Your Love

You touch me with your love and care
Shower me with loving attention and affection
You tell me you don’t care
If you have me by your side
for one day, one week or a year
Anytime I’m free to walk away
But I refuse to give in to my loneliness and desires
And use you this way

You tell me you don’t want anyone else
But our interests are not aligned
Our heart waves are not tuned and signed
To each other and to our inner mind
We come from two different worlds
Like the sea and the desert folds
That only meet when it rains and cries
But You tell me you don’t care
If you have me for one day, one week or a year
Anytime I’m free to walk away
But I refuse to give in to my loneliness and desires
And use you this way

You would have made the perfect husband and father
Had my heart not been a maze
And the key lost without a trace
I’m not the simple girl you need
But You tell me you don’t care
If you have me for one day, one week or a year
Anytime I’m free to walk away
But I refuse to give in to my loneliness and desires
You have value and worth
The temptation to give in to what you say
Is beating at me from every doorway
But, you are precious in God’s eyes
And I refuse to use you this way

Invisible people

The people i may never know, have touched my life completely, so..
The connection's that are formed, radiate with so much warmth. It's a gift from above. Appreciated with sincere love. A kind and written word. Although our voices may never be heard. There's nothing like reading a poem, its just as beautiful, as the sweetest song!!
In the debts of every soul, theres a magical possession that unfolds, a message connecting us
Interpretations a constant must, of the things in life we all share!! Our dreams & hopes even when dispared. Our disappointment's & triump's wrapped inside a few paragraph's.
No matter what our social status, or where we are from, on this planet. A tranquil voice, unheard echo's in the myth's,
is worth more than a thousand words...

Sawubona..

“Sawubona”, I see you...
This ancient African greeting tells a lot about homo sapiens sapiens,
We have an insatiable need for acceptance by our kind,
‘Enlightened’ primitive peoples consider ‘invisibility/ridicule/exile’ the worst form of hell,
Ergo the opposite, acceptance, acknowledgement, respect, equals heaven,
The most serious punishment that could be inflicted by Pygmies was ‘invisibility’,
The Inuit, punished thieves with laughter whenever they encountered them,
Some of the ancient Greeks punished murder by exile, rather than reciprocal murder,
As a consequence, homo sapiens sapiens suffers all sorts of insufferable and barbaric initiation rites in order to ‘belong’...

I marvel, then, how ‘ignorant-Africans’ came up with this advanced psychology thousands of years ago,
To “see” their fellows,
No empty ‘hello’s’ here,
But a meaningful “I see you...”,
Implicitly implying acknowledgement, acceptance, worthiness...,
I guess the women folk among us know something about punishment when they employ their lethal ‘silent-treatment’ eh?

“Sawubona”, I see you...
“Ngikhona”, you would respond, meaning:- ‘I am here’...
Intrinsic in this Zulu salutation and in the appreciative response, is the sagacity that until you ‘saw’ me, I didn’t ‘exist’[funny, quantum physics has more or less come to the same conclusion...]. By acknowledging me, you ‘bring’ me into existence. A Zulu folk proverb clarifies this, “Umuntu ngumuntu nagabantu“, meaning “A person is a person because of other people...”
Thus, we are existentially mirrored by our connections to our community and when they really ‘see’ us, they offer a reflection to our inner selves that allows us to deeply connect, to belong...

Try it, look into someone’s eyes and meaningfully say “I see you”, that connection will bring another breadth into your commune with your fellows...

“Sawubona”, I see you...

The Language Of My Soul

The language of my soul
Unwritten, unspoken

It doesn't reverberate
In the halls of your fame

It wouldn't be displayed
In the walls with your name

Nor will it be heard
In your silence

It will lay dormant
Inside my heart

Content to be locked

My soul beyond your touch.

Silly Nana

Dim lights
gallon drums

knarled fingers
upon the strum

stuck
the flickering ghosts

Of swinging playtime
higher to swing

One happy face
Eyes
to
lace

the momentum
of stitch
as grabbing nana's dress

around the heels
safety feels

frowning flowers
yellow blue

I remember you

lifting sky
one blue moon

I shall keep you safe
always

carved into

the white cocoon

my first haiku

singing in the rain
sun shines brilliantly
and the flowers bloom...

my heart loved you
together forever
she appeared, and love died...

I was walking alone
a car pulled over
we landed in Paris with laughter

my gypsy soul

gathered one behind one
they came in a herd
throughout the village
wagon wheels heard
the clanging of pots
the clinging of tin
staring i was in bewilderment
when i noticed him.

they searched the fields
for borrowed land
they settled down
gathered in camp.
daily i watched
infactuated by them
no" i tell a lie
i was with him.

just like the others
he laughed and danced in the night
thoughts of him chased me
followed him i did, to keep him in sight.
unseen i watched
like a lurker in the bush
unable to control
my burning lust.

he bathed in the lake
my eyes bore into his skin
naked and bare
watched again,unseen by him.

with a blink from my eye
he was gone from the lake
my heart skipped a beat
when i heard the twig break.
there he stood naked
with eyes as black as coal
he see's and upon me
free's my gypsy soul.

wagon wheels tins and pots
you heard them come in daylight
but a silent breeze in the dark
they left on in the night.
regret? or feel shame
perhaps maybe i should
but never how could i ever
for i have felt love.

AWAKENING TO DREAM TIME

IN THE NIGHT TIME, OF MY DREAMS,
YOU FLOAT TO ME,
GENTLY IN THE NIGHT,
TO BE MY LOVER.

ENTWINED TILL DAWNS GREY LIGHT,
WHEN DREAMS AWAKEN TO REALITY,
BUT FOR THOSE DREAM HOURS,
YOU ARE MINE MY LOVE, AND I YOURS.

MY DREAMS ARE NOT CROWDED,
YOU ALONE HOLD THAT SPACE,
FOR YOU ALONE ENCHANT MY WORLD,
THROUGH THE DREAM HOURS, AND THE AWOKEN ONES.

AS I FALL FROM AWAKE, TO ASLEEP,
I SEE YOU FLOATING TOWARDS ME,
AND I WELCOME SLEEP, AS YOU APPROACH,
TO LOVE ME THROUGH THE DREAM HOURS.

FOR NO PRESENCE, IN SLEEP, OR WAKEFULNESS,
COULD COMFORT ME AS YOU DO,
ENTWINED IN GENTLE LOVE, AND PASSION,
UNTIL AT DAWN, YOU FLOAT AWAY, IN MY AWAKENING.

BUT I FEEL NO GREAT SORROW AT YOUR PARTING,
FOR TONIGHT AS I PREPARE FOR THE DREAM-TIME,
YOU WILL DRIFT TO ME AGAIN, TO BE MY LOVER,
IN THAT DREAMY WHISPERED GENTLENESS, THAT IS OUR LOVE.

AND SOON, SOON, SOON, WE WILL BE TOGETHER,
AND WE WILL LAUGH, AND PLAY, AND LOVE,
IN THE AWAKENED HOURS, AND IN THE DREAM-TIME,
FOR FANTASY ALONE, CANNOT RULE OUR LOVE, IT IS REAL.

Searching for Love

Where is love that’s washed ashore
The one I search... still looking for
On lonely walks past breakers waves
My heart awash with all it craves
Where is love that’s taken flight
Towards the sun and out of sight
Only a promise knows its name
A secret most guarded all the same
Where is love that lures me away
Searching to find out where it lay
Have I travelled too far and wide
Time will forever bury and hide
Where is love that’s washed ashore
The one I search... still looking for
