I'd like to say I completely agree with that. It is quite a revelation to know there are such sensitive and intelligent men here, and yes, caring too. Here is the all the fellas on CS wine

RE: McCain Picks Sarah Palin.....

Ask women. The issue is never that simple or straightforward. The important thing is to have free discussion and argument. However, we must not be quick to pass judgment on others.

RE: McCain Picks Sarah Palin.....

I agree with you. A bit like some 'greenies', who seem to just pick and choose the causes that appeal to them on the day. Often, these people, such as those you describe, continue to make decisons based purely on their own irrational self interest.dunno

Hi everyone

I haven't been on CS too long, but have had the pleasure and delight of getting to know some of you a bit more every day, on these forums.

Next Saturday, I am embarking on a long flight across the other side of the world, so I will not be online much in that time. Will miss the fun, but at least of have this coming week to enjoy the free entertainment!!!rolling on the floor laughing

But when I get back, I will only want to know the juicy bits, and lots of goss!laugh Hope I can tune in every now and then, and take some sneak peeks!laugh

RE: Would you/did you ever travel to your online mate who lives overseas?

It can also be pretty good. wine You don't have to have a long distance relationship for things to go bad. Not telling you anything you don't know thoughdunno

RE: You can't go to sleep you have to keep me company................

OK. Here goes......

Once upon a time, there was this place called CS. Not sure what it stands for exactly. 'They' like us to think it stands for "Connecting Singles", but I think that's just a front. A cover up. What I REALLY think it means is "Canary Sandhills". And I think that is actually a code for something, but can't remember what. But I heard from someone who knows someone, that if you repeat this code, it gets you into all kinds of places. Places you would never dream of visiting. Like a heavy opera all spoken in German, and you don't speak German. And it might also get you into McDonalds after hours. I think the cleaners can let you in. I don't think you can actually buy anything to eat or drink, cos, hey, they are just cleaners, not cooks.......

hollandgirl, wake up! doh I'm telling you a story!!!!dunno

RE: Would you/did you ever travel to your online mate who lives overseas?

Ah, vonney... Where is your sense of adventure? I mean, sure, he might reject you, humiliate you, make you cry perhaps, if you're lucky. After all, you really should balance things out and experience the full range of human emotion, not just the nice ones. Throw in a few that make you wish you had never left home. Now, THAT's a holiday to brag about!!!

RE: is a bar a bad place to meet someone ?

Depending which part of the world you're in, probably not much.

I do know that in bars around Adelaide, you can't go and have a counter meal there, but you can in a pub/hotel. Most bars here only serve drinks. I just can't sit there and drink all nightdunno

But at pubs/hotels, you can order meals, mostly even a la carte.

I don't know what that means, but I think 'the aliens are coming' !!! laugh

Quick, super I think they're about to beam us up!

RE: is a bar a bad place to meet someone ?

A modern bar as in most modern cities. Mary was there with her girlfriend, having drinks like everyone else there, as people do, during the olympics. Any excuse will do!

Me? Nah, I don't go to bars, but occasionally go to pubs, to listen to a live band playing. So guess I'm not looking for a prince! They would have too many airs and graces for my liking!!! laugh

RE: You can't go to sleep you have to keep me company................

Hi hollandgirlwave How are you doing after such a sleepless night? Wish I could have chatted, but it is only just the end of my work day, well, almost.

Did you make yourself a hot cocoa or something yummy like that?

RE: is a bar a bad place to meet someone ?

No, not a good idea, except if you happen to be a prince!!! rolling on the floor laughing

Our Mary Donaldson, from Tasmania, Australia, met her Prince Frederik in a bar in Sydney during the Olypmics! smitten Now she is Princess Mary with two royal babies!

RE: Let's learn Spanish!

huebos flamenco

huebos = eggs

flamenco = no idea! But it's somethign to do with 'flaming'. Anyway, it's an egg dish, where the egg is kind of poached in a tomato /pea stew. Quite yummy!

RE: Let's learn Spanish!

Ha! So you've already gone for the sangria?

laugh

RE: Let's learn Spanish!

In Madrid, I saw a whole 'cebeza' a sheep's head in fact, served up to someone for lunch, as you would serve up a whole snapper or trout!uh oh

RE: Let's learn Spanish!

Yep, it is red. Not blood, but flows freely through it! laugh

Its an alcoholic beverage made from red wine, and served chilled, scooped up from a large bowl, with pieces of fresh fruit floating on top. Well, that's how it was served in the informal eating places of Madrid and Granada.

No wonder they have so many siestas!!!rolling on the floor laughing
