making breakfast for the wolves

Making breakfast for the Wolves

We offer gall to sheep seeking clear brook water.
Brown fields have deputized themselves,
laying waste green pastures.
The sun is gorged with fire before
it peeks above the Eastern rim.
Autumn now bargains with passing artists
for their pallets.
Horse drawn sleighs that sliced through powdered snow,
that pealed hello, faces laughing
all aglow, now sink in mire,
the only sound, the chewing mud.
We are the Shylock artist stroking wide
a swath of paint on canvas, the color of lost.
And in our pretended effort we have become
breakfast for the wolves.
We have become the thirsty lamb.

About this poem:
The maintenance man, at the request of a tenant cut branches from a tree outside her window so she could see the driveway.?? I thought what would happen if the tree did not turn c leaves because they could no longerolors in the fall because of too much cutting? Would we bargin an artist for his pallet to paint the colors on the leaves because they could no change themselves. There is no more snow for sleighs oly wet mud and mireand the sleighs are chewed up by the mud. Have we become so lax ss to give gall to a thirsting lam as they did the Lamb of God? Is there any hopthat we will care or will we become breakfast for the wolves??

Poverty

Poverty is shackled human spirits burdened with ignorance with no relation to power or mission.
Its mucky existence can be repeated from generation to generation with premission to be re-birthed.
Carefully crafted adjustments in education and real life experiences are a sobering realization to its end.
Poverty is not a black man’s ballot; its dim overcast is a growing shadow over many.
Let’s not handicap ourselves with the gleam notion that poverty is just tied to dollars and cents.
The burning desire to escape its grip is rendered in the soul that seeks it.
Education is the great avenger stretched over time in opposition of conformity.
The intrinsic notion of eradicating poverty would derail our system and eliminate opportunities that stricken us so violently.
We are an embittered society with unlimited resources to institute change and to promote the general welfare of all.
A deeper commitment to education is the ointment to eradicate the aches and pains of poverty and loosen its grip.

Something's Missing

They don't like old fashioned talk
But since they no longer listen
Things haven't gone so well
Something's missing and it seems that no one can tell

It's all about war
And the weather isn't right
Everybody's got to have more
But holding less tonight

Is it some kind of sleep walking
Does anybody know
Are we under a mysterious spell
Something's missing and it seems that no one can tell

A sink hole,a volcanco and the west is going dry
A mud slide, a riot and what are they spraying in the sky
What once was rotten in Denmark is now a worldly trail
Something's missing and it seems that no one can tell

Apaachia little boys perspective

Our house is made of old wood Grandpa
foundAround the woods.
They were as dead then as he is now.
A white basin with a red ring around it,
Sets by my bed and catches the rain.
A lot of times the rain misses the basin
And drips on my bed.
My bed feels damp most of the time.
My little aster gets sick a lot
So she gets to sleep at
The bottom of the bed tat stays dry more often.
I hear people talking outside by the food trucks
About how pretty the woods are after a rain.
But they never slept in my bed.
I wish I could like the rain.
Maybe some day when my bed stays dry.

TRUTH II

Democracy makes it easier for low life suits to set the guilty scum free
most often culminating in more families being shattered needlessly
I wouldn't suggest justice never prevails because occasionally it does
'Justice For All'... indubitably the most fallacious promise that ever was

American democracy first and foremost assures the relevant rich excel
and equally instrumental in our country turning into an un-American hell
Our Nation becomes less of an America with each passing day
many more patriots certainly agree with every word I display

Pretzel laws of democracy guarantee injustice will always reign here
apparently governments purpose is keeping society in constant fear
If they truly cared about our welfare like they mendaciously declare
they'd cut their ridiculous salaries which would help pay for health care

Prove allegiance to 'We the People' by actually acting on our behalf
start by limiting Big businesses ability to give public the shaft
You politicians are only about power and prestige and us you deceive
TRUTH is you know all are not given equal opportunity to achieve

It's unconscionable that folks are starving and living on our city streets
the wealthiest Nation could house the homeless and assure everyone eats
Here the rich get richer with no care for the indigent who go without
just another injustice indicative of what Americas' mostly about!

The Honest Candidate

Vote for me!
I care about me and the huge piles of money I will make
I get paid to send jobs out of the country
I get all my health care for free
While you go in debt just to see a dentist
I want to help the rich get richer
I support high interest money lending companies
I want the national debt to keep rising
So one day all the taxes will go to interest
So China can build more cities five times as big as New York City
I am happy that only 18 percent of 18 year olds vote
Candidates like me exist because of voter apathy
So thank you generation screwed for staying home on election day
I love Barack Hussein Obama
I loved George W Bush
I love them because their elections prove to me that anyone
And I mean anyone can get elected
Especially if they get enough money to get elected
I approve this message!
Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha!

About this poem:
I get tired of all the lies candidates spew on their election campaigns. For once I thought what would they really say if they told the truth.

ten words my challenge ( the pitt)

Monument stand tall in valleys deep
Green tainted by industrial cities
Creative stands tall stained
Of life silent now stands

Where once the revolution of wokers
Tirless worked
Resolute in there work
Now motionless
Absent

Of work and life

Night At The Movie Theater

Stand in line
Get my ticket
Wait in another line
Get my water
It's cheaper than pop
1.75 vs 4.50
And I don't have to miss the movie to go to the bathroom
Plus I save about 1100 calories on refills
Beefsticks, soft serve ice cream, chocolate covered pretzels
Miss the mini tubs of icecream, Moose Tracks was my favorite
Grab some napkins
Wait for the movie
See a local ad on suicide prevention from Iowa County high schoolers
Same county I work in
Same night I saw Robin Williams in Night at the Museum
Get some prezel bites with cheese later
Discover a big cheese stain on my shirt
Got the shirt from Bubba Gump Shimp at the Mall of America
Play some pinball
Win one game
Drive to Walmart to kill some time from 8:45 to about 9:10
Drive home
Still need to put the movie stub in my scrap book
I use old calendars for my scrap booking

Letter the world 6

You clock out as the countdown begins again for the next day of work,
Yet instead of innovation we prefer to have our icons twerk.
To devalue a dollar and make us materialistic,
With goals so shallow and unrealistic.
Yet we sit and swallow down the propaganda of the world,
Forced to catch the messages that are hurled.
Take a breath and pick up the philosophical tote,
By making you think before going to vote.

About this poem:
Growing up we are taught that the definition to insanity is repeating the same action over and over again with the idea you will receive a different result. Yet every 2 or 4 years we vote for these "people" who lie to us just so they can pad their resume.
