Avoiding the troll blog

Yikes sorry Luke I missed your earlier comment laugh

Oh aye can get quite crowded under the bridge but I've updated my blog now to be clearer. There are trollish types, and there are trolls. Trollish types, avoid. Trolls, though, should be exposed.

It's a hobby. dunno

Avoiding the troll blog

Red, common sense at any age would be lovely in leaders laugh

Maybe age itself shouldn't be the issue, what's wanted is optimists with good ideas and pessimists to point out why they won't work, until an idea is forged that does work? daydream

Bek, here's to your next checkup and being more prepared wine

Mimi, life with you would never be dull yay

Jac, one of the interviews I saw was a little hostile, the interviewer on the edge of mockery, and he was so unfazed, and came up with such forthright sensible responses, I would have voted for him on the spot. I wonder if he could be persuaded to move to the UK? A credible politician. Never thought I'd see the day.

Perfect match - but which one?

Kal, I know you'd cope, but I hope your husband never puts you in that position! Pick well, my child. laugh

Perfect match - but which one?

Fay you're a priceless un-mined resource when can you come and stay?

Quantum weird other-worldly music - the theremin

You may yet have to get Chat to talk you through building one, but I hope you do find one, I'd love to try myself but am as musical as a hippo sigh

Like the sound of it, though

Quantum weird other-worldly music - the theremin

Daniela, I actually thought you would know of them, you're more musical than I am. I imagine they're the very devil to play though - are they, Chat?

After Chat's comment - and because his video link wasn't available in Spain - I looked up Whole Lotta Love and found the solo.

Fay, you've had some interesting husbands! applause Never a dull moment, eh?

Quantum weird other-worldly music - the theremin

Perfect match - but which one?

Ash, thanks for that - new to me, I really like that line 'And I do believe it's true that there are roads left in both our shoes'

And on that musical note I am about to post a blog about theremins -

RE: Return to sender

Only 20 years (1998) since that law was repealed (i.e. execution for treason) and it is now life imprisonment. In 2004 the EU made it impossible for the UK to reintroduce capital punishment while it is part of the EU.

Oh, but ... no, that's the other blog

RE: Grave New World

I feel ever so sorry for those robots and hope Skynet accepts that a job's a job, there was nothing personal intended.

Has, er, anyone seen a male version yet?

Asking for a friend.

Perfect match - but which one?

Seconded. I think you'd find quite a few viewers

RE: Return to sender

Z that was a leeeeeetle further than I had in mind wow laugh but anyone who would genuinely turn a second chance into a productive life should have the chance - anyone who cannot stop themselves causing trouble should get trouble in spades

Do as you would be done by

Be done by as you did

Perfect match - but which one?

He's been told to keep his opinions to himself. I think there has been jiggery-pokery at the door, actual. My age settings when I checked were 24 to 55 and I was open to mail from Russia. I know for an absolute fact that I did not set things up like that, the last time I looked.

So I would say everyone should check their settings.

Perfect match - but which one?

Harb, no idea why my settings disapproved of you, by CS rules I have to keep Europe open, I will check to see if my settings only allow mail from people over 99 - I did that at one point, but I thought it was overruled laugh

I'd write to you to open the door but then it would look as if I was hoping you'd say nice things blushing

rolling on the floor laughing

RE: Grave New World

My gloomy prediction for the future (the next decade or two) is that more and more of the population will be fitted with microchips - for work access (happening), for safety of children and knowing their whereabouts (happening) for fear (imminent). If you are fed a Grave Threat about illegal immigrants and told the only way the government can protect you is to be fitted with a microchip so that the citizens can be told instantly from the Bad Illegal? You'll queue for that chip.

They will - my prediction - have a little more coded into them than we are aware. Levels of coding. At some point the chip issued to the old and / or chronically infirm will be activated, perhaps "killer flu", or a "deadly virus" - what a tragedy, but bye bye problem population. wave Step 2 will be - which group? Who knows. But level by level the population will be reduced. At the very least, the unfit will be quietly rendered sterile and won't be able to reproduce.

Nearly everything is geared towards automation, towards reducing the need for human workers, there's no possible way any government would be watching or even funding such research without some plan for the millions, then billions, of non-productive citizens who will no longer be needed on voyage.

Fortunately I have a bubbly happy outlook on life, am never pessimistic or paranoid roll eyes and best of all, old enough to remove myself as a statistic in the old-fashioned way within the next 2 decades.

Perfect match - but which one?

Harb, he isn't a character in any of my books. And never will be because, as has become obvious, I don't know enough about the type to even create it convincingly sigh

Someone saying they have read one of your books is like someone saying they have met one of your friends but then not saying which one, or what they thought of them. uh oh The overall impression is therefore disapproval laugh but I shall assume it was Rainbow, about a singles website, since for some peculiar reason that is the one which interested readers from here, go figure roll eyes And no, it isn't about CS (although CS was invaluable in the research. rolling on the floor laughing)

There are a few bloggers planning to write books about CS, though grin

Perfect match - but which one?

Bekard, you are quite right, no-one in real life can be easily slotted into exact types, but I like that you want your partner to be there, not just waving you off on your own at a time of indecision! handshake

Perfect match - but which one?

Harb, if I could have a wife I would go for the chunky sandwiches too laugh I like the idea of partners able to complete rely each on the other to fill in all the gaps but I don't think such relationships exist. The whole thing is simplified types.

Perfect match - but which one?

Harb - nah. Let's summarise

Daears - no choice
Z - an option not on the list
Rob - maybe an A or B, but he thinks she will watch TV in the woods so I guess another option not on the list
JJ - would go alone
Vier - might murder her (so I guess that's an A or B, at that laugh) so safer to go alone
Luke wants to know if she's hot

So apart from Robby hug and Ocee hug I pretty much got a hiding to nowhere, definitely my bad rolling on the floor laughing

Perfect match - but which one?

I'm guessing you're not an A laugh

Otherwise - not a clue confused

RE: "OF ALL PLACES"

Nam, remember he never saw service. No-one could say he has empathy with something he has never experienced - for his admirers, that's one of his strengths, he doesn't waste time worrying about things that don't affect him.

Seeing him enjoying it will probably feel okay when you see the press coverage handshake

Perfect match - but which one?

Well, Harb, that's where I fell down. I guess never been a guy on CS (anywhere?) who wanted to chuck all the pressure and just step outside for a break before picking up again.

I tried, and failed, to create a scenario that male-type people could relate to.sigh

It does probably explain why most of my readers are female roll eyes

Perfect match - but which one?

Wow, Ash, you saw some great qualities in this guy and his relationship applause

What's fretting at me a little is that a lot of the women responding could picture the whole scenario and relate to it. Very few of the men!

I know I don't know much about men. That's why I need this sort of feedback. moping

Perfect match - but which one?

You keep well Boet, always a treat to see you on here bouquet

Perfect match - but which one?

Luke most of the guys who responded on this were just kidding laugh

So I am obviously missing a perfect match a regular guy would want, no surprise there sigh

Perfect match - but which one?

Kal, I'm not disagreeing laugh

RE: Just Like Any Ordinary Night...

I haven't been around the CS blogs as much as in the past, what happened to Chicken Wings? Did you burn him out? laugh

And oops re the shirt eek I shall tell that story if anyone ever expects ironing from me, because I just know I would do it too uh oh

RE: Just Like Any Ordinary Night...
