I have been on dates with several people off here. Some were fun, some liars, some weird, some downright dangerous, all of them interesting...
I also made friends who will be my friends for life.
You appear to be maybe exhibiting little signs of impatience with the site, or maybe the people on it at the moment, but patience, tolerance and hard work will reward you eventually. You just have to systematically target the people whom you want to date and make a concerted effort to make that happen.
Chatting more on here might help that and let people see who you are and what you think about the world.
A lie is a lie to me and I csn't abide liars, but there is this weird streak in me that has to satisfy itself as to why someone would do that, so I sit and listen and learn.......... then leave.
Intellectual discourse, true intellectual discourse only happens in very small circles among people who have doctorates. It's a very exclusive club.
I know this to be a fact because I was told this in no uncertain terms by people with doctorates. I have been on the receiving end of this intellectual snobbery myself many times.
Apparantly people who haven't reached this degree of academic excellence are humoured, but not taken seriously, even frowned upon for having the temerity to presume to know anything worth listening to, because they haven't read enough to do a subject justice.
This is not then, by those standards, intellectual discourse. This is just an exchange of opinions.
Astrology, from what I have been told and read, was a subject studied by philosophers, long before Plato's time, and it was much more complicated as a subject than it is today. It was something akin to calculating moving, gyrating, mass/space/time 3-4d math, (as I understood the explaination).
I believe that astrology is not only popular, but often believable today because of the length of time it has been used to good effect on everyone from princes to paupers, wars were won and lost on it's effects and it covers everything from love to laziness.
If a subject has been investigated and refined for, to our knowlege, over 5000 years, then surely it has to have some merit, particularly since some of the ancient texts mention planets and moons that we are only just discovering today, because most of that written knowlege had been lost to us during religious wars, the dark ages, world wars etc.
I would agree with previous posts that it has to be calculated to the second of someone's birth to get an accurate reading of character etc though.

I think it is good that you are taking the time to get a few good ideas from other people as well as mulling this over yourself.
If you are only doing this to avoid assimilating yourself into a former life that you don't think will work for you, then in my opinion this would be the wrong reason to go and put your life in danger.
Alright the outcome could be great and you might feel useful and worthwhile, but there are many other ways of doing this without having a death wish.
Afghanistan and Iraq are a lot like Northern Ireland used to be. People in those circumstances often have extreme views and act irrationally, and often the do-gooder is the victim of all that misguided anger.
For anything to be a success in life, you have to be pure in your intentions, and what you undertake must be what you love to do above all else. There can be no escapology in your agenda.....
There was a time when I needed a wheelchair, (badly broken foot), and people , even ones I knew well, kind of overlooked me in conversations, and treated me deferentially.
It is the case maybe with lots of disabilities.
My son lost his voice once and his clients and friends started shouting at him like he was deaf too. (Though why anyone shouts at a deaf person is beyond me).
Courts only accept evidence as proof. She neeeds to get written proof that he sends money abroad or has other accounts. She also needs to get written proof of her character etc. She needs to get written evidence to counter the so called proof that he is gathering against her mothering skils. Unfortunately the courts will not take anything less than proof in written form from reliable sources.
