25 years ago today, I met my ex-husband. It was at my brother-in-law's birthday party. I had gotten off work (as a cocktail waitress) early & decided to go over. My ex & his 2 cousins were there. They asked if I could drive them to another party, so I agreed. It turned out that they didn't exactly know where the other party was, so we drove around for a bit. When we got there, I walked over with them & had one drink. I got up & headed back to my car, when I heard shuffling behind me. As I turned around, he grabbed me & kissed me. I ended up staying with him the rest of the night.
The rest, as they say, is history. While he had many faults & I have many bad memories with him, I also have some good memories. And the best thing he ever did in his life was give me my precious daughter, who in turn, gave me 3 beautiful grandchildren.
I can't believe it was that long ago! I was only 19 & he was 22 when we met. We were just babies who hadn't even lived life yet.
Honestly, I do a lot by myself. You know me Dru & know that I probably wouldn't be phased by this. I've gone into bars by myself... although sometimes I do get shy & nervous doing that, if I don't know anybody. But I must look at least somewhat friendly, because people normally talk to me.
There are a couple of movies coming out that look really good. I'd like to see "The Ugly Truth" with Gerard Butler & Katherine Heigl & "Julie & Julia" with Meryl Streep. My best friend isn't much of a movie-goer... heck, she rarely watches TV! So, I think I'll just go it alone. As you & others have suggested, you just never know who might be sitting next to me! And if you've ever seen "Unfaithful", maybe I'll even have some hot young french guy sitting there!!
There are a few movies coming out that I'd really like to see & don't want to depend on my friends to accompany me to see them. If I go alone, will I look pathetic?
I went to the store yesterday & bought a gallon of distilled water. Drank some this morning. I munched on organic walnuts for breakfast, as I didn't have time to make anything else & all I have here at work is bread & butter.
I think I'll go to the store & make myself a salad for lunch. Not sure about dinner yet.
RE: Say Something, Anything....but be NICE Not! lol
Well, it sure was HOT!Besides, they really dress it up.
