No worries Trish. I think the whole thing affects us all. And I don't think you even came close to getting down to his level.

Take care

RE: Hi people

Welcome, have a great time..

RE: Obama for President,Too!

Dude, I offered you an opportunity to keep things on the positive and you give me a line from Dirty Harry.. hahaha

OK, have it your way.... A Declaration of War now exists between the Danish Republic of Dude (AKA Obama Camp) and the American Republic of Sparky (AKA McCain Camp)

I will keep to the high ground and only stick to facts. It should be plenty to keep you off balance.

Let's start with this.

Follow the link and discover Obama's agenda on gun control. Very Accurate review with words quoted from the man himself and a voting record to back it up. Those who understand the meaning of the 2nd Amendment will have a huge problem with Obama over this issue. If you're curious why it hasn't yet been brought up, it's because Hillary has the same beliefs. McCain will score big on this. Next issue coming up after you've had a moment to refute this.

Again, I'm happy to call a cease fire if you stop the negatives...

Have a Nice Day

RE: new sins via the Vatican

Yeah, there are a lot of little things like that which makes no sense. Divorce being another one of them. But, the night is upon me and I have an early work day tomorrow. That will have to wait for another day.

RE: new sins via the Vatican

This was a good post Mindful and I hope us jokesters can keep it to a minimum.

So in all seriousness, I thnk the Vatican needs to clean up their own backyard before they begin to tell the flock how they should live. The press isn't disgracing the church, the leadership does that all by themselves when they fail to adequately address their problems by attempting covering them up.

As for the social injustice for the increasing differences between the poor and the rich... I wonder just how much money they have in their banks and how many low level priests are doing everything in their power to help their communities with money collected locally but being sent to the Vatican where it gets sucked into a giant vacuum and disappears with little or none coming back to the very communities they got it from.

It would seem if they want some credibility then they should use the money they raise to help the needy. A p*dophile priest with a taste for choirboys doesn't seem to be the person deserving the help. Those millions of dollars could have done some real good. I have completely lost respect for what seems like corporate religeous institutions..

I believe Larry Bird was born there as well. Go Celtics...

Good Luck Malta

What a party! The elections are over and tower road is silent save one or two diehard horn blowers. Hope you all enjoyed this thread. Time for bed...

Good Luck Malta

Congratulations Malta! Still amazed at the voter turn out percentages and active participation. Now, could we stop blowing the damn horns??? laugh

RE: Second Amendment Rights

If we consider the voting rates of the US (About 60% for 2000 & 62% for 2004) It would seem we could move the country more effectively if we got off our butts and voted and I think this was proven during the 2006 elections.

I agree with your views on the 2nd ammendment (we should have the right to bear arms) However, if we have collectively ingored by large the other tools we have available to make change then we are no better then the "war pigs" we would raise arm against.

RE: Whatever Happened To America Used To Support It's Own Defense Industry?

Yes but I think that's only one side of the story. Perhaps if the big companies in the US were not so greedy, they could probably provide the goods and/or services the military needs at less costs than their competition which would land them the defense contracts.

It's true we cannot compete with some of the 3rd world countries because of labor costs in the US versus their labor costs. In this case however as is the case when we talk about advanced technology, we are talking about work force costs of about the same (Europe vs US). I can only conclude that the reason the US companies aren't getting the fat defense contracts is because they have greedy.

Like you, I would much rather see this industry kept in the US but if we are going spend money on our military for upgrades it would seem that we would want the best product at the cheapest price. To do otherwise would be fiscally irresponsible.

We already do this in several areas. The Fly America Act is a great example. I live most of my life overseas and it involves a lot of travel. when I travel for the government, I am required to fly a US based air carrier (if available) In almost every case, these flights are much more expensive. This done in the name of protecting US Air Carriers. It makes no sense and the amount of money we spend doing it is crazy.

Anyway, JMO.

RE: The Man Vote

Could be true to a point. I would never vote for someone I wouldn't be willing to sit down and have a brew with.

I can't really say about the beer goggles with the available candidates (none are attractive to me) Too bad John Edwards dropped out so quickly... laugh laugh

RE: Obama for President,Too!

HAHAHA I don't know if he did it from behind or not but I would not expect Monica to support Obama or anyone in the democratic party anytime soon. Seems the last democrat she supported left a bad taste in her mouth.

RE: Iran:Under the boots of Ayaytullahs

Hi Longbird,

Some really intersting and tragic stuff. It will take some time to really take it in but I wanted to say thanks again for posting this thread and didn't want you to think your words were written to a blind audience. After all, we asked you to do it.

RE: Iran:Under the boots of Ayaytullahs

Hi again Trish. Sorry, I kinda lost track of this thread over the past couple of days but I want to continue this conversation. I will make it a point to look up some more information on this and share it with you. wave
