These cypriot men.

Family is his heart,
and all that he will strive for.
Working day and night,
if that is what is called for.

Gentle strength,in his silence,
when concerns lurk within.
Search an action to be taken,
so that he may begin.

Collecting mushrooms sweet contentment,
curve of mountain against skies.
His pleasure in the outside,
sleeping stars where he lies.

Hunting game is excitement,
animated stories to be told.
His football seals alliance,
he knows his place,in the world.

Cooked meat in his care,
taking stock from his seat.
joyous feeling in the moment,
children playing at his feet.

A Christmas Beneath The Stars :)

The cattle were bedded down on the hill
It was a peaceful sight that I saw
The winter moon hung high in the sky
Casting shadows on the side of the draw.

The Christmas lights on the ranch house below
Sparked a thought of a night gone by
When shepherds watching over their flocks
Heard the message from the sky.

I stopped and looked at the stars above
And listened where all was quiet
Then into my heart came the message
The angels delivered that night.

I stepped from my saddle, whispering aloud
"Shepherds watching over their flocks"
My horse rubbed his head on my shoulder
As he shifted his feet on the rocks.

The horse held his breath as we listened
I could almost hear the heavenly choir
Then the spirit bore witness once again
And burned in my heart like fire.

Yes, the ranchers, herders and cowboys
Who work beneath the wide open sky
Can understand how the shepherds felt
When they heard the voice from on high.

Let the rich and the powerful pity me
Let the city folk think I am strange
My silent prayer shall continue to be
"Lord, thanks for my home on the range".

The Old Oak Tree

The
old Oak
tree was in
pretty bad shape. It
had been hit by lightning in 78.
Kids climbed on it and broke some
branches. About 50 feet away there was
a wild cherry, it's bark was very smooth and
it's leaves so green. Every year it made such pretty
white flowers. The wild cherry was just a twig when
the old Oak saw her. The old Oak had a kind heart and
welcomed her to the forest for he knew the wild cherry
needed his help in the growing game. Everyday he would
say good morning to the wild cherry and she would respond
in kind. They talked for hours about everything there was.
She wished she could move like the deer and the squirrels but
her roots aren't legs nor were the old Oaks. Sometimes it would
rain and sometimes it would snow, but through it all, he was
there to guide her and she to learn. He told her things that only
an old Oak knows and she told him of her dreams and fears
and hopes. Then one day the men came with their saws to cut
him down. She screamed but of course they couldn't hear
her, everyone knows trees can't make a sound, at least
not the kind you can hear. The old Oak tree was in
pretty bad shape. It had been hit by lightning in 78
It was time for it to go, and everyone knew it
Now the wild cherry is alone in the woods.
Her grief is boundless because she
lost her friend, her mentor,
her “Daddy". But
the most
important
lesson he
taught her
he taught
her from
the wood pile.
Old Oak trees don't last
forever, and sometimes you
get no second chance to tell him
thanks for everything he's done

Cafe Challenge/Who is she?

Who is the female movie star I'm most
attracted to. There's actually 'maybe' three
or four that are very close but the one that
drives me crazy you must guess. Do you
really know the kind of woman that can
pull my chain? Take a guess. She's a modern
actress. She portrays herself as pretty much
down to earth and a one man woman.
Ok madiens..who would I really be attracted
to? Do you know me. I've dated women
with her personality. But maybe you can
teach me the error of my ways. I'm all ears.
God bless the maiden detectives.
And knight's will win an engraved bronze
shield.
Good luck. cafe2

Unheard prayer

Good morning my darling
are you still there laying, waiting for me
heavens" but what am i thinking, where else would you be?
seems lastnight he was needed elsewhere
reasons for again, my unheard prayer.

as i open your curtains i wonder
do you even feel the rays of the sun
how must it feel to be you, my silent quiet one.
what if you were to wake suddenly
me with shaver in hand' would you recognise us both?
heavens heres me again" another day in wonderland.

i'll have to be going now my love
our son is calling tonight
and the beautiful girl he will have with him
is to be his soon to be bride.
the joy' you should be sharing in this
know that i miss you, as i leave you with a kiss.

know, your side of the bed is still empty
with still your pj's under your pillow
just incase a miracle happens
and your returned back to me
the man i love and used to know...

but if not' il pray instead
release him, let his soul be
bring him on home to heaven
unsuffer him... unsuffer me.

My New Year's wish for You..

My Wish for You..

I wish that this year will bring you only the very best..
That every single day is filled with joy and happiness..
That everyday you wake up next to someone who truly loves you..
And that you feel that exact same way about them too .

I wish that everyday finds you in good health and pain free,
I hope that you will strive to be. all that you can be..
And I wish that you won't let a single moment pass you by..
And that you never have any reason on God's green earth to cry..

I wish for you to see the beauty in each and every day,
I hope that you only see sunshine, and never have to see the grey..
And if you find someone to love then I hope that it comes true..
This is my New Year's wish.for all year...
This is my wish for you.

PEACE AND LOVE TO ALL

Lightning, thunder and dark storms
Crown this God forsaken land
Just as the meadows
Once a landscape of blooms
Of butterflies and dandelions
Became a haven of the doomed

We walk, caped with fear
Worn from the deepest of our souls
Ill fated on the very day of our birth
We live to die, every second
For hatred and ingratitude
We are eternally consumed

But there is a way
Turn around and change
Hardened hearts be softened
Replace insults and arrogance
Into humility and repentance
I know we can, we truly can.

Let go our human frailty
Let us thrive and aspire humility
Inspire and raise our hands
Let us all join our brother's hand
Peace and love, joy and compassion
A beautiful life to be reckoned.

For each and all, we're brothers and sisters
With love and unity, forever, we should be
And this doomed and God forsaken land
Will once again, be our refuge and heaven.
Can we all join each other then
So peace, love, happiness is ours again....

Shall we?

Mr. B.

It was a gorgeous sunny day ...

On the day you passed away.

Suddenly, the day didn’t seem so nice anymore ...

I was feeling so hurt, down to my very core.

Since then I’ve thought of you, day in and day out ...

I just miss you so deeply, without a doubt.

There was a certain song playing on the day you died ...

The last time I heard that song, I broke down and cried.

I put more pictures of you on my wall to view ...

Sometimes it helps just to be able to look at you.

Other times the pictures make me feel sad ...

But the one with us laughing makes me feel glad.

Sydney Sales Yard

A bonny mare if 'ere there was one
Stood tall in the Sydney Sales Yard.
The odds, the ring, the sales yard;-
And soon they beat her down.

The bid lot forty three, recall
(If memory serves me right)
Where stood there men as tough as nails
And bidding was a fight.

To and 'fro the bids were called
Until she was knocked down
to Eight Thousand -
For men in Blue Collars this was a lot of dough.

So Standardbred "miss milly molly"
Was walked out of the ring;-
"Not much to look at - a slender horse",-
One onlooker said;-
But he was not the man who bought her; -
Risking hard won bread.
