heart

the light shines bright in the morning fog
the sun set is bright and there's no smog
i wrote a letter only to my own heart
your beautiful thank you for what you are
striving for the warmth in the darkest night
as light as a feather as flies on by
let me sink into this beautiful dream
as i write not only for you but also for me

Scattering

We ran with lions across the wild Serengeti
Scaled the Himalayas for the elusive yeti
Danced the dance of the glorious antelope
As we lived our romance in kaleidoscope

Spreading young wings wider than the albatross
As time drifted on by in clouds of candyfloss
Along the Nile we collected crocodile tears
Swam with dolphins who allayed any fears

Floated in time with the brightest humming bird
Roamed over the plains with a mighty bison herd
Absorbed blood red sunsets in a desert dream
Waited for the stars in a glorious array of agleam

Saw polar bears stare as we scaled the frozen land
All these we discovered never leaving hand in hand
Then history tells us that time becomes an outcast
As the wonder years sped on by from first to last

Our world had now spun from dawn to full eclipse
As you parted that final kiss upon my cold lips
Take me my love further than I have ever been
And let me see the future that your eyes have seen

Across all the rivers and over the many oceans
From mountain tops to the desert of emotions
Take me my love to be always by your side
And allow our memories as your life’s guide

She scattered my ashes across her life
Upon the plains that had seen so much strife
She took them higher than an eagle dare
And deeper than a heart could ever share

Will you weep to capture all of our past
Will tears lie as salt lakes until the last
Scatter me my love upon your very soul
Scatter me wherever you lay your bowl
Scatter me amongst all your sad emotions
Scatter me once again as you cross the Oceans

And when all to you appears to be lost
And life seems to be covered in the cold frost
Take heart my love and hear the new fawn
And live and live upon the new dawn

Walk in grace with me

Share my journey as company
Walk my love in grace with me
Weary my step and shortened my gait
That takes me along this challenging strait

We'll share the more and hurt the less
The ascent will take us till our rest
Taken through wandering in fields designed
Restoring our hearts, my soul, a mind

A bridge to cross over waters rushing
A tide within a long time pulling
Join so with me on loving quest
Together we'll reach that perfect crest

Frogs Lament

Why are you so cruel to us
Our legs you rip right off
Have to make do with wooden legs
So we can hobble around
All of this for frog legs feast
And there's not too much to eat
Or is it because when you kiss us
A prince we don't become
Please tell me I want to know
Why are you so cruel to us

Rhyme

How do you make a rhyme, take a word and play with it for a time
Place it in your head, like the colours purple or red
Purples not blue but a large part of it is its true
My favourite colour is black but I won’t speak of that
Red will rhyme with bed but hard to get in a sentence that is right when read
I now seem to spend far too much time playing with words that rhyme

When I Wake Up Every Morning

When I wake up every morning
I always watch you for a while
Then I kiss you very lightly,
Watch your lips turn to a smile.

Then you ask me what time is it,
And I whisper in your ear
That the time hardly matters
When you’re lying warm and near.

Your smile grows slightly wider
But you turn your face away
Hide your head under a pillow
Try to cheat the break of day.

Your hair wisps round about you
Flows like water to your hips
But your neck soon bare before me
Feels the pressure of my lips.

Then I touch you very lightly
Run my fingers down your spine
And your body gently waking
Turns till your eyes gaze into mine.

And in that very moment
That I look into your eyes
When I wake up every morning
I am lost in paradise.

Calling the Dead

We speak
their names into the sky,
across the void
we call out to them.

We seek signs
they have made it through-
to give us a word, some hint
of what happens
when we die.

They don't reply-

just stand in the shadows
and shake their heads at us.

Oh, False You

Are you going to stand?
Like the man you say you are?
Or are you gonna run
Like an athlete from Jamaica?

Sweet like sugar she was to you
Easy like pie,
She thought you a dream come true
But You lied when you said
Your love will never die

She gave her trust then her love
She thought you'd just come down from above..
Specially created for her
Like an answer to a long lost prayer.

Didn't know was a game you played
Like a worn out guitar
You drew from her till she knew
It was all take and no give with you

Within her arms
A babe now lies,
The product of a love
No longer true
An almost exact replica of you.

And now... imprisoned,
Behind a self made cell
Afraid to love, to trust again
Maybe.. just maybe
A hero might come....
But for now...
Who can tell?

In the angel's arms

An angel came and took your hand
"God is ready" he whispered softly
"It is your time to join us now
but you looked at him with worry "

"Your family will be fine" he said
Smiling tenderly and calmly
"They will survive you taught them well
With patience and love fully "

Your journey here on earth is over
Your pain and suffering is through
Your heavenly home awaits you now
The angels waits to welcome you

Granny you have gone to heaven
And while we cry tears of sadness
We smile in remembrance of
Your love, patience and kindness

So go softly with the angels now
And rest safely in their arms
As heaven awaits your presence
But we'll miss your precious charms
