That's the arrogance of Christianity, and of many other cults. They know the truth, and you better believe them, or else.
Saddest part is, many of these cultists do actually believe what the brainwashing has instilled into them. I wonder if there's any hope for them to recover, to be "real people" again, instead of cult zombies wandering the Earth, preaching and trying to lure others into their fold.
I'm also convinced that many of them "share" their beliefs simply to convince themselves that the crap they spew is real. Part of the brainwashing, repetition, and they'll attempt to inflict it upon anyone that will listen.
For one thing, less meddling by religion. All of a sudden they didn't have the power to suppress, oppress, burn people at the stake, drown them, etc.. They couldn't brand people as heretics and imprison them, as they had for several millennia before.
People woke up to the scam, control, and started rejecting it en masse.
From reading the thread, it looks more like an effort to gain popular opinion, in order to deflect any labels or accusations before they spread among the gossipers on here.
I agree, bad form, to the extreme, especially when the woman isn't able to share her side of the story. I'm sure she'd paint a lovely picture of him as well.
I think there's someone for everyone, if not a few thousand. It's just that people seem to have an impossible ideal impregnated into their mind, as to who it is and what they should be like. Hence, they're single for years, if not decades or a lifetime, waiting for that "perfect for them" person to come along.
Is that another "rule" about what "true" love is all about?
Who sets these rules, and do they actually have any merit or meaning, in reality?
I "like" a number of people, some that I've never had any contact with, and I also love a number of people, some that I no longer have any contact with. It's not down to a matter of definitions, of what love is, it's more of how you feel towards someone, and your actions, even if it's letting go.
