HOW I TRULY FELT

You made my soul a brighter place
in my heart you secured a space
The passion you've shown I treasure
reciprocation my immense pleasure

You truly are special that's for sure
joy you give has been a cure
You're a woman of the rarest kind
one just a few are lucky to find

Love for you I have never known
resplendence that makes my heart moan
Being without you I just can't see
I hope 'future' has plans for you and me

Today is deemed a more meaningful one
it is only another soon to be done
My desire is your happiness everyday
you're simply the best I must convey

The " I Love You " Rose is Red
in me chivalry lives til I'm dead
True love for you will never stray
"Happy Valentines Day"

In My Heart

In my heart, in my past lives
I must have been a female; -
(Not that I would be one now, -
And all that would entail).

It just feels right, when I see
A pretty pair of eyes;-
To drown in her deep ocean, -
Would come as no surprise.

BELLADONNA

soft and sweet
from your head to your feet
amongst all maidens
you are the most elite.

SELOTL

With your mercury mouth in the missionary times,
And your eyes like smoke and your prayers like rhymes,
And your silver cross, and your voice like chimes,
Oh, do they think could bury you?
With your pockets well protected at last,
And your streetcar visions which you place on the grass,
And your flesh like silk, and your face like glass,
Who could they get to carry you?

Sad-eyed lady of the lowlands,
Where the sad-eyed prophet says that no man comes,
My warehouse eyes, my Arabian drums,
Should I put them by your gate,
Or, sad-eyed lady, should I wait?

With your sheets like metal and your belt like lace,
And your deck of cards missing the jack and the ace,
And your basement clothes and your hollow face,
Who among them can think he could outguess you?
With your silhouette when the sunlight dims
Into your eyes where the moonlight swims,
And your match-book songs and your gypsy hymns,
Who among them would try to impress you?

Sad-eyed lady of the lowlands,
Where the sad-eyed prophet says that no man comes,
My warehouse eyes, my Arabian drums,
Should I put them by your gate,
Or, sad-eyed lady, should I wait?

The kings of Tyrus with their convict list
Are waiting in line for their geranium kiss,
And you wouldn't know it would happen like this,
But who among them really wants just to kiss you?
With your childhood flames on your midnight rug,
And your Spanish manners and your mother's drugs,
And your cowboy mouth and your curfew plugs,
Who among them do you think could resist you?

Sad-eyed lady of the lowlands,
Where the sad-eyed prophet says that no man comes,
My warehouse eyes, my Arabian drums,
Should I leave them by your gate,
Or, sad-eyed lady, should I wait?

Oh, the farmers and the businessmen, they all did decide
To show you the dead angels that they used to hide.
But why did they pick you to sympathize with their side?
Oh, how could they ever mistake you?
They wished you'd accepted the blame for the farm,
But with the sea at your feet and the phony false alarm,
And with the child of a hoodlum wrapped up in your arms,
How could they ever, ever persuade you?

Sad-eyed lady of the lowlands,
Where the sad-eyed prophet says that no man comes,
My warehouse eyes, my Arabian drums,
Should I leave them by your gate,
Or, sad-eyed lady, should I wait?

With your sheet-metal memory of Cannery Row,
And your magazine-husband who one day just had to go,
And your gentleness now, which you just can't help but show,
Who among them do you think would employ you?
Now you stand with your thief, you're on his parole
With your holy medallion which your fingertips fold,
And your saintlike face and your ghostlike soul,
Oh, who among them do you think could destroy you?

Sad-eyed lady of the lowlands,
Where the sad-eyed prophet says that no man comes,
My warehouse eyes, my Arabian drums,
Should I leave them by your gate,
Or, sad-eyed lady, should I wait?

Gimlets

Do you gaze through my soul
Searching inside a dark hole
Does my face frighten you, too
A reflection mirrored in my eyes
All you expect or all you despise
Can I drink from your cup of love
Taste on my lips blood from above
Past the sun and past the moon
Become alive we must meet soon
Or remain as ghosts on a foggy lake
Fading every night at day's break
Regrets mornings before new dawn
All that is right was all that was wrong
Without you I am lost and alone
Blind as the darkest night goes on
Safe only in my dreams so strong
What feels so right can't be wrong

A beautiful woman

A beautiful woman isn't what people think they are. We look at a beautiful woman as a model or movie star. But a beautiful woman is more than that by far. A beautiful woman has such a wonderful spirit, soul, and personality that she just makes your day no matter what storm comes your way. She has qualities that your soul longs and begs for each and every day. Qualities that are so rare these days that we as men forget to look for them. Instead we look at the outward beauty and our hearts grow sad and dim. But please know a God has created you beautiful woman who's souls and personality match you outwardly, but yall choose to be with the wrong man. When instead of looking for someone who will impress your friends try a new plan. Instead watch for that man who tries his best to make you smile every single day no matter how his went. Then you will realize that you found a man who looked past the outward you and saw the inward you and waited no matter how much time he spent. Waiting for u to see just what you are worth, deserve and need. So beautiful women are everywhere if we as men look deeper and take more time to notice her because she might slip right by you and you will lose a chance of a lifetime most indeed. BY MARQUIS

My Dog, The Cat

A white and tan Pomchi
I adopted from the pound
Some days my only buddy
With big gorgeous eyes of brown
His fur is soft and shiny
He stands one foot off the ground
A playful little joker
He just loves his Mama's lap
A whispered, "Come 'ere, boy"
And he jumps up just like a cat
He springs upon my king high bed
I must hop up to mount
Then licks his paws and rubs his head
And sleeps there in a round
I must admit he got it honest
From two cats that I once had
They taught him how to tip the garbage
And chew open the bag
I once was married, my husband envied
This mutt that paid no bills
He said, "That pup must go!"
I said, "You'll go before he will."
In a day my hubby packed his bags
Suitcases on the floor
I whispered, "Get him, boy"
Dude barked that bum right out the door
Never fickle or finicky like a feline
But just as agile and very lucky
Once he cocked his leg inside
And we played dodge and ducky
Of course he won - he hid for a time
Then resurfaced, tail between his legs
He licked my calf, sat and smiled
For forgiveness he doesn't beg
I pat my lap, he pounced right up
With kisses for my neck
My dog-cat, cat-dog.
A good ole boy, yes indeed
He keeps at bay the jerks and strays
And warms my ice cold feet
Good boy!

Charge to the Goddess

Listen to the Mistress of Magic the Mother of all for she is independent, powerful and wise. I am your child who has come forth from your sacred womb. For you have come to me in many names before Isis, Nut, Cerridwen, Diana, Artemis and by many others.

You, who are the lady sister moon, crone one, Goddess of desires, and clarification. May our voices be pure true to our heart for we seek to call you and seek only to be guided by your beauty as your aura has penetrated every star that reflects its beams of light fractals from the moon above in the sky.

We would be a fool to not be mesmerized for she is the goddess coming in all forms, look into her eyes see your true self for she is the life, and the love to always give creation starting out new being born into existence.

Her great divine shines with the suns flares of sparks to our imagination to be equal no darkness or evil in our world as we know it. Our passion is turned to the ages of souls, all spirits creatures and to the universe which is spinning in motion.

We sing in praise to the great Goddess what she stands for you always give us ascension, intuition and compassion.

As the great lady who stands beside the God who helps transform our bodies to walk forwards in our paths never always being the same but no matter these are our promises to you.

Keys, Hammers and Strings

seven years old
untapped talent
passion
even then
do you remember?

we met and
with every scale
i touched
88 generations of
my past
my future
they were all familiar
and loved me
as i loved them

with every chord
the whole world
became more faint
thundering applause
a whisper
never a desire
to return
my joy and comfort
with you
as you translate
to the world
the melodies of my heart
my soul

no dance
close and slow
fast and spaced
compares to
my dances with you
i reach for you
you receive me
welcome me
accept me
take whatever i give
and ask only
for a song
in return

you are not
forgotten
life's pain
despair
lonliness
bitterness
never held me

you never let me go
my old, dear friend
my piano

""PRETENDER"

"PRETENDER"
Although you and I are that of a different gender.
May neither of us live the life of a
"PRETENDER".
Pretending to be this or that, him or her, or perhaps your where it's all at.
I often wonder, if there was no such thing as a
"PRETENDER".
We could be that in whom we are.
Possibly living with no emotional scares.
Then wouldn't it be a more peaceful trip.
Knowing you nor I, was just another
"PRETENDER"
someone else had met.

About this poem:
While having a get together at my house in the year 2000. I was simply sitting on my couch. Just people watching as I often do. As I was listening to my friends talking to one another. It accrued to me that every person telling another person a story was lying and pretending they were someone they are not. I was baffled as to the fact that everybody who were talking was "PRETENDING" to be someone or something they arent. I picked up a pen and wrote this poem. It was the very first poem I had written. I hope that it makes since to you and you like it. Thanks!
