Oh aye can get quite crowded under the bridge but I've updated my blog now to be clearer. There are trollish types, and there are trolls. Trollish types, avoid. Trolls, though, should be exposed.
Red, common sense at any age would be lovely in leaders
Maybe age itself shouldn't be the issue, what's wanted is optimists with good ideas and pessimists to point out why they won't work, until an idea is forged that does work?
Bek, here's to your next checkup and being more prepared
Mimi, life with you would never be dull
Jac, one of the interviews I saw was a little hostile, the interviewer on the edge of mockery, and he was so unfazed, and came up with such forthright sensible responses, I would have voted for him on the spot. I wonder if he could be persuaded to move to the UK? A credible politician. Never thought I'd see the day.
Only 20 years (1998) since that law was repealed (i.e. execution for treason) and it is now life imprisonment. In 2004 the EU made it impossible for the UK to reintroduce capital punishment while it is part of the EU.
Z that was a leeeeeetle further than I had in mind but anyone who would genuinely turn a second chance into a productive life should have the chance - anyone who cannot stop themselves causing trouble should get trouble in spades
He's been told to keep his opinions to himself. I think there has been jiggery-pokery at the door, actual. My age settings when I checked were 24 to 55 and I was open to mail from Russia. I know for an absolute fact that I did not set things up like that, the last time I looked.
So I would say everyone should check their settings.
Harb, no idea why my settings disapproved of you, by CS rules I have to keep Europe open, I will check to see if my settings only allow mail from people over 99 - I did that at one point, but I thought it was overruled
I'd write to you to open the door but then it would look as if I was hoping you'd say nice things
My gloomy prediction for the future (the next decade or two) is that more and more of the population will be fitted with microchips - for work access (happening), for safety of children and knowing their whereabouts (happening) for fear (imminent). If you are fed a Grave Threat about illegal immigrants and told the only way the government can protect you is to be fitted with a microchip so that the citizens can be told instantly from the Bad Illegal? You'll queue for that chip.
They will - my prediction - have a little more coded into them than we are aware. Levels of coding. At some point the chip issued to the old and / or chronically infirm will be activated, perhaps "killer flu", or a "deadly virus" - what a tragedy, but bye bye problem population. Step 2 will be - which group? Who knows. But level by level the population will be reduced. At the very least, the unfit will be quietly rendered sterile and won't be able to reproduce.
Nearly everything is geared towards automation, towards reducing the need for human workers, there's no possible way any government would be watching or even funding such research without some plan for the millions, then billions, of non-productive citizens who will no longer be needed on voyage.
Fortunately I have a bubbly happy outlook on life, am never pessimistic or paranoid and best of all, old enough to remove myself as a statistic in the old-fashioned way within the next 2 decades.
Harb, he isn't a character in any of my books. And never will be because, as has become obvious, I don't know enough about the type to even create it convincingly
Someone saying they have read one of your books is like someone saying they have met one of your friends but then not saying which one, or what they thought of them. The overall impression is therefore disapproval but I shall assume it was Rainbow, about a singles website, since for some peculiar reason that is the one which interested readers from here, go figure And no, it isn't about CS (although CS was invaluable in the research. )
There are a few bloggers planning to write books about CS, though
Bekard, you are quite right, no-one in real life can be easily slotted into exact types, but I like that you want your partner to be there, not just waving you off on your own at a time of indecision!
Harb, if I could have a wife I would go for the chunky sandwiches too I like the idea of partners able to complete rely each on the other to fill in all the gaps but I don't think such relationships exist. The whole thing is simplified types.
Daears - no choice Z - an option not on the list Rob - maybe an A or B, but he thinks she will watch TV in the woods so I guess another option not on the list JJ - would go alone Vier - might murder her (so I guess that's an A or B, at that ) so safer to go alone Luke wants to know if she's hot
So apart from Robby and Ocee I pretty much got a hiding to nowhere, definitely my bad
Nam, remember he never saw service. No-one could say he has empathy with something he has never experienced - for his admirers, that's one of his strengths, he doesn't waste time worrying about things that don't affect him.
Seeing him enjoying it will probably feel okay when you see the press coverage
Well, Harb, that's where I fell down. I guess never been a guy on CS (anywhere?) who wanted to chuck all the pressure and just step outside for a break before picking up again.
I tried, and failed, to create a scenario that male-type people could relate to.
It does probably explain why most of my readers are female
Avoiding the troll blog
Yikes sorry Luke I missed your earlier commentOh aye can get quite crowded under the bridge but I've updated my blog now to be clearer. There are trollish types, and there are trolls. Trollish types, avoid. Trolls, though, should be exposed.
It's a hobby.
