RE: What is the best age for a man to marry for the first time?

I was just thinking that by the age of 400, I might warm up to the idea of having someone around. You know, to help me out around the house, talk to, and possibly change my Depends. laugh

RE: What is the best age for a man to marry for the first time?

I think over 600 is pushing it a little, maybe 400 or so, it seems like a nice ripe age for marriage. After the first, marry a few more, start a harem, what will it matter anyway.laugh

RE: Thomas Edison

Well, I've watched a few documentaries about the early days of electricity, as well as done a lot of reading, it's of great interest to me. I have to say, Edison and Westinghouse were both egomaniacs, and both filthy rich.

Chep is still the largest pallet company on the planet, and a friend of mine, who's staying with me right now, works for them in Vancouver. They're a decent company to work for, which is as big a part of them being the biggest, not just holding patent rights for a period of time.

Mercedes makes oodles of money, they don;t have to have the rights to everything they design or build, because they build a quality product. I can't say the same on the ML series SUVs, or anything else they stamped their name on when they got into bed with Chryco, it's simply trash.

Henry Ford was another egomaniac, and at one time the world's richest man, and a control freak. Look up P.L.Robertson, and the superior screw head design he had, that was basically "barred" from the US market, because of Ford.

Ummm, if you mean the Chevy small block, it didn't come out until 1955, and although long lived, it wasn't the best V8, and inferior to a lot of Ford engines, period. Look at the the Ford SOHC 427, or the Boss 429, or any of the 385 or 335 family engines, far superior to the SBC or BBC. Even a GM engineer is quoted as saying a Ford cylinder head was the best he'd ever seen when talking about the canted valve 335/385 heads. Can't remember if it was Harley Earl or Duntov.

The only sad part is, Ford didn't build their best in huge numbers, but even the run of the mill small and big blocks are superior, just a little more expensive. I've had quite a few from both makes, and still do, but more Ford iron by far. cool

RE: compliments

I guess, but the one thing I've learned from being up late is, the amount of farting old farts do, even in their sleep. I'm surprised my eyes aren't burning out of their sockets. laugh

BLOODY HELL!!! I just realised, I'll have to wash the bedding when they leave.uh oh

RE: Thomas Edison

Well, he did have to give up on DC power for distribution, no matter how many animals he had electrocuted to try prove that AC was "dangerous". blues

It's funny how people can be, when there's profit at stake, even if they're wrong. uh oh

Only now is there any merit for DC for mass transmission, with the available technology, well over 100 years later.

Those poor dogs, horses, and anything else he could procure to electrocute, simply for ego and greed. moping

RE: What should be done with Cannabis.

That's pretty much the way it is in Canada at the moment, but if the current Conservative government gets their way, things will change. They want the "good old days" back, where they turn everyone into a criminal, for possessing as little as a joint, complete with minimum sentences, not fines.

It's a step back, but I guess that's the Conservative mentality, backwards thinking, it's a tradition after all.roll eyes

Who votes these a**hole in, it must be other a**hole? doh

RE: FBI Asked To Probe Obama 'Vote Changing' Machines

Hi HL hug

I think Ron Paul could have made a huge difference 4 years ago, now, maybe not as much, but sadly he was never given the chance. I just don't understand all thos flag waving patriots that have their heads jammed so far up their own asses, as well as their party's. You'd think that in a country like the US, that people would be able to think for themselves, and make better choices. sigh

Don't feel too bad, it's the same here in Canada, and I suspect in most countries around the globe.

RE: A man without a face

I haven't carved out my heart, nor am I slicing off pieces of my soul, so no need to worry. cowboy

It's just a little cynisism, and it too shall pass, just like everything else in life. Really, why worry about a picture when so few would ever take time out of their life to actually get to know someone. It's such a superficial world we live in, and it likely always has been that way, so nothing new.

Another day begins, or rather, fades into the next, guess I should have had a nap. laugh

RE: What's on your mind .... Part 5

Not as far as I know, different format from what I understand. A friend of mine lived in Scotland for 4 years and brought back DVDs and they won't play on the average DVD player here.
