe empathy is our new rule-of-thumb

DIVERSITY #CVII

Animosity permeating society stems from excessive 'Diversity'
reality every 'denier' is bound to call complete absurdity
Answers rarely come from talks between each side
Parties firm stand on own Ideology negates resolving divide

Drastically altering America's landscape curtails lasting peace
'whites' forced into Minority Status assures divisions increase
Humans grapple with why there's a propensity to be 'racist'
I'd surmise 'Human Nature' is the lone reason racism exist

Self-serving corrupt Politics has reached an all-time high
justice coming from Washington D.C. long ago ran dry
This insufferable world induces the best to "Fall from Grace"
'Life's a Gift' a totally fallacious dupe on the human race

The 'Left' believes perpetual 'handouts' makes them morally legit
the 'Right' knows hard work is essential for what you get
Dems pretend to care about 'women and minorities' for a vote
weight of perpetual 'lies and hypocrisy' they're unashamed to tote

Sustaining peace with so many differing beliefs foolish thinking
vast diversity indubitably conducive to the United States sinking

Upstate NY college town

Noontime whistle atop the volunteer fire station
awakens every motorcycle within the radius
repurposing every decibel left over since the big bang
Traffic lanes tighten but keep on moving
the venturi sets empty cups to rolling, with straws still stuck in
whatever
And because some students have cars and cars have tires
a man in hi-viz vest tugs and strains on a 4-way wrench
another friday night oops to support the local economy
His fee will be proportionate to the squeal of stubborn lugs
if the Judge was involved, well then he or she's invoicing too
whatever
No net effect on unlimited data plans
point of sale pizza, flavored vapes, or bedbug powder
Nearest damn salt water beach a good five hour drive
south by southeast in this case
seldom is that considered that do-able from here
local law enforcement barely lets the kids breathe anyway
lucky enough swim in a few nearby mud ponds
or get to finish their courses here
whatever
A lot of apparatus is in place to keep things green
apart and away and unresponsive to rural towns brown
A million congrat's to Yale and Harvard, these; the other
hallowed halls of long-term planning across and threw-outs
this big ol' land o' ours
A quick hundred years having opted in
and cannibalize their own
Voracious appetite can be surgically corrected
absent anesthesia
however which and
whatever
Most of the cups have been squashed by now
the lids and straws need more running over
the yin and yang for not picking them up
The calendar keeps traffic moving
retail supply rolls 24/7
boardrooms collect the stat's

Runaway Love

I want to runaway to where
I am free
Joy of feeling a home to share
Hiding away
I want to catch my first kiss
Trying my way
The magic of my first wish
Lighting up
I want to burn a long candle
A fragrant one
I want to watch over the sand hill
Gazing as one
I just want one to discover
One called ours
I want to reach up and uncover
Secrets inside
I want to curl up and be still
My heart swells
I want to listen to it spill
Louder it beats
The power of its message
Pounding away
I want to swim through its passage
To the other side
Freedom to explore the unknown
Searching for freedom
How grateful love was shown
Escaping away

REO Speedwagon

A friend paid for me to go to your show
59 bucks they decided to blow
We got to enjoy some of your top hits
You've been performing since the 70's
You don't seem to want to quit
You started with Don't Let Him Go
You did a tribute to the shooting in a California bar with Time For Me To Fly
Can't Fight This Feeling
Keep On Loving You
Take It On The Run
And In My Dreams were some of my favorites you performed
I haven't paid for a concert ticket since Weird Al Yankovic in 2000
I enjoy you much more singing in my car
But still I am thankful I got to see live the people who created those songs
The 80's were a majical time for music
And I sure enjoyed you and the rest who created some awesome music!

About this poem:
We had some of the cheapest seats, at 59 dollars. The ones up front I figure went for around 300 dollars. REO Speedwagon is a good show.

Flight of a Dove

I have been hurt
In my weakest places
What’s left to agree on
Accept your solution
Surely you’re not serious
Even if you are
I don’t doubt you are
I just want to hear you say it
What’s going on
We all need some grace
We all need some love
So do not disgrace
Or even try and disguise
The flight of a dove

Justice is served

Wailing losers you are
liars, users and blind
you fail to recognize
you have no place in this land

Trump is the president
all he does for the people
is serving with purpose to
quash you all

You that are deplorable

Now KAVNAUGH is confirmed
your drama is done
you should all go to hell
and should all be burned

Pelosi, Feinstein
and all the stupid, blind democrats
resign.

Virtual Reality

I've been playing video games for years
Pong being my first
Then it was Atari
Nintendo came in around 1984
I got my first Sega in 1995
Then it was Playstation in 1998
After that I got an XBox in 2004
I got a Nintendo DS in 2011
Which is a handheld game you can take with you anywhere
Now they have Virtual Reality arcades
Where you wear a goggle headset and are put into the game
I did my first on July 30 of this year
It was Google Earth where you can fly to different famous location on Earth
15 bucks for 30 minutes
So today I'm going to go play a zombie game
I've had a lot of fun playing all these games!

NO AND'S IF'S OR BUT'S #CVI

The 'Left' has reached completely Nuts
it's palpable truth... No And's If's or But's
Whenever they speak they blatantly lie
reality has officially passed them by

Incessant rhetoric is purposeful to divide
nonsense is every word they provide
Wickedness consumes the 'Left's' mind
berate all who dare oppose their kind

The 'Left' has obviously dismissed reason
propaganda more damaging than any season
Media relish exacerbating contentious news
help 'looney liberals' Spin all the 'Rights' views

Treatment of those across the aisle hostile
2016 election turned Demoncrats utterly vile
Everyday they relentlessly Bash our President
ruthless disrespect before White House resident

They sabotage hope for bettering our Nation
while proclaiming to fight for future generation
More ominous than deadliest slithering snake
their insanity surpassed levels sane folks can take

Dems say 'alternative facts' aren't factual in any way
yet News outlets shovel it Twenty Four hours a day
Communist progressives push for Americas' decline
gaslighting essential piece of their wicked design

Establishment Republicans share blame to be fair
what "We The People" want Politicians don't care

King for a minute !

As I sit in quiet solitude,
Contemplating on my life,
I have come to somewhat realise,
That I couldn't use my eyes
To see the truth and the reality
Of our politicians' lies.
But I use my intuition
To make up my lack of vision
To deduce some of the nuances
Which in life attack my senses.

Neither left, and nor the right
Care for anyone, but for their fight.
To get back and be reelected,
To enjoy the fruits of power.
And dish out their non prescriptive pill,
Dictate to the multitude, if you will.
While the sheep will baaaa and clap,
To the victor, a winner's lap.
Whether Blue, or Red or Green,
We the people pay for their scene.

So I came to realise,
Best to not be very wise,
For to be so, it is fruitless
Unless you're prepared to care less,
And maybe join in their ranks,
Even if it's just in the flanks
You'll be one of the preferred
And a little bit more cared,
For eventually they're only after one thing,
It's your vote, you'd be made king.

Except you're only royalty for a minute,
And once it's cast, you're back to nothing!
As I sit back and contemplate,
How the masses can be happy,
With the crumbs that fall to ground,
And the fat lords with abundance,
Graceless, truthless, heartless even,
Play with our lives; yours and mine.

Yet we clap for their attention,
As we pray for a minor mention,
In their prayers to their gods,
But I'd bet against all odds,
We the plebeians are just pawns
In their international game,
Of who's the greatest? Who's the name,
That will live in history books?
Who is daring, who so brave
To change this thirst for wealth and power,
It's not Trump, or May, or Kim
Nor indeed Vladimir Putin.

If you ask me who to nominate,
I'd reply let's concentrate,
For I cannot think of any one
Who is really equipped to lead
The exodus from this present dread.

In the end, we are all dead,
And that's what makes us -
The powerful, the rich, the poor,
The haughty and the meek -
All equal, so to speak.
