Anyone who backs Trump is not a patriot, but someone who has been deceived and unwittingly manipulated, or is a willing tool of a foreign advesary. It's was sad enough that ignorant people were so easily fooled in 2016, but for those people, who still don't realize this truth, it's pathetic and borders on treason.
W - Thanks. This country is large. While the virus has certainly not been eradicated from anywhere, the counts are way down in most of the country. It is now infecting at a much higher rate in selected states, especially those, that either did not take precautions, or gave up the precautions.
It definitely did not help, that China attempted to cover it up at first, and that Trump ignored warnings, denied it's potential and inadequately prepared for it. He HAS served as an example of what NOT to do.
Yet, Trump found the questions very hard and stated that the interviewer couldn't answer them. The interviewer laughed and said that the questions aren't hard.
The topic of the sentence had to do with microbiology. There was nothing the least bit ambiguous about my statement. Indeed, you understood the statement itself. However, you just chose not to read the only comment on the blog before mine, which I was responding to, and then you chose to ATTEMPT to ridicule me for it. That's the reality. The reason I made the comment, is that we were woefully unprepared for the current pandemic, and I didn't want to see the US woefully unprepared for another one in the future. Hopefully by then, the current inept "so-called" president will be out of office, so someone more competent will be at the helm.
My suggestion is to at least follow the flow and understand what is going on, before attempting to ridicule someone. Otherwise, you end up looking like a fool. I'm a microbiologist Mic. Do you really think you have a better understanding of this topic than me ?
I've never thought Joe was perfect. You know he's not my first choice. He was wrong about busing. However, at the time, the crime bill was in response to something needing to be done about crime. It should not have been permanent though and won't be. It definitely needs change now and I believe Joe can admit it's wrong and make positive changes.
Trump would make it worse. He's already turning the military on peaceful protesters. He's already kidnapping protesters forcing them in unmarked vans by unmarked agents in Portland. He's had 3 1/2 years to make changes and he has made just about every situation worse. Joe has improved over the years. Trump has gotten much worse. Trump's time is almost up.
mic - you do realize, that my statement of not waiting to develop a vaccine, was in response to gg's comments about a new flu carried by pigs, that she indicated might cause another pandemic, right ?
Yeah. Yeah. I could come up with many similar things for Trump. We all remember "Tim Apple" and covfefe and lots of others. But, this blog is about Trump's bragging about how well he did on the simple test and stating that Chris Wallace couldn't take the test and pass it. This was very recent.
L - I understand your frustrations. I'm sure many do. Hang in there and do the smart things, rather than give up hope, or be tempted to stop doing what is necessary to keep you from getting infected. Eventually an effective vaccine will be available. Perhaps this one may be available by September or October.

The effectiveness can only be determined as to how it protects the population from getting infected. That is not being measured. Instead, they look at the individual's inducement of #1. Antibodies and #2 T-cells. They SHOULD translate into protecting people from the disease, but it's a leap of faith. We won't know the full answer to that, except for actually doing the vaccinations and then waiting months for the results. The alternative would be to vaccinate and then intentionally inoculate with the virus. But, who would volunteer for that ?
I should add, that I just bought 7 of them at Aldi for $0.39 each. I have some more ripe ones from last week's shopping trip. To celebrate your new tree success, I will toast it now with consumption of one of the ripe mangoes now.
Yea for the 'birth' of mango. Perhaps the new owners of your old home will allow you to harvest some of the surplus from your old tree for the next decade.
