Why are men looking for women much younger than themselves? (97)
I would like to give you my take on this subject as a never married, 56 y/o male.
I want to start a family of my own, with adoption being my last option.
I have looked at probably well over 3000 ads and counting..
I have seen a few 50+ y/o women who look very nice and they had all the right answers to everything on my checklist of do's and don'ts... But there is one thing they don't have that I'm looking for.. The ability to make a first time family with me.
I was born disabled and got a really late start in life. My whole life has been watching others achieve things I could only wish for. And while on the subject, one of my neighbors had a child about 4 y/o, who had autism. If I had to adopt, I wish I could adopt him.
Like I said earlier. I really, really want to have a family of my own. I am not opposed to marrying a widow with kids, but there is nothing like starting new..
So, I really must say... Not all older guys are pervs, they just never had the breaks you guys had..
I hope someone out there could help me find the right person...

I had a mail from a lady last week. She was 48 and looking for a man from the age of 18 to 50. That's 30years younger and only 2years older !!! I've seen lots of ladies on here looking for guys younger than their kids. What are they looking for, only brings one thing to mind when I see that, and it's not long term.. It's no wonder they get lots of mail from young guys!!!
I would say for me it's 5/6 years both ways and that's it, if you're looking for a relationship

She's doing the same thing that the men are doing. I browse profiles and the ages go down to 30 years younger and max 2 years older (and I've only seen two of those).

Nidifugous: Same here. Thinking back to my 20s, a guy over 3 years older or younger was "yukk". I don't think that has changed in the last 20 or 30 years. Back in those days, the rule of thumb was to take a guy 6 years older and I told my mother that that was never going to happen... and it never did

we are all looking ...and trying best we can..younger or older....age is not everything..but like mention beforeage diffrens 5 to 6 years can be perfect..

In my time here I've noticed a certain type of lady will look for same age or younger. They are almost always the 40-50yr age... and most importantly... they get away with it because they're still in good nick.
Here in AR (Argentina) it is said, age knows no boundaries. The young women tend to be far more mature than those of the western world. But for me, there must also be an intellectual and life experience/knowledge for me to be enticed.
Turkishdelight4: Really enough already! I look at a profile of a man then find that in their mind I do not make the cut off age. When they are up to a decade older. What is it guys? Do we not age as well as you? Seen some pictures and I beg to differ.

Personally, I don't have a problem with a man looking for a younger woman....but geez, some more mature men need to take a long, hard look in the mirror. I have seen some men my own age look very tired. I think, just as an example, the women on this site, in their lates 40's to 50's look pretty damn good.
I, personally, don't seriously contemplate a guy any younger than myself and up to 5 years older.
That is my preference.
