Alien limerick

There once was a man so green,
From a galaxy we've never seen,
When I asked "Can I go?",
He sadly said "No...,
Humans only dare dream..."

Humanity's future

Bleak without my freedom
Choice I was given none
Out of fear you trod away
Resigned from it all
Submission to defeat
A call you obliged to
At the expense of my future
In the hands of bigots
terror clad robbers
An offering of my guts and
Spilled my lifeless body
In a cup of sand covered with blood.

But,
Over my dead body will I lose sight of my children's future.

We have as much right to be who we are and I will fight till my last breath is charged protecting that right, wouldn't you?

About this poem:
In honor of a world we once knew which will disappear because of our indifference and nonchalance.

It's easier to accept defeat especially for those who are weak.

A Little Poem for You

Let me stay a little longer
so I can leave something
behind me
Then you can take
it and always...
remember me.

About this poem:
...more like a song - just popped into my head, so wrote it down. Not being a poet or musician, I've never had that happen before...

Just thinking of going to visit someone, then having to leave...

(Sure hoping it's not someone else's words. I googled it... doesn't appear I got it from anyone-lol-be sure & write me, though, if it seems familiar)

Buried

I gathered
All of the loneliness
And laid it to rest
In a tomb
Named “Hope”
So many attended
To say their
Last goodbyes
And wish
A final adieu
To a now
Forgotten emotion
Who had haunted
Them for so long
They smiled
And caressed
With hands
That could
Now feel a future
The tomb
Named “Hope”

I gathered
All I could
Of life’s emptiness
And sealed it
In a bottle
Named “Desire”
And set it adrift
In the sea
Named “Tranquillity”
Never more
To again
See the shores of life
So many attended
To bid their
Last goodbyes
And wash away
An unwanted fear
Who had journeyed
With them for so long
But now
Was cast aside
Like he’s brother
Who lay
In a tomb
Named “Hope”

And of all
My gatherings
The most that
Brought me comfort
Was “Despair”
For my journey
Had finally allowed
Me to cast aside
This
The most destructive
Of my Demons
And once again
I could taste
“Life”

I am Finally Free

sinking in the maelstrom
of tumultuous thoughts
caught in the rage of storms
blizzards of gales unforgiving
as your bipolar moods
like prisms of light so blinding
grinding me so frayed
down to the core of my bones
but..
even as wasted and hopeless
I have become
it's my time to turn around
unflinching and untiring
no more giving up
I will face you head on
oh mighty and brutish shadow
oh wicked and diabolical
spirit of my past
I have had enough
it's time for me to be free
to be solo again
facing my future on my own
alone, and even if I fail
over and over again
I will not be your slave
anymore, I am so done
I will not succumb
this time
nor will I run ever again
God is my witness
I am finally free.

I will move on.

It seems like just the other day
Your frail body .....just lay
Within the walls of Gods hospice
Yearning for your inner peace
You thought that maybe you would last
To the day you held fast
But alas the eve you could not surpass
For time had come... it was your last
I hope you still hear your piano sing
The beautiful sounds that it did bring
Your delicate hands dancing on key
Lost forever in melody
I hope you still feel the salty air
The early dawns you wanted to share
The ocean sounds that gave life
To an enthusiasm rich with strife
I hope you still see your family grow
Your children.... with their children in tow
The sounds of laughter you did admire
You smiled with eyes that would never tire
I hope you still smell the spices abound
Enticing hunger pains within the frowns
Satisfying all who would sit down
For more was .....always the sound
I hope that you never forget
That your life was never regret
Special memories full of respect
As i sit ponder and reflect.........

Salt in the Snow

Embedded image from another site

Five below freezing
Coughing
And sneezing
There I lay in the snow
Zero below beating
My heart still repeating
From warm thoughts to bleeding
Tears fell from my eyes
To the earth they were fleeting
Like salt melting snow
From liquid to fro-
Zen like Heavenly feelings
Wanting warm sand between toes
Darkness became light
With such wondrous sights
I could see the threshold of forever
And forever was bright
Then I thought about you
My world again became blue
Deflating like helium
Sucked from balloons
Tho for a moment I wept
As my heart found content
With holding the memories
of the time that we spent
And I only want more
Still so much to explore
Like an astronaut thinks of space
Am I wrong to adore
Your warm gentle face
Floating in place
Over fields of wild sunflowers
Dancing with grace
And it s there that I wonder
At those times when I should
But sometimes to feel hunger
is the best kind of food
But I've licked that plate clean
To a shiny crown for a king
Over an empire of frost
Praying for spring
So then I watched the horizon
Ignite a new sky
Contemplating my journey
Finding whats left inside
Only allowed to have kept
all the things that I've lost
Beyond the emptiness of never
And all that it cost
So until I get to the place
Where I left my heart broke
I'll wander this world forever
A warrior
... Guided by hope

About this poem:
Im Chilly Willy the penguin.
I shake until I’m blue.
My head is hot and my feet are cold.
Ha…Hee…Hachoo!
Now what about the crocodiles along the river Nile?
I’ll bet they’re always warm as toast.
They always seem to smile.
I’m always Chilly Willy.
I’m frozen through and through.
My nose is red and my tale is told.
Ha…Hee…Hachoo!

Reaching for the Light

Such a short life the sunflower has;
but, aah, the glory of it! From its
small, flat, pointed dark-brown seed,
it seeks out the moisture of the soil.
Using summer-sun heat, it bursts,
portending an elongated exterior.
First break in its life-encasing shell
gives way to a sprout, straight up,

ready to go. The stalk displays
the chlorophyll product
of solar rays as its sprint
to meet its creator begins.
Inch begets inch as
cells beget leaf after leaf—
each thick, verdant, curly—
showing off an expansive surface

eager to absorb and transform
light and rain into energy.
This factory continues to
work, day in, day out, until
its efforts begin to pay off
with a much-anticipated reward.
A one-and-only bud forms
on the now-towering stalk.

Thick and rough fibers
stacked side-by-side under
tiny hairs glistening in the sun
give texture to brownish-green stem
join forces to remain erect
able to sway in the gentle
and oft not-so-gentle breezes.
Yellow-gold ray florets begin

to peer out into the world above—
with little thought to what got
them to such great height.
They spread themselves out
proudly in a spiral pattern
handed down to them, ready
for the kiss of the rain and
caress of the butterfly,

forming a vibrant ring around
the future - dense, dark, prickly
to the touch - filled with promise.
As its work is completing,
the sunflower bows its head
to the birth-giving ground,
gives thanks for its season,
waits for the cycle of life to repeat—
this reaching for the light.

Batman

Embedded image from another site

Hello citizens of Gotham city
I'm here to save you
beware enemies of romantic love
in my tights of black and gray..

To you Batwoman
when I touch you
it's like holding my breath
for hours and days
even years
then coming up for air..

Then when the black dots
appear in my vision
I remove all of my bat layers
after freezing all winter long
I take it all off
and run naked through the Joker's garden..

I am dark and mysterious
ever so dangerous
a taunting shadow walking
I am your dark knight
strong willed
and hard headed..

Colliding Galaxies

Embedded image from another site

I become animal
with her
and animals
know no sin...

Dark and delicious
is she
knot of love
ever tightening...

We lay
watching shadows
on the wall
each others faces
she plays with my hair...

Erotic photons
we become
galaxies colliding
exploding into
a million pieces
crashing into one another..
