Went to Germany hoping for loads of snow..not a bit until we were gettingon the plane home Murphys' law strikes again I want snow!
Vancouver has rain and is flooding away. So of course I went to bed thinking of the same for us, a mere 3-4 hour drive inland. Rain, rain ohhhh beautiful rain. Ohhhhhhhh no! We have more snow and it is still coming down. To judge by the grey sky, there is a lot more coming down the pike.

I was thinking the other day about washandjes lol, are the Dutch not geniusses? They are so practica eh and hey Christine they make great presents if your looking for something different to give. What I also liked is the peanut bakjes. One large dish for the nuts then a scoop in it and induvidual dishes, so no one has to use their fingers that have just been licked, into the main dish.
To begin with I do not agree that soo much Dutch is similair to German as I would be speaking German today. Most of my music is German none is in Dutch. I listen to a special Dutch program send to me and frankly I can't stand it most of the time. The war; I remember the words of a German soldier when I was only about 6 years "old; Ich habben de krieg nicht gewilt" Sorry if spelled wrong. The Dutch know very well it was not the common Germans, they have suffered also, but the Nazzies.
The Frisian language is spoken by all the Frisians living in the province of Friesland. They are a fanatic bunch when it comes to keeping their Frisian language alive. All the traffic signs must be at least be bi-langual.

When I speak my dialect the Germans speaking low German can understand me or I them. I find languages fasinating it opens up the world. The other day in a restaurant someone called out "Donde" where? Hey I could understand it. It is Spanish and French too I believe. In the windows of many dutch homes you see a sign saying; Do no place your bikes here SVP. Pardon is often heard. I tried to show someone how many French words the Dutch use but I had to give it up. Google it it will tell you all you wished to know.
Hey girl pluck away we can take it. Greek and latin is to be found in many languages. All the words you mentioned are the very same in Dutch. See you did not know how much Dutch you already knew did you? Give me more words lol and I will tell you if the Dutch has them or not.

They made a back up copy and the crazy thing is that my Documents are 100% right but my email addresses not. I got them back from three years ago but lost recent ones.

I hate most of the changes too. The advertising makes no sence I clicked on one in the beginnig but it does not even open up. It does not take long to totally ignore all of the adds.
