A PHONE CALL

On a snowy morning a phone bell rings
she took it and answered
a friend of her talked more and more
about their childhood days and
ever memorable schools days
she waited for an year for that phone call
that day was January first and her birthday.
her friend never forget to call that day
and to talk about their lost life and future.
she was so sad to reveal her to days life
it was rally unexpected as they wish in child hood days
but she forget every thing after her friends call
they shared all memories and hopes
no one can stop their thoughts and feelings
they are so free to talk and share life
bcuz they cannot live without good memories
and that memories gives more hope in their life
and she will be waiting for a phone call on next January first...
that never end as waves of good memories...

When I think of you

When the darkness turns to gray with the sun's first soft ray making all the world look new ,it is then I think of you.

When the dew kissed rose I see, birds singing from the trees to welcome day as they do ,it is then I think of you.

When soft winds arouse the trees with a gentle summer breeze drying off the morning dew, it is then I think of you.

When the sun glides across the sky settling into its mid day high with cotton clouds against the blue, it is then I think of you.

When there's afternoon thundershowers lasting for a few dark hours and then the raindrops cease to few, it is then I think of you.

When the rainbow then appears erasing all the storms dark fears, the sky again is baby blue, it is then I think of you.

When I see the orange sunset reminding me how we first met and then the sun sinks out of view, it is then I think of you.

When the evening shadows fall starts the crickets lonely call giving the fireflies their cue, it is then I think of you.

When twinkling stars adorn the night accompanied by the moon's pale light, beams dancing on the distant hue, it is then I think of you.

When in my dreams I often see fantasies of you and me and I know my love is true, it is then I think of you.

Friend

It's been some time since I've seen you smile, but then
I've hardly seen you at all
Are you still doing that same old dance
In that fatal new age ball?

If you could see out your window tonight, you could
See a billion stars
Tell me does anything shine for you
In that distant place you are

(chorus)
I never thought I would see you here
Of all of the places we've been
Oh, how I miss you
Friend

I remember our high school days, and that
Crazy way you laughed
Now you just stare off into space
Are you ever coming back?

(chorus)
All the girls were so crazy for you
And you were so crazy for them
Oh how I miss you
Friend

(bridge)
The road was hard, it was long sometimes
Nobody said it was easy
So you took a little something
To ease the pain
And now you've drifted so far away
Can you even hear me?
Oh, it felt so good not to hurt anymore
You took it again and again and again

I hear the wind on the window pane, and my
Voice is running low
I just don't know how to reach you
And I don't know what to say anymore

(chorus)
Visiting hours are over now
And I don't know if I'll see you again
Oh how I'll miss you
Friend

Oh how I'll miss you
Friend

About this poem:
This is a song lyric that I wrote about visiting my best friend in the hospital after he had taken a massive overdose of hallucinagenics and other drugs and regressed to a catatonic state. After years of hospitalization and therapy, he was finally released, where he commited suicide. The devastation wrought by drugs is so widespread and so deeply felt.

How The Light Reflects

Play it just that way son
Said the old man with a smile
'Cause when you play it sad and sweet
It feels alright for awhile

And the stained glass of his eyes
Was like a worn out movie screen
With screenplays of lost promises
False hearts, and broken dreams

(ch)
He said; I've searched the world for answers
But I haven't found them yet
It's never quite the way it seems
It's how the light reflects

In the angry city evenings
One can vaguely hear the cries
Of the children born in hunger
And the anger borne in lies

And the night holds desperate promise
But it wants to shred your soul
If you stare into those lights too long
You know you'll lose control

(ch)
You try to put the past behind you
But you never quite forget
It's not the game that draws the crowd
It's how the light reflects

So I sit here on the beach
An old guitar in weathered hands
And think about the days I used to
Wander through this land

And the ripples on the sea
Reflects the light of a billion stars
While the memories that I run from
Start to gather around my heart

(ch)
Oh, I thought I'd lost so much there
As I paid my last respects
But it's not the pain that wounds the heart
It's how the light reflects

La De Da

Well you can't take a dreamer
Away from the stars
Sometimes I think I'd fly
One way to Mars

If I just had a reason
As good as the view
In the world of my dreams
When I'm dreaming of you

La de da…

Oh, you know I give thanks
For each moment you gave
Not for whole worlds would I
One memory trade

So now carry on bright star
Remember me some way
Where the wild wolves run
I will sing for you someday

Lilac and Rain

On the the outside, you look peaceful
But I see the storms in your eyes
You've got memories of broken hearts
And the sadness of too many goodbyes

On the inside you've a strange world
Peopled by the children of dreams
You've got open arms and lullabies
But in the distance you can still hear the screams

(ch)
And when you put it all together now
The mixture seems quite strange
Hot summer nights, city lights
Lilac and rain

On the outskirts of your small town
You can listen to the stories of fall
They've got misty eyes and purple hearts
And rose colored glasses for all

(ch)
But it's lonely here in winter time
And nothing ever seems to change
Long winter nights, city lights
Lilac and rain

(bridge)
So you live with the hope
That you'll someday meet a stranger
Who will take you like you've never been before

Darling, don't you know
That you're never out of danger
No matter who comes knocking at your door

So if I add to your discomfort
You know I can always go
I'll just disappear back to somewhere else
Where I can walk in the soft autumn snow

(ch)
But if you should feel you need me
You know I'd feel the same
And I could get by, sharing your
Lilac and rain

About this poem:
Yet another stinkin' lost love song. This one about my troubled ex-fiance' in Georgia, who's 3-year old had been murdered by her previous husband, who also happened to be chief of police. Long story short, I held on the best I could, but she eventually took her own life in order to be with her daughter. I never wrote about that one, some things just don't lend themselves to words.

Forever Never Lasts

Told me that you loved me
You led me through your door
You give me your affections
I never asked for more

But now you're getting restless
I can see it in your eyes
You told me that you loved me
Now you tell me that you lied

Girl don't tell me you don't want me
You know I'm not that strong
I gave up my defenses
When you convinced me I belonged

You tell me that I'll love again
But I can't believe it's true
What have I to love with
I gave my heart to you

Goodbye is never easy, I know
Even the one who goes
Gets hurt too

And it drives me crazy, just wondering
If you're somewhere thinking of me
While I'm lying here thinking of you

Told her that I loved her
I led her through my door
I give her my affections
She doesn't ask for more

But I know she holds the question
As the fire fades so fast
If love always lasts forever
How come forever never lasts

If love always lasts forever
How come forever never lasts

How come it never lasts

If love always last forever
How come forever never lasts

About this poem:
Yet another love lost song, rather prosaic, but if you could only hear it, it really does make a gorgeous song, even if I do say so myself!!

These Dreams

Rainshine and sunfall
The night in the stars
A day of illusions
An hour too far

12 o'clock sun-dogs
Chasing the moon
Cast upon shadows
The walls of my room

And if it seems love
Is just frozen in steam
I'll be awaiting you
Drifting around through these dreams

Meadowdrift snowflowers
Cars in my ride
Hair all a-mess
It's so windy inside

Wild horse and tame flower
Isn't this real?
I'm having a moment
For just you to steal

And if it seems love
Is just frozen in steam
I'll be awaiting you
Drifting around through these dreams

Yes, I'll be awaiting you
Drifting around through these dreams

About this poem:
I was hiking in the Wasatch mountains and it started raining, so I tucked my guitar away in its water-proof case and was just sitting there when the sun broke through a spot in the clouds and made a brilliant rainbow in the falling rain. I thought, hmm, rainshine and sunfall! And there it was! A cute little song born in a moment of whimsy!

The Measure of a Man

Well I can tell you read some novel once, got caught up in some fantasy
And I can tell that somehow you think life should be that way
Where there's some valiant prince so handsome there to grace your every sunset
With his elegant bravado swaying maidens on the way

And I can tell you're disappointed
Guess I just don't understand
What it is that you believe
Marks the measure of a man

Once I loved a princess from an island south of nowhere
And we wrapped around each other like the stars around the sky
And you know once in every while now, I can still remember
How we loved as though we'd never lose, and sometimes I still cry

So then you say I'm just a baby
Guess I just don't understand
What it is that you believe
Marks the measure of a man

And once upon some younger time, you were enamored by ideals
But then you got so jaded when you lost your case upon appeals
And all those nights in shining armor, with that countenance of stone
There's never been enough to go around, and so you choose to live alone

I'll light a candle in the desert
And pray you someday understand
That it's the heart that really matters baby
And that's the measure of a man

Sad Guitar

Saturday night again
Oh, it seems to never end
They say there's love out there for everyone

They say every show has a star
And so I play my sad guitar
Sad guitar

There in the dark of night
With all the music and the lights
And all these faces that I've never seen before

Oh, I never know where to start
And so I play my sad guitar
Sad guitar

Looks like it might rain
Sky is cloudy and gray again
Oh, but that's OK, that's just the way I feel

But there's a fire inside my heart
And so I play this sad guitar
Sad guitar

Under the light of stars
God, I'm so tired of the bars
But I'll keep playing 'till our paths converge someday

Oh, I know she can't be far
So I will play this sad guitar
Sad guitar
Sad guitar

About this poem:
The third song I ever wrote, I think I was 17, playing the bars with a friend of mine, too shy to talk to the ladies.
