I saw a NBC small group survey that was being done during the Biden/Palin debate. Want to know how they were judging if the
people were happy with an answer or reply?

Facial muscle movement. Yep. That is right. They were taking a video of thier faces....if some one smiled or frowned.....that was how they were judging if they like/dislikes the debate at that point.

Now the next part is little hard to grasp. They are not taking video
of all the 26 survey group at the same time.....they letting the cameraman pan to the one that is most obvious happy or angry ........so it like taking a single response video of a statement.....and saying in this survey group of 26......hey found
the answers to be ______(you fill in the blank).

The methodology and the technique of doing such a survey is
garbage.

But NBC had it on prime time morning.....

So Dude at this point....when you site polls and surveys.....this boy is not listening.

As force of good and prosperity.....seems that Obama is the number two in the money taking lists from the failed Fannie Mea...yep your boy ranked in money from them the last couple of years while they were going deep 6. We know he hired the CEO of the Fannie for a campaign manager. We know he was in play with Resyko. Only time, Dude...only time...till the house of cards falls on Senator Obama.

I think that he up to his keister in bad note making deals from the
failed firms. The FBI has most of the Fannie files sealed for the investigation. But they left some files open to the public......

The_Kansan: Weeeellll... I hate to make more work for you, but you might go back and take a look at the questions I asked of you earlier today.

Seems to me that so far - though you've made several responses to me - the only question you've actually answered is the one I asked about why you're always on the offensive.

Soooo, take your time and do it point by point - I seldom ask questions that I don't want straight, honest answers to - and I'll happily read your answers in the tomorrow a.m.. (In the mean time, my body is trying to tell me that I'm still recuperating from surgery and should probably rack out soon.)

ttom500: FreeHappy...all the polls are 'unofficial' until Nov 4th. And the methodology of the one that being takens now is question.

I could site more than just the survery group. The pollster are doing a lot of polling....not just for the Presidency...but also all the Senate/ House and State elections as well.

So what I have seen is they cut down the sample sizes....they are doing nationwide polls of 2500-3000 and giving a = or- of 3-4%.
The present voter pool in the US is about 175m.........you wish to
tell me that a sample of 3000 gives you a accurate picture of 175m?
of which over a 100m will vote?

That is why I am not placing much stock in them.

On Michigan...I think that is was also money and resources. Personally, I would not have made it public, if I was McCain. I would have just reduced the commercials and the time spent. Palin said the same even.

So I don't think that it was just bad polls there. They were a factor, yes. But not the only reason.

Sometimes, even when a ? or series of ?'s is asked and then answered by the person doing the talking (or typing, in this case), it is still hoped that the person being talked (or typed) to will go ahead and give his/her own answers to refute or confirm the other person's answers. Of course, this is not always the case, but it is in this particular case.

There are also things called rhetorical questions, i.,e., "What if there were no rhetorical questions? or, If your knees bent the other way, what would a chair look like?, etc..." which usually cannot be answered, but are instead designed simply to make someone think. But I don't ask many of those and simply mentioned them so that you would know that they do indeed exist.

But, to keep things simple for you, I'll only ask for answers to the sentences with the little ? thingy at the end. Okay?

Here's one now: Do you understand, now, what a question is? (That's not rhetorical - I really do want an honest, polite answer.)

And another one - this is a two parter: Exactly what box is it that you keep trying to think outside of - and has it ever occured to you that some of us might have made a habit of thinking so far "outside the box" that it never occured to us that there might actually be a box to think inside of? (I would also like an honest, polite and thoughtful answer to this - just trying to understand your mindset.)
