Most people who wanted the vaccination are vaccinated now, the people who didn't took it should stay at home, don't go to a doctor or a hospital if you are ill, it was your own choice. Stay at home and die, goodbye.

I'm glad I don't have to take such decisions

But I'm leaning towards no more rules.
And my main reason is that Omicron may be mild enough for such an approach.

Use Ivermectin or Hydroxycholorine to stop covid, cures it in an instant once you detect it early.......Also eat lots of fruits, vegetables, provisions and white meats (Fish, chicken) to build your immune system.....Exercise goes a long way to in building your immune system....... If ppl want to use vaxx to stop the spread of covid, by all means use vaxx.... just be prepared for the harmful side effects of covid vaxx......Those side effects are not nice

It might sound drastic but in the long run the best thing is to infect all people with Omikron since it's a weeker version. No vaccines and absolutely no medicines because it's the medicines that creates mutations. It's a known fact that people often stop medicating when they feel better due to costs. Thus allowing mutations to happen. We have seen that with antibiotics. If Omikron mutates it will likely be even veaker, but it can also come a new mutation from Alfa that can be tough and then only natural immunity will work. Not vaccine against Alfa, Beta, Delta or Omikron that will have no effect. We have seen that with influenca for decades.

For the first time in this pandemic there may be too many people catching it at once. And this is risky because not enough caught it before. We shouldn't have been wearing masks before but I would wear one now. We should always be aiming for the maximum rate of infection within the limits of hospital capacity. Dodging covid when the hospitals were quiet means that we could easily overwhelm now. The dodging before was a folly but that folly has created a real reason to dodge covid now. We could have too many cases now because we didn't expose ourselves enough before. Deferring every previous battle has lead up to this big battle. The time has finally come to buy us some time.

We might get lucky and omicron might turn out to be very mild. Objectively very mild. But if South Africa copes solely because it faced up to previous waves then we could have a problem. Such a scenario proves the inferiority of vaccines, and that the real gamechanger is when everybody has caught covid at least once. Just don't let that happen all at once.

At least someone is thinking outside their rings, squares, triangles etc. My fellow islander, thank you for the different thought processes but please exercise caution when you give advice as this is not part of the script, as someone mentioned there is little to gain from these measures. As you know Bob Marley tells us "man to man is so unjust, children you don't know who to trust, your worse enemy could be your best friend and your best friend your worse enemy.....". How are things in Trinidad?

leave the children alone. the least threatened could be the most harmed by forced vaccination in the long run. no one knows the long term affects but we're finding out many of the short term negatives.

stop locking down in good seasons then crying wolf in the known bad seasons for illnesses. government is playing their games while the people continually suffer for it. restrictions should have stopped by the summer the virus started.

cautionary reminders of the vulnerable and to help take care for them was all the that was necessary.

government needs to be fully checked. they used the virus as a major political tool and have hindered the fight for health and life, not saved or helped it. right down to banning treatments that help and work to force the false vaccine. not sure what it does for certain because vaccinated don't seem to be tracked like they want to track unvaccinated. they are not being up front with all available information for any of it; vaccines, virus, side effects, survivability rates, etc.

not all vaccine negatives are reported. no idea on true numbers for break through infections and it's the same for people that have antibodies already from infections not consulted or confirmed with medical attention. that makes the vaccine unnecessary for an untold number of people of all age groups.

it should always be a choice for the individual to make. get if you want it, if not, don't.

I feel exactly the same.
Israel was the first country on Earth to fully vaccinate a majority of its citizens against COVID-19 but, by August 2021, it had one of the world's highest daily infection rates - an average of nearly 7,500 confirmed cases a day, double what it had been two weeks earlier.

If this flu was as serious as Fauci and the CDC made it out to be then, after nearly two years, all the unvaccinated people, including you and me, would be dead.

Never have so many vaccinated people been so insanely terrified of the unvaccinated few.

There is increasing evidence that a SARS virus was enhanced in a Chinese Communist Party lab in Wuhan as a bio-weapon and should have been called Wuhan flu. It is also reasonable to suppose, considering China's disregard of human rights, that the CCP deliberately released the virus as a field test in Wuhan City and that its spread across the world was also intentional. It should also be remembered in regard to human rights, that Communist China has an ongoing program of executing political prisoners, in addition to common criminals so that their organs can be harvested for sale.

Its quite plausible tho i have a funny feeling in my guts due to the orchestrated cooperation of all governments ,that China is the experimental template on which the rest of the world will be directed

There are many factors which may affect this kind of decision.

I have read much about Omicron being a mild variant, but that's from populations with a high vaccination uptake. In South Africa it has been reported as mild in a local population with a high vaccination rate, but deadly from a different locale where vaccines were scarce. (I can't find the source where I read that, but I think it may have been from The Guardian.)

I'm happy to accept that Omicron is a mild variant in the UK where the majority of people have had at least one vaccine dose, but that may not be appropriate for all populations.

I'm skeptical about the vaccine strategy where high income countries are offering third boosters, rather than the global population being offered at least one dose. The variants were all first detected in countries with a high number of infections and no, or low vaccination rate.

We're perhaps risking current vaccine efficacy when low income countries are left out of vaccine strategy. Given there are risks associated with the vaccines, additives and/or poor protocol administering them, it would be a slap in the face for those who have accepted the risks and especially suffered the consequences if we found ourselves back at square one. That's without acknowledging the basic ethical issue of leaving people across the globe even more vulnerable than they already are from poverty.

In the UK where we have a high vaccination rate and we've been bolluxed enough for many to have some level of natural immunty, maybe we should be having a discussion about an acceptable death rate for an endemic disease. Our daily deaths have been very low for months despite a high incidence of infection and I'd be interested to see how that compares with our history of seasonal 'flu. 'Flu is an endemic disease following pandemic status, after all.

Running the NHS at full capacity with covid patients, as Chesney suggested, fails to take other issues into account: there is a huge backlog of serious and life threatening illnesses that are going untreated due to covid being proritised; 10-30% of people infected with covid experience 'long covid', including permanent disability; & how much can we realistically expect from our NHS staff before they can no longer stand?

It also depends upon which restrictions we're talking about as there are so many. Wearing masks, social distancing in public, ventilation, hand washing and other hygiene protocols are fairly effortless, so I see no reason why lifting those restrictions should be a priority. Perhaps addressing comfort issues might be a more prudent way forward to maximise well-being.

Inconsistency tends to cause dissatisfaction. Here in the UK masks are mandatory in shops, on public transport, etc., but we can sit in a pub all night without one. I get that reducing the opportunity for the spread of infection is a strategy, one that is balanced against the economy and other aspects of well-being like social contact. The problem is that curfews and the like are seen as bonkers if they are not explained. Confusion and resentment do not foster trust in leaders, nor personal responsibility.

We have 'circuit breaker' restrictions pending in the UK for January 2022, but once again that seems like shutting the stable door after the horse has bolted. I get ruining another Christmas wouldn't have gone down well with voters, nor the state of the economy, but I can't help thinking that we've suffered the consequences of Boris's delays (perhaps in his own interests) enough already.

Certainly, I think we should continue to explore options such as working from home for those who can and want to. The advantages of that are multi-faceted.

I'd like to see an open and honest discussion reviewing all sorts of options in the interests of well-being and environmental impact. We have an opprtunity here to create change and it would be a crying shame if that were missed that.
