One last thing, Dudester....we have oil and tar balls coming ashore here in Florida. Florida.....one of the largest states in country...went big for Obama in 2008. Often considered the critical
swing state.

Charlie Crist, our want to be Senator, and now Governor....IND...has not got a State wide beach protection plan for oil slicks. And I do. And soon he will have it on his desk.

Then he is going to turn to Obama and BP....and ask for money for
it. Likely then, both Obama and BP are going to struggle with the dime. Maybe not give the dime. Because it ain't cheap.

When they do...IND....Charlie Crist....wanting those Tea Party votes, FL votes and IND....is going to fry them both in oil. Well in maybe oil slicks crude.

OR

BP and Obama are going to sign the contracts.....and make me a very happy financially sound camper.

That is how politics and business is played in the US of A.

ttom500: The nuc idea came from Obama's friendly Russians. Maybe Obama was listening to them. Sure go ahead nuc a oil well to stop the flow....in the mean time radiate your prime fishing area for 40 years. Create a bigger ecological disaster than the one you have going.

That how low Medvedev and Putin opinion of Obama after the START signing is. They honestly think that he is nutty enough to nuc oil well. They would not offer such a nutty advise to McCain. He would have called them on it, point blank.

Obama took it and never said a word about it. Like it was a real option....just to keep international detente with them.

The cap slowed about 1/3 of the oil. some 2/3 is not coming out. Some now are saying end of summer before a fix..others....not till December.

No, as it reacts with the water....a acetylene gas is made. It simply dissolves into a gas. A little coke is left, after all the reaction is done. That falls to the seabed and become another little
rock for marine life to swim around.

CaC2 dealers sell three things. CaC2, acetylene gas and coke.

What is worse? Gallons of crude washing a ashore or small bits of coke on the seabed? The CaC2 particle size is about a 1/4 inch.
Once the reaction occurs, is even less than that.

Nearly 100% of the Acetylene gas will surface thru the crude for the burn off.

Beats a nuclear explosion and we don't have many other options.

Two homegrown terrorist were arrested as they departed the US to join a terrorist's group in Somalia. What is interesting about this....one has a Spanish surname.

Yep.

One, Carlos Eduardo Almonte was arrested.

They were not joining the Somalian boy scouts either....but the
Al-Shabaab group that is connected to alQeada

So?

We have known for a time now that N. African groups connected to alQeada were destination groups for latin American drug runners and weapons dealers that transited the Atlantic in aircraft from Venesula.

Now we got home grown latins that are traveling out of the country for training and then likely missioning against American soldiers in the middle east. how soon before they were missioned for attacks back on mainland US? Hasan, Time Square bomber and the X-Day bomber
all were.

We also know that alQeada for a time used the tri point region of Chile, Brazil and Argentina for some cells development.

Connecting the dots here....I say finishing the friggin fence is a pretty good idea.

You caused me to look and research alittle deeper, Dude. Which is good.

I found one online "Cautionary Response Information" sheet. It says this: Calcium Carbide Harmful to aquadic life in very low concentrations.

But then the reports say this
6.0 Water Pollution Section
6.1 Aquadic toxicity...Not pertinent
6.2 Water toxicity...Not pertinent
6.3 Biologic Oxygen Demand (BOD)...Not Pertinent
6.4 Food Chain Concentration.....None
6.5 GESAMP Hazardous Potential....Not listed

CaC2 is a natural element. It already is leaching into the water bodies.

Here is what has happened in the past for CaC2 to get a bad rep on killing fish.

They would have a vessel sinking....the vessel would have a CaC2 marine signal buoy onboard. The signal buoy would begin to leak into the waters.....and they get fish kills from it. Those signal bouy carried a 100 pound or more of CaC2. So was a pretty high concentration in a small area.

The burn off bouy in design only carries 2 pounds of CaC2. And when I say salt the surface of the surface of the slick....you can salt heavily or lightly. There is no reason to salt heavily, if lightly will gives the burn off effect desired.

The plan is to do it mostly 100 miles offshore to only the slicks that have been plotted for coastal contact. The rest we leave to boom and skim vessels. So we are not operating in the major coastal wildlife areas.

There is no long term environmental effect to CaC2 that I have been able to find. To the food chain, water or aquadic life. Just a possible immediate fish kill that we can control by location and amount used. From the air if we see large schools of fish, we can hold simply off the drop. Slicks move current slow, we will get it the next day.

We should make a 100-150 mile clear water slick buffer area on the State west coast for hurricanes. And keep floating crude from the coastline and out our high density wildlife habitats if it goes well and we can get started in timely manner.

So it looks like a trade off...small and limited fish kills with no long term effect for a hurricane buffer area and protection of our major coastal environment areas.

We are talking 1000+ miles of coastline and dozen or more wild life habitats protected areas including the Everglades and Key West National Marine Sanctionary.

No one in the country or world is going to be happy with us if we just let these slicks drift in. I still got a couple of weeks to put it together and research it more. Right now am still for it.

Thank you for the information TT. As I am concernede usage of the material you refer to is not toaly safe for teh arin life but still if the dammages of the leak can be controlled this way then I am sure american autorities will use it for sure.

BP says they got more than half of the leak under control now and beleive they can stop the damn thing earlier than announced. Let us hope they are honest... BP complaines a bout american government is pressuring them major time now on days and that sounds like sweet music to me.

Obama's 'we can build international coalitions to fight terrorism' is about to come a major cliff. It has been bouncing
to it, but now it stands on the edge of cliff.

Yemen..one of the poorest Islamic countries in the world....so could badly use some major foreign aid from the US and others..just announced that when they gets the radical cleric al-Alawki..they will not extradite him to the US.

Seems al-Alwaki is a citizen of also Yemen..by birth to two Yemeni here in the US. So he has dual citizenship. US and Yemen. Yemen has a constitutional restriction on extradiction of its citizens.

Can we call Yemen a terrorist supporting country? If they have written a Constitution that harbors Yemen citizens that are conducting terrorism. Seems to me,that is a pretty good definition of a terrorist supporting country.

But Obama's approval rating in the Islamic world has been falling almost as fast as in US. What Obama thinks is that if they like me, they will not harm the US. Why would any man commit harm to a country I govern? I am so liked. So he will never call, Yemen a terrorist supporting country.

Need I mention Ft. Hood, Jahdid Jane, X-Day Bomber, Times Squares bomber, 5 in Paksitan and now 12 in Yemen. 2 arrested
in NJ...one a hispanic. And their connection to al-Alawki? If that thinking has not been evaporated by now, Obama so believes in his political rhetoric of 2008, he is a lost cause.

He has placed our national security on the line with his ability to be liked in the world. Like Obama, like US of A. Sorry it never worked that way with religious nutcases like bin Laden and al-Awaki. Their screwed up religious ideology drives them to making the decisions they do, not their personal likes and dislikes.

So what I see happening here is this. Obama going to do a yawn.
Big deal, so Yemen will not exdratite al-Awakli. Iran will not exdradite the bin Laden family. The bin Laden family is not even Iranian. I can live with that. They like me if I don't press such issue.

Meaning that in the Islamic world, I am the American President, you can like..am not that nasty old GWB that you were throwing shoes at..and my approval ratings gets a bump. They like me, and the US is safer. Job done for the national security.

The bigger problem across all of Islam these kind of legal protections have been made for terrorist and terrorist supporter to hide behind. Unless Obama can knock down these legal barriers of protection, his coalition building on fighting terrorism, is a doomed failure. They know that. It why bin Laden fled from Sudan to Afghanistan. Why al-Alawki takes residence in Yemen after leaving the US.

Stopping alot of terrorism is as simple as a easy and fast extradiction. To GITMO. Or to what ever Federal prison that has a open cell. Stopping illegal drug trafficking is the same. Stopping de vander Sloot from murdering a Peruvian woman was easy if the Dutch authorities had the hair to arrest and try him on the Holloway case. International crime plays the international borders like they were strings on a guitar.

And Obama's 'like me national security plan' for the US, cannot coalition build when the very governments he need to build with take the positions of Yemen, the Taliban, Iran, and Aruba.

At least GWB was honest..when he said these are terrorist supporting countries..the world did not want to hear that.
And then it gagged and then it did a splew job on GWB. GWB knew
the legal barriers that the Islamic world had placed on extradiction. But he was honest about countries like Iran, Yemen, and the Taliban Afghanistan.

Obama's 'like me national security plan' here is what is not honest. For it says you can negotiate with terrorist, terrorist supporters and terrorist supporting countries..for your approval rating. You can have dialogs with them, just to find out how the wind is blowing. And they will like you. Big deal Mr. President you are liked..13 at Fort Hood were not so fortunate.

Dudester, you are about to see some of the fanciest geo political dancing done in modern time. This is going to make the amazing Chinese Olympic female gymanists and divers seem like the three Stooges.

30 days ago....a North Korean border guard killed 4 Chinese and wounded another along the China/NKorean border. China has been holding off going public with the info....that is how a closed
media society works. But realizing the families of the slain and injured were only a twitter away from making it public. China went public.

Place it into timing of events some. 30 days was about 1-2 weeks after the Chonean sinking. China did not want NKorea with two hot potatoes issues that had turned deadly. So buried going public along with the bodies.

Put it together a little bit more. Remember when China did its crack down on the Twitters and Googlers? Just about 30 days ago. China asked to get what? Access to the accounts of Chinese Googlers and Twitters. Yes? Let Twitter and Google be the net spies for the Chinese gov't. But also be in a position to block any local Chinese going public on the NKorean incident. Some shrewd characters there....

LOL....this stuff does not happen without some hidden reason, when it comes to a Communist and Socialist gov't. But if one has memory bigger the a peach pit...that is for you, K...))). You can see it.

Now that it has gone public and China has seen the evidence on the Chonean...you would think that the Chinese are ready to end the rope dope tactics on the NKoreans. Do a little tap dancing of their own on Kim. But they made the position statements on the Choenan, well after this border incident. They have no desire to be heavy handed or even light handed with the NKoreans.

They are buddies thru and thru, Dudester....

Hillary C. talking to them (on the Chonean) is a waste of time. They have no intent of letting NKorean get taken to the UN carpet cleaners. Unless the Security Council resolution is so weak and tipid on NKorea, China will not approve it.

Looks like the NKoreans got away with murder..not once but twice.

I think that we should send Bill C back over clear this mess up.
He can tell the NKoreas, that if they support Obama....they can get a quid pro quo deal for whom ever is next in line after Kim.
Speaking of which...Kim just appointed a relative to act as intrimin governor of the country, till the succession is done.

So as long Bill C has his Kim straight he can make the offer to the right one. So much for the 130,000 political prisoners, that kept Obama from making peace with Kim. Now we get to wait 2-4 decades till this Kim is aged and ailing to get another chance to have a united and free Korea.

Nice geo politcal strategy there....worked well for the NKoreans and the Kims ....and might I say....China as well.

I beleive it is rahter difficult to try for a regim change in North Korea or in another very hard place like Myanmar as well... these regims are way deep in to peoples minds in those countries and the ammount of control is unbeleivably high and then not easy to get in and do some thing which works and then expecting a regim change or some thing. So we just let them sit there and rot away? The 'old dust bins of history' theory?? Dudester, Pres. Obama had a perfect chance to get rid of the Kim regime and sign a peace treaty into effect that ended the Korean war. A real geo political achievement that no President has had a chance to do since, first shots of the Korean war were fired.

NKorea just gave that UN a near ultimatium....saying don't bring the Chonean sinking into any UN debate or Security council resolution. If the UN does, what then? With Nkorea being one of the biggest rogue nation states in illegal weapon trafficking.....my guess is those 13 NKoreans Nuc go on the international black arms market to the highest bidder. Having done the Chonean attack, means NKorea is willing to pull the trigger and kill people. So it is a real threat, not a talk about.

In other words, NKorea is holding all of the world hostage with its nucs.

See how this game is being played?

NKorean is no dummy, they know that the present UN Sectretary General is from SKorea...he would love to hammer a UN resolution on them so tight that Kim's cannot breath.

That is why the Chinese sitting quiet on the border incident is
so so critical to correctly understand. China does not want a hard UN resolution on NKorea either. If they did, that border incident would have been public knowledge in 24 hours.

Pres. Obana and Hillary C think that China is all hunky dory with UN Resolutions on the Chonean. Or coming that to that position. But the Chinese will flip away when it gets to the Security Council is my guess. Showing Obama and Hillary as being inept on the international political stage. The Chinese will let Obama expend a lot of international good will and capitol for a resolution....then thumbs down it. Showing they have as much clout in the world as he does.

The game of three card monty gets played all sides in geo politics... Right now the Chinese are holding their Chonean decision under one of the cards. The more Obama wants or needs them to flip a Ace for him, the more valuable it becomes.

That is why major world countries have to stand on their own at times......

Please if you are a woman, read this post with a grain of humor. It is for Dudes sake. Is not a cut on or at women. I would never do that. ))

After the Tues primaries, Dude....looks like Sarah Palin...morphed.
Instead of one....you have 3 REP women running and winning primaries in CA Governor (Whitman), CA Senate(Fiorna), SC Governor (Haley). Nice going ladies!! Congrats!!

Palin endorsed two of the three(Fiorna and Haley). Obama endorsed Lincoln but she would only let B. Clinton on the podium with her. Being AR, Bill C. is still a name here.

So we are looking at the year of Sarah Palin ...actually.....Sarah
PalinS<----big S. The morphing of Sarah Plain. Any of these ladies can win a general. They are seen as being more mid road than REP man. Add AZ Governor Brewer to the list of Sarah Plain morphings.

Dude! You got 5 of them running around.......LOL..........

CA has never had a REP woman run for either Governor or Senate.

So?

Consider 2012....with REP women having control of CA. Arnie out, Shriver out. Fiscal reality returning to CA and Sacramento. My gosh add some curtains to the closed Governor mansion and you got a near normal State. That can devlier big number of electrolal for the REP canidate.

Also consider Florida and Texas, still cleaning off Obama oil from their beaches. That is the biggest state (CA) in the country being REP. The number 3 and 5 state having Obama oil cleaning for the previous three years of time. That leaves NY and IL in the DEM column.

OK give OBama, IL...it is his home state. New York though....has been mismanaged by the DEM that have been in power there. Let us call it a draw. That is 3 of the countries biggest 5 states looking good...to resurrected REP win in 2012. A DEM and draw.

With tea party owning the mid west state, because they also did well on Tues.

There is the makings for a one term Presidency. He could bounce back in 4.....assuming he can keep control of the party. That is why he is working the quid pro quo so hard. He is a building political machine that will keep him in power, even if it goes bad in 2012.

Well fits with a liberals and socialist view, yes? It is not the people gov't, but a small group of people government.

ttom500: So we just let them sit there and rot away?

We just let them sit there and rot... not Exactly TT... make sure that sanctions are working and beside make sure that those regim,s state of human rights is well known and then regims totaly isolated and out hungered will fall a part Exactly as it happened because of very capable president Clinton and the way he took care of Apartheid behind the sceans. I know this method is too complicated for a republican to figur out or understand but still... it works and much less blood and beside the result will stay for a longer time at least.

ttom500: Congress is talking a 5 time increase in the Offshore Containment Fund that the drilled have to pay. Combine that with the tax increase this administration will put on fuel product soon...I figure $1 jump per gallon is coming soon.

Congress will likely do to the Offhsore Containment fund what they did to the new Airport constuction funf...that they passed on the GA in the 80s. Raid it for earmarks and pork barrelled projects.

The funds builds up in amount....suddenly all those legal loop hole written into the bill ....with a greedy Congress.....get exerecised. You will not see the money go to green energy, Dude. Unless you call Nancy Pelosi CA Marsh mouse green energy.

Oh my Oh my! a Doller jump per Gallon! Be Ware Be Ware!!!!!!! a whole doller more for a Gallon Such a Disaster uh oh wow moping or better emotion doh

So freaking what TT? so buy a better and more fuel efficient car and stop drving car all time even for going to bathroom or some thing rolling on the floor laughing

Still much cheaper than it ever will be around here and we even have oil for our self at least and exporting as well and not like US with a 3 procent of the oil reserves using a 25 procent plus ... time to stop burning oil as if it was a commitment or some thing mister TT tongue

ttom500: Please if you are a woman, read this post with a grain of humor.

Just imagine Endorsed by Palin... Gosh!!!!!!!!!!! poor person better jumps down of Niagra to end the misory for gud Sake doh

Regime? What regime? This is not NKorea. In the US we have 4 year administration. In 2012, we get to say adiodos amigo to this one.
Shucks, John...now he is even putting kids to sleep now in his addresses. The rest of us fell asleep during the Obamacare debates.

We will roll over and vote in a new administration in 2012. Realizing that we made a major mistake then....but not a terminal one....in 2008....one that can be corrected in 2012.

You mean all that crude that is drifting ashore in the Gulf? Listening to Tony Hayward right now on TV....he doesnot blame GWB
for the BP oil spill. He is taking full responsibility for it.

Yet, Obama wants to to kick his butt and axe him, maybe even press criminal charge on BP staff.....one of those ego political thingees....I guess.

But in 51 days since the accident,Obama has not called Hayward once. Kind of reminds one of Gen. McCrystal that was stranded in Afhganistan by Obama for 41 days with out a call and 18 months on the surge decision.

Any man that gets into trouble, Obama is a distant blip on the radar screen. "Trouble" is not Obama's middle name. He neither looks for it or solves it.

I guess this is the 'new generation way' to build coalitions and team building. You just assume that they know what you want them to do. Never talk to them to get a understanding. And simply ignore them when they have problems.

Anaylists are speaking about the UN Sanctions on Iran.

Hard but not crippling. Hillary C was pushing for 'crippling sanctions'.

Iran is already saying that they are a waste of UN paper. That they will ignore them.

The sanctions did not touch Iran oil sales. That is why the anaylist are saying that they nor crippling. They said that had it, then China would have not supported them. Iran sells China oil.

Russia is refusing the sell the S-300 to Iran. Which leaves a military air operation over the country in a better position.

But taking away Iran purchase of a ICBM. Iran like Nkorea has been making its own nuc missile....so is only a question of time before they extend the range to find all of Europe and the US with them.

The real threat is the Iran and alQeada link. Iran knows that the missile defense shield of Europe or Israel would knock most the incoming warheads down. Some would get thru...only to have a massive response that left a fried and glassed Iran.

But nuclear terrorism is a different deal. Iran would attempt
to make a plausabile denieablity case....dig up the all the 9/11 conspriracy theories and theorists....ever online to make a defense. Even reemploy Goldfarb the story teller of the Iraqi WMDs for Bush and Cheney.

We would all be sitting here on our computers....trying to
find fact in the waves of fictional misinformation, planted information, and altered information...that Iran puts out. Iran and the Revolution Guard made that $6b communication network, remember? They did not make it to put the truth out...if a Islamic terrorists uses a Iranian nuc.
