That's the sort of thing my brother and his wife would do. They have 5 children, and few years ago, they left my parents' home after a family reunion, minus one child, their 10 yr old daughter. The rest of us just waited for the call from them, but it didn't come.
So much later, we thought we'd play a prank, and we rang them asking for the child they'd forgotten about. We could hear on the phone, each family member calling out for gabriella. Suddenly the voices got louder and louder, and the unmistakable panic in the parents' voices hitting fever pitch. Well, we were rolling around the ground by then!!!
Sorry to hear that Matthew, that kinda sucks. Doesn't make a lot of sense though. She couldn't have been much in the 'here and now'. Rebound or not, important to leave it behind and enjoy the person you're with!
All the best, you will meet someone who deserves you!
Of-course, and certainly nothing wrong in trying to minimise one's risk. Would love to do more of it. The hazards of having to get from A to B in under 2 + hours per trip. Dang!
Hi, Looking around this thread, there seem to be a few of us expressing support and concern. Nothing wrong with that. And sure hope they are seeing the sunshine, lol.
I have known people who were walking home, and collapsed on the side walk close to home, and died. None of us can escape death. It chooses us, rather than the other way round, most times.
Yikes!!! Passengers on a packed jumbo jet flight from London have spoken of their terror after a gaping hole appeared in the plane as it headed for Australia.
...As I said in the Madrid plane crash thread, all these dramas with Qantas have been occurring since we outsourced a lot of the aircraft maintenance offshore. We had an impeccable reputation until then. Now I think the lot of them should be grounded, and only serviced in Australia!

Some passengers vomited when oxygen masks had to be used as the Melbourne-bound Qantas Boeing 747 plane prepared to make an emergency landing at Manila in the Philippines.
OK Claayer, what did I tell you just yesterday about Qantas?! I have to fly in those planes each time I go to Alice Springs!!!
So glad you made it through your teen years and beyond. Too many tragedies with young people suiciding. It's all kept so hush hush, but it is a real issue in society. You have obviously doing so much work and continue to.
Great to hear you say this, Raymond. Remember, we are essentially made of a whole heap of electrical wiring and chemicals all in one big intricate mix. It's so easy for our system to get 'out of tune'. Sometimes it doesn't take much to upset the electrical firing in our brain. Do be mindful of the quality of your thoughts, and try to reframe any negative thinking into something more positive and constructive, inevitably it will be a much less catastrpohic thinking pattern.
The other thing is to be mindful of being more in the 'here and now'. Go for a walk, be close to nature, notice the flower bud, walk near water, listen to sounds of the birds, they are very uplifting. All the best. And do smile. It's hard to be sad if you smile. better still. Hire some very funny dvd's.
Yes, must get the pocket size evian spray. About the babies and children, could try spiking their drinks, which while tempting is verboten . Extra duty ear plugs are in order. But thanks for reminding me, I shall have to call the airlines, and check the seating allocation, FAR AWAY from young ones!
Hi jbibiza, I meant to ask you, if that is ok, just wondered where your travels take you each year. There isn't much you don't know about the world of flight then, lol.
By the way, yes, iPhones are available in Australia. Except that I just recently bought yet another new phone which is great for regional and remote areas, so I hesitate in getting another. I will be activating 'global roaming' service with my provider, which allows me to make and receive calls on my current mobile(cell phone)number.
I found my new portable dvd player which I'd bought about 18mths ago on sale, and not used it yet. It plays all kinds of discs including mp3 music, so might take that as it has a remote as well, headphones etc. Should fit ok in my carry on bag. So, thanks for reminding of the gizmo, lol
