Journey of Love and Angels

On a cold sinful night while my heart slept
A beautiful lady into my life crept.
She talked of a journey she planned to take
Seemed a similar path I wanted to make.

She whispered to my soul, set my heart on fire,
Of this precious journey, I blazed with desire.
Take my hand I said let this journey begin
For I cannot live with sin after sin.

Then the world beckoned, drew her back
She slipped fell through the crack
With my last breath I turned to my goal
“Let’s start the journey lonesome old soul”

The journey is long, alone to the end
The path is narrow bend after bend
With gravel in my teeth and thorns at my feet
Not a fellow traveler to meet

Yet my eye is simple and my heart is still
Faith keeps me moving to paradiseville.
Reaching my goal and journey’s end
A bounty of pure peace and true friend

I know in my heart I’ve passed the test
Closed my eyes and started to rest.
Then a tap on my shoulder, when I turn to see
A beautiful child whispers to me

“You cannot rest yet” he said with regret
“You must journey back, you’re my best bet.
Burdened with fear and a heavy load
My mother is searching for the narrow road”

‘She is alone now and I fear she’ll slip
Back to the darkness that sinking ship.
Her heart cries out your name still
For she has loved you and always will”

About this poem:
A woman lost her young son; she and the man she loves take the journey from sin to the path of true Christians; she stumbles, turns back to the world; he continues alone; he ends up in heaven; meets her son; returns to help the mother (his Love) and helps her back to the narrow road so they could all be together again some day.

SHARDS OF SHAME

Yesterday is now my shadow cast~~
A darkened image for a darkened past~~
The things I’ve done out of desperation~~
I brave only now to reveal such information~~

For speak I not at this time and place~~
lest yesterday’s shadow will bare my face~~
The atrocities I’ve committed or played a part
The memories live on in that shadow’s heart

Shadows can shame one into submission
And thusly do I declare this adamant admission
I’ve held metal and steel well aimed to frighten
And my darkness is someplace nothing can brighten

No sun to stop the thought of a gun
Grab the old ladies pocket book and run
wait in the lobby of a fine hotel somewhere
Step into an elevator with a lady I’d dare

She presses fourteen and I pressed fifteen
And making a lady pee her pants is miles more than mean
I used to make excuses but now I’ve stopped at last
And each admittance resides in yesterday’s shadow cast

read it and see the title it doesn't fit

YOU KNOW WHEN A LAWYER IS FYING AND IT’S WHENEVER HIS HIPS ARE GROOVING

Did you slip and fall and it’s the merchant’s fault??
Well we’re going to get you enough money to fill a vault
Did you have a relative who slipped and fell
Fear not, they’ll be represented by men going to hell

He tries in every way to get you to believe but more importantly to stay
Because he sees his bank account in everything you say
While you’re describing to a man about an injury you sustained
He sees his safety deposit box and cares not if you’re pained

Okay, so let’s say you didn’t fall but you remember something fell
Don’t you recall it came right down from the sky says the man headed for hell
Surely you recall it was noontime on the seventeenth and you were injured
And I’ll get you a bankroll no matter who says there was no pain you endured

Have you or a loved one worked in the mines
Or in a school as old as the liberty bell
Then you may have been exposed to asbestos or at least read between the lines
So the fools say“Yeah, okay, I’ll be in on the deal and we’ll both go to hell”

An Immodest Proposal

Oh Swift he did, with satire bold,
Tell a famished Irish nation,
Serve the children up for supper and,
Put an end to their starvation.

Well what I propose is quite something else,
Although nowhere near as filling.
All you need is some time alone,
With a partner who is willing.

While you're there in bed, turn yourself around,
For a feast so fair and fine.
Just give in to the hunger of the loin,
And upon each other dine.

Though it doesn't nourish very much,
Still it doesn't cost a cent.
It really does quite satisfy,
When you've both your juices spent.

So don't give a thought to modesty,
Let your passions rule the day.
It'll do you good, with the give and take,
Sixty-nine your blues away.

looking into the sky

As i look up into the sky
BIG and white the moon shinning bright
into the darkness of space stars all around shining bright
further we travel in space into the darkneess of the deep black space

Lots of stars,Mybe a comet
Or spaceship traveling to mars
Passing all the space junk as we travel
comets here there space ships here there satalittes every where

oh the joys and freedom of space to be weightless in space
to move around with such ease motionless weightless one becomes floating around in outer space
viewing are kingdom from outer space looking down on the earth as we float in space

we travel in are spaceships where we go know one knows like catching the bus we travel in space to the moon we can travel
the next planet and the next in are space capsule we will travel
where will life begin again

if man destroys this earth will we have to begin again are mission to mars other earth planets to find
is this mans destination that he has to find

all TOO soon I'll forget YOUR NAME

ALL TOO SOON I’LL FORGET YOUR NAME

Has anyone heard from the woman of words and winsome ways?
I haven’t heard from or about her for days
She’s the one who made six in the morning not seem too rough
And climbing out of bed didn’t seem quite as tough

Has anyone spoken to the lady who made me smile although it hurt?
She’s the one that made my personality seem not so curt
When we conversed it was as if a bird was home resting in his nest
And each of us was each other’s guest

Has anyone laid eyes on a lady who glows in the dark like the moon?
And makes the end of every evening sadly come too soon
It’s strange but not hearing from her is like a cup without some tea
And the only thing I’m petrified of is she might not give a damn about me

Has anyone read the words this woman spouts out with delight
Making the darkest of subjects suddenly seem bright
I know she’s very far from me but her writing was enough for me
And now six a.m. is tougher than it ever seemed to be

CHARMING AND ALARMINGLY chARMing

a 17 year old white kid shouldn't be in such a place
and shouldn't be in such a lady's embrace
yet there strolled I in the darkness of desperation
and all too soon mine became a hazardous occupation

my eyes saw the midnight moon but it mattered not
i went there whether the weather was frigid or hot
walking amongst people so different from me
yet that lady would allow none of us to live free

my eyes widened when I saw what lay straight ahead
a lady that could leave me comatose or dead
yet a 17 year old white boy sat on the street
craving in the cold and searching in the scortching heat

a 17 year old white boy shouldn't be there
and back then that lady filled people with fear
but i needed immediate relief only she could provide
as I continued to let the lady become my only guide

all those years ago among friends I was the only one
and day by day heroin had me on the run
seeking on corners and looking in bars
while a white boy in Harlem may as well have been on Mars

I was a stranger meeting strangers by the score
and that's what I'd done a hundred times or more
because no matter what was happening the lady displayed her charm
and she grew more grievous with every shot in my arm

P.S. did you people know that the only adjective in the English language that cannot be modified by an adverb is the word "unique"....like she's either unique or she ain't unique, if one chooses to adhere to the rules my creative writing professor in my second and last year of college told me, "free, if you want to adhere to the rules you won't say VERY unique" So I don't. and I find that unique....as in a unique eunich

DOES YOUR GOD DO IT GREEK STYLE?

DOES YOUR GOD DO IT GREEK STYLE?

I don’t mind being labeled a fool
Why, because I’m that god-damned cool
And by the way, I am seriously dying as we speak
But until I’m dust I’ll do it just like the Greek

Zorba ain’t got a thing over me
I down ouzo people give me for free
How do I do that which you yearn to know?
Well, if it ain’t free I write a bad check and let the ouzo flow

That’s just the kind or unkind of fool I am
Foolish enough to fool all of them
All the fools and the common folk
And I may be a fool but I ain’t no joke

I hear with my heart your god’s admonition
But my foolishness will never be in remission
For the remainder of my days I’ll be this way
Disregarding that which society and your lord may say

So call me a fool if that be your will
Because I ain’t got nothing but time to kill
Until your god decides to kill this fool
But I don’t give a f*ck because I’m that god-damned cool

WITH DEFFERENCE TO JACK JOHNSON

I AM NOW AN OPTIMISTIC MYSTIC

I’m doing better than when we were together
The universe has granted me delicate weather
Today I can laugh at the mistake you made
For today a thousand tomorrows I wouldn’t trade

Life is easier without the doubt of loving you
And it’s like my soul is hovering above the blue
Just like an angel with wings that never molt
And my body is always a safe distance from a lightening bolt

In the morning I awake with a smile because you left
And to think others believed I’d be left bereft
But that’s because they didn’t know the you I knew
As my body is still hovering beyond the blue

So life for you can be rich but I don’t care
Because I no longer have to suffer you being unfair
You can be donning diamonds, mink and imported Italian leather
Because I’m doing better today then when we were together

NO MORE DADDY'S HANDS!

For Glory, who is more than I‘ll ever be, yet brings the best out in me….
NO MORE DADDY’S HANDS

Daddy has his demands
Especially at night
And oh the size of his great big hands
Yet Daddy was deemed delight

But it hurts me when the darkness rules
And onto my bed climbs pain and humiliation
It did no good to claim him king of fools
Because he had a need to fuel his fascination

"No daddy" I’d beg with blood in my voice
And a plea that would go unheard
As for a little girl i wasn’t offered a choice
And mommy wouldn’t have believed one solitary word

There were no words to ease my pain
While I imagined visiting foreign lands
I’d close my eyes as part of my soul was slain
“Oh no,” I’d silently plead, “no more daddy’s hands”
