I know the person and they are not gaming. They are just one of those organised logical people who spreadsheets everything. Believe me, I thought it was a bit weird too when he first told me But there is nothing sick about him.
As for photos, they are not important to me. I prefer to read the words and get their personality that way. Sometimes pics can put you off before you give the personality a chance to shine. But having said that, physical attraction is very important to me when it comes to actually dating.
It is only a temporary eye patch. You said your eye would be healed in a few months. If you meet someone you like enough to go on a date with in the meantime, I'm sure you will have told him the story, and if he still wants to meet you, then there's no problem.
Why don't you look into holiday companies that specialise in singles holidays? You would be with others in a similar situation, and getting to know new places as well as new people.
If you don't want to travel, how about volunteering at a local homeless shelter. Christmas is usually their busiest time, and they could always use an extra pair of hands serving Christmas dinner, etc,
Finally, go to your local animal rescue centre and get yourself a new pet when you feel ready. You will be saving not only the new animal, but also have company for the future as well.
