The investigation report came out on the SKorean Ship sinking. A multi national team of SK, US, AU, UK, and Sweden said 'overwhelming evidence' shows the sinking to be caused by a torpedo from NKorea that sank the frigate.

SKorea is calling for 'stern actions'. That the vessel was in international waters make this an act of war. NKorea is saying they did not do it and evidence is lacking.

NKorea dispute the border drawn on the water after the Korean war was ceasefired.

Time for some UN action folks. This one can get ugly in a hurry.
UN was there in 1950 whe it ended the first time. The P-6 colaition has not halted NKorean nuclear ambitions or international weapons sales. The US will not halt a NKorea vessel for a search.

And you got Iran and NKorea being buddies in the nuclear material processing programs.

So?

Adds up to a world response to a act of undeclared war to me. Which is one of the UN primary roles and chartered purposes.

The US has been there since 1947. We have made and kept a commitment to the SKorean people to their safety and security. During that time, the number of flagrant and deadly acts south of the DMZ grew. This is not the first, but one of the most deadly.

The UN was there during the war, but never resolved it to a solid peace. So time for the UN to come back, the way I see it.
IN theory....if Russia and China....wish to act in good faith to the UN Charter, here is an excellent opportunity for them to do so.
Both have common borders NKorea. Both allowing UN troops into their countries for some future military operation against the North, should be called for in the General Assembly and Security Council.

Hard to say at this point. The one AP article I read....said Washington is 'appraising its options' in light of the investigation report. But this was prior to the NKorean war comment.

SKoreans are a resilent people. But no one needs a war.

Looks like we are going to get a chance to test your theory that
Russia and the United States have a good working relationship.
Good enough to form military alliances and coalitions, Dude.
In fact we are even going to toss China and the UN into the mix.

Just not in Afghanistan. Rather on the Korea. Both China and Russia
border with NKorea. I sent a flash message to the White House for UN a Emergency Security Council meeting on the Chonan sinking and the
NKorean 'all out war' threat. Later for a General Assembly meeting to make for a UN military resolution on the NKorean issue.

The idea is to meet the NKorean threat with overwhelming UN Forces deployed in SKorea, China and Russia.

It is the primary mandate of the UN Charter. To resist a waring, aggressive and beligerant country with UN Forces. To make it the world against the NKorean, so to speak. Obviously NKorea was the aggressor in the Chonan sinking and now the are the beligerant country with the threat of war.

Because of our long relationship with SKorea and our partnership in SEATO, the United States is already a participant here. So we are going to test your theory Dudester.....and President Obama's.....
that international military coalition should be built (after talks have failed) to halt naked aggression by a foreign country.

Looks like President Obama now gets to wear the white hat and be a cowboy. It comes with the job.

Looks like the DEMs have been caught in their own bit of NO. On the SW border issue.

REP Senator picked up on President Obama request to bi partisan support on border control legislation......are.......requesting
him to send NG troops to the border.

When HHS Sec't Naplanito was in Senate hearing....McCain said she knows the SW border issue well and that back in 2006, she as AZ governor, requested NG troop to the border then. Which GWB did send.

So the REP Senator pushed the issue back into the White House. They also said that they would support a immigration reform bill. But that immediate action was needed.

It is so simple though....finish the friggin fence. Would you put up a fence around your property that was only 1/2 done? And leave it 1/2 done, so banditos can steal from you? Would you not do the entire property length? This is how illogical this issue is being handled.

But if you finish the friggin fence....Mexican President Calderon....has a problem. See he needs that 1b per year that illegal alien send back to Mexico to keep his country afloat. So he needs access for them to enter the US to work.

That access according most international laws is via a customs point were inspection can be made and document checks can be done. There is no reason why, they Mexican can not get both the documents and use the Custom entry points of the United States for
entry even as day labors or...visiting labors for longer periods of time.

If this DEMs NO this Congress, we will know that Calderon is more a President here in the US, than Obama that has asked for immigration reform.

ttom500: I don't think that you see the reality here, That is the Arab Leaguu is one of the biggest donator to the Palestine people.
They make a big public show of the $120m Iran gives them But arab League gives them more. Also Egypt is a position under pressure of the Arab League to end food and other needed supplies from coming into the Gaza strip.

The $120m of Iran is small potato to what they need to for a group of 3.5m. The majority comes from the Arab League. Mainly Saudi.

The game is up. The Arab League wants the two state solution. Sunni are the majority of the world Moslems....75% of Palestine are Sunni.

It took years to put this into place, Dudester. To get the Arab League after....the 6 Day war....were Nasser and Arab League made the three "no" about Israel. No Negotiations. No Peace. No Recognition of Israel. And the one that every one forgets.....to support the 'maintenance' of Palestine people as a nation.

The Arab League takes that maintenance away....and they are done.

Israel knows this. The US knows this. European Liberal should know this. Just be happy they are getting a state. Aid can pore into them then....from around the world.

None of us know when another chance at middle peace will come. Better take what we can, when we can.....43 years is alot of blood and sacrifice. 40 more is not needed.....

I am sure during presidnet Obama,s first turm a real serious peace treatment between Israel and palestinians will be reality and for democrats this matter is much serious.

Arab league some how is not the place to count on for acheiving this great dream but I hope they are going to support american preaident,s work toward this goal and not like disturbing the issue to weaken Obama and making their republican friends a favor... there is a lot contacts going on between republicans and major oil producents in arabic countries and most of those oil lobbyists are not too happy a bout success for the american administration and behind the sceans the state of things going on is much more differnet than what is public knowledge. Remeber how Hagee could result in a true imberesment for the american vice president even he is just a nutt head american pastor and another trouble maker excatly as Limbaugh?

I certaily hope that Obama,s serious and very complicated kind of work willlead to good results in that area and then wonderful results for the rest of the world... but of course no body knows what kind of dammages these right winged friends of yours will be able to cause for disturbing this peace... who knows? this current government in Israel... concidering their corrupted natur will not stay on power for ever you see?

Trying to give Obama the credit for middle east peace, Dudester? A little premature, but the way the Nobel was handled.....

He was against placing US troops into Iraq....the Iraq now sits on Iran border. A position that he is giving up as Iran get ready to build a nuclear bomb. Having troop near Iran to get them stop the bomb is critical.

Now he has NKorea ready for a fight. A real fight. Not some small disorganized Islamic radicals. NKorean army is one of the best in the world. Tough SOBs. They are choosing to do this now...why do you think......

his withdrawals. They know that he is overextended while deployed like this. But with withdrawals....that is not longer the case. So know is the time to do it. He might have withdrawn himself into a major nuclear war.

He has one hope now on North Korea and to stop a war there.. the UN. He needs UN forces and China and Russia to allow them to border regions near NKorea. That is going to come with a big price tag. He is going to be owing Politicians all over the world to get it.

By the time that they get finished with him....ain't going to much left. They will have him doing TV commerical in what ever language......LOL

Interesting that the week prior to the NKorea making the war threat...Kim had choo choo to Peking for his monthly meeting with the Chinese. So who do you think is really pulling the string here?
Chinese or NKorean?

If I remember right, the Chinese were really pissed about the Tiawan weapon sale and Dalai Lama.............he could have met the Dalai Lama in close door meeting and made the weapon sale to Tiawan under the covers.....the chinese would have never known what happened. ttom500: Obama started his intelligence teams. They work both in the US and outside of it. Not connected to the CIA or FBI.

Not sure I like this. He is using special law enforcement and intelligence teams to do interrogation of militant and radicals.
But if their reports get stove piped....mean classified..so that other don't have access. It is all hidden intell that has little merit to other in homeland security.

Law enforcement has made special teams in the US for a number of years. FBI's Ness team was special to Mobster operations in the 1930s. So the structure and concept is not new.

Combine with the idea of no Miranda rights needed....mean suspects could be held for indefinite periods prior to seeing a attroney. Very RED China like there.

Then he still has the GITMO going. We get a influx of new AlQeada types from Afghanistan....were do they go? That is right, there is only several 100 alQeada left in Afghan and we are not going into the mountains to find them any more. We are doing nation building in the cities. The dots are connecting.

He does not want alQeada prisoners. They would keep GITMO open.
So he changes the military operations in Afghanistan to limit the number caught. And has small estimate of their number made public.
They had a estimate of several 100 alQeada at Marjah...took the city...were are the prisoners? GITMO did not increase in size. Either they did not take prisoners...meaning summary execution or they let slip out of the circled city on purpose. Maybe under Presidential orders........micro management from the White House remember?

The word I got...Taliban and alqeada were slipping out of the city at night. So not summary executions. But with out night vision and out air control...they should have been easy to find in that open terrian around MarjahA military commander has to live with the reality he faces in the field. He cannot dictate the field or the opponents strength. Obama just has a threat estimate report written that say....I don't have alQeada to contend with. "Mission Accomplish, Country Defended."

He is just passing the buck off to the next President that is going to come into the office....thinking....'this alQeada affair is over and done with'.....opps......BANG

I am not sure i know much regarding what you write in this post *TT but still I am sure one of the most dangerous emnemies of american secutiry and american people are also inner enemies of americans and by that I mean radicals and militants who are not happy a bout democracy, hate the gots of the country,s elected power holders, hate coulred, muslims, jewish and who ever and what ever not looking exactly as them selves and not as stupid as them selves... so if you are right then HIGH5 from me to Obama administration for this fabulous kind of important work and you must not forget the inner enemey and these guys are on the same side of Taliban and other Bushney,s EVEr best firends and will stay that way... right a bout time before these evil minds causing more trouble in America for sure.

Have you heard a bout NK claiming they have succeded to make Fusion reality by the way?... doh laugh

Dennis Blair, Director of National Intelligence....

Just got the White House axe. Blair was a direct and straight talker. Blair was fustrated by the White House 'micro management' of Intelligence gathering services. White House say Blair failed on the x-mas bomber attack and the Time Square attack.

Plus...a GAO report the human factoring Obama administration wants to use by TSA. Says that 16 known terrorist passed thru US Airports
were the human factoring was being tested by TSA earlier. Guess they did not smile wrong went thru baggage checks.

Taliban are stepping up attacks in Afghanistan. Ahead of the well known US/NATO/Afghan Khandahar attack. They launched some attacks into Kabul.

One little thing picked up on the NKorea torpedo attack. They were able to a recover a serial number from the device. It is in sequence with a NKorean torpedo serial number that was abroad the NKorean sub taken a while back on a covert mission to the south. Pretty solid evidence to the NKorean involvement here.

That 'micro management' takes the intiative away from intelligence gathering. Agent are scared to take risks to gather intelligence when they know it can get them into trouble with the WH...and cause them to lose thier career and retirement benefits. So they stay behind the desk....and out of harms way.

ttom500: Kim does not sneeze without a OK from China Dudester. NKorea was and has been the Chinese proxie even in the Korean war. I don't see this happening without at least Chinese knowledge and likely with Chinese approval.

Obama could be walking into a trap here. That is why I want to bring the UN into this ASAP. If he puts it to the Security Council....were China sits...and they block his resolution. Then he knows about the trap. Get the idea? ))

Well in proxie conflict. The proxie takes the heat and the master stays low profile. So? China staying quiet about this only tells me that they are trying to stay low profile. Which exactly what master/proxie relationship does.

I was wondering what kind of torpedo it was. Had it been a Sykval....I would tell you ...China definetly played a role. China is the only country that Russia had sold them to. Iran got the Shkval Technology but builds a different model. But a old piston torpedo?.....it still went bang in a big way to cut the Chonan in half.

They must have tracked the Chonan patrol area pretty closely to get a loud piston torpedo strike on them. Piston torpedo make alot of noise in the water that sonar picks up.

They have been planning this for a time. They placed the sub on the coastal patrol path of the Chonan and laid it on the bottom. Then blew its ballist tanks to bring it to a firing depth quiet;y. And then launched a old piston torpedo that could not miss, the shot was that close. The Chonan could almost out run a slow speed piston torpedo....so it had to be close shot.

I am sure Obama will figure this all out.....he is so knowledgeable in such a wide range of topics......

Unless you got a wiretap on their phones or have a little fly inside the meeting room with Kim and Deng, how can you say "I am definite they were not involved'? Gesh Dude, RED China and RED Korea nothing in common there? Only that they both fly nearly identical flags. China has more in common in NKorea than it does with the USA.

So some wishful thinking? Just hoping that it ain't true?

That is what is going on in Washington right now. Obama had taken Biden's view of the world....from time he spent on the Foriegn Service Committee.... and now it ain't what good old Joe said it was. Good old Joe gave him the 'happy face' view of the world.

So Obama get hits with some terrorist attacks...Hasan, X-Mas Day Bomber, and Time Square.....and it the National Intelligence Director Blair fault?

Well Hasan was Army....the DoD's back ground checks and the DoD's investigation of his radical Islamic practices and failure to cashier him from the service was the fault there. Not Blairs.

Then you have the al-Awali cooridanting them from Yemen. Yet his DoJ (e.g. Holder) cannot send Yemen any intell that al-Awali is connected to Hasan and X-Mas Day bomber. Again not Blairs fault.

Now you got the Time Sguare bomber....that makes 13 trips to Pakistan...and does not get placed on the flight watch list of Homeland Security. He builds a terrorist funding group inside the country and FBI fails to pick it up. Then nearly slips out the country on a international flight. That is Naplanito and FBIs fault, not Blares.

Preliminary reports are saying that they had a sestemic failure like prior to 9/11. That is Blair's fault. But also Obama's.
National Intelligence Director is very high level position.

Maybe like you they are working with wishful thinking?

So Blair is getting the axe. None of the other are.
If Blair is the one 'straight talker' in Obama intelligence group ....what does that make the ones that are failing?

Take it the other way. Assume they are involved. What can be gained by the Chinese with Korean conflict? China knows the UN would come back into the conflict. Also needs its Security Council vote to do so.

China has a weakening economy at present. The UN does not want China taking the side of NKorea. So the UN is going to give China anything it wants.....like the next trip to the moon....like global exploration right for oil.....like Chinese presence in Africa.....like carbon credits $ for China's energy production
.....like trade agreements favorable to China.....like Tiawan.

No China has no motives for a Korean conflict....laugh
