israel has been under attack since it became an independent state in 1947. the six day war is where they gained more territory. they gave up territory, the gaza strip, in 2005 as part of a peace agreement.
it's a war and from what i see, israel is still having to defend itself from threats constantly. peace talks haven't gained much ground and i could care less about palestine as both sides might be guilty. it's like one of those never ending wars.
israel still suffered attacks and so feel no ties between what's going on now in that region still, and any thing to do with martial law.
martial law? no. government should not be allowed to take that kind of control over citizens. they can't guarantee safety by suppressing freedom. it's only purpose is to exact control.
the 2nd amendment rights in the u.s. exists to help prevent the government from abusing it's powers. it ensures a way for the people to fight back when they've had enough. another u.s. revolution may not be a bad idea in the long run. it would of course lead to a 2nd civil war as well.

i think women are potentially similar across the globe. just fewer chances of something traditional and true even though we have one of the largest populations on the planet. i've seen a lot change from my youngest years to present. not all in good directions either.
