Not a thing. Even with all the hell I have endured it made me who I am today. Without those relationships ending I never would have found the One God intended me to spend eternity with. Even if I had found her, I never would have left my exes without due cause, and even my Love's perfection would never have been due cause. The Old Hag David Hufford, in 1971, while conduction research in Newfoundland, came across a strange phenomenon in local folklore named the Old Hag. According to local accounts, this Hag was some unknown creature that attacked its sleeping victims while they lie in their beds.
These strange accounts recorded instances of waking up suddenly, but being unable to move as some entity seemed to press down or "sit" on their chest.
Hufford soon discovered the commonality of this event not only in Newfoundland, but across North America as well.
The Old Hag phenomenon, however, is not exclusive to North American experience. In the small East Asian country of Laos, there is an old account of a creature known as Dab Tsog that fits the same profile as the North American Hag. Dab Tsog is referred to as one of many kinds of Dab - creatures who live in caves and holes underground by day, but venture forth at night to terrorize their victims.
The Old Hag phenomenon is rampant among Western folklore, though the stories surrounding the origin of this nightime paralysis are as varied as any folk tale can be. Speculations abound about this "Old Hag" being everything from a demon or malevolent spirit, to, in fact, extraterrestials.
Science itself has been unable to track down the exact cause of this disorder, and though studies of sleep paralysis have been completed in depth, the vast reports of hallucinatory occurrences are still unaccountable. It is extremely common for individuals experiencing this phenomenon to see otherworldly entities, experience the feeling of a presence, and hear chattering voices while they lie there unable to move.
Since 1977 more than a hundred Southeast Asian immigrants in the United States have died from the mysterious disorder known as sudden unexpected nocturnal death syndrome (SUNDS). SUNDS had an unusually high incidence among recently relocated Laotian Hmong refugees. All but one of the victims were men, the median age was thirty-three, all were apparently healthy, and all died during their sleep. Despite numerous studies of SUNDS, which have taken into account such varied factors as toxicology, heart disease, sleep apnea and other sleep disorders, genetics, metabolism, and nutrition, medical scientists have not been able to determine its exact cause. Medical opinion appears to favor an impairment of the electrical pathways and specialized muscle fibers that contract the heart. It is widely held, however, that some type of intense stressor is likely an additional risk factor.
The medical folklorist Shelley Adler postulates that a supernormal nocturnal experience that is part of Hmong traditional beliefs can trigger the fatal syndrome. The experience is referred to as a "night-mare," not in the modern sense of a bad dream, but rather in its original denotation as the nocturnal visit of an evil being that threatens to press the very life out of its terrified victim. Hmong refugees in the United States experience a culture-specific manifestation of the universal nightmare phenomenon. The Hmong Nightmare (known as dab tsog) causes cataclysmic psychological stress, which can trigger sudden death. Although the Dab Tsog attack in Laos is related to the worldwide nightmare tradition, the peculiar stresses of Hmong refugee experience transformed its outcome. The power of traditional belief in the nightmare—in the context of the trauma of war, migration, rapid acculturation, and inability to practice traditional healing and ritual—causes cataclysmic psychological stress to male Hmong refugees that can result in SUNDS.
Well I can breathe easier now that the majority of the work is done but there is yet 10,000+ books to rummage through. They cannot move with us because the take up more room than the furniture. I agree all the wonderful advice here helped me to find a few things I had forgotten or overlooked and now I feel much better with them done. More time for us to do whatever it is that we choose to do. This time together is worth any and all exertions I could possibly have managed just to ensure that the time is ours and ours alone. If my Love lived on the moon I would steal a shuttle or build one of my own. There is nothing but ourselves that stand in the way of Love. If you will not put forth the effort then it isn't Love. Love knows no bounds and is the best reason for living.

I listen to music, write, draw, walk in the forest, play with my cats, talk with friends... oh wait those are also the things I do when I am not feeling happy and then they correct the issue and make me find happy again.

I only sleep two hours a day usually. Occasionally a four hour sleep climbs in there to throw me off my kilter, but then again I will often go a few days with no sleep at all. I have the time and more energy than a 10 year old. I am sure she will cure the overabundance of energy and likely the sleep issue as well. I could never leave a bed she is in. (likely not even if it were on fire- unless I was carrying her to safety)
She Loves me and that is all I could ever have asked of her and more. Plenty of men would do this but they have the serious doubt syndrome as to whether or not the woman would stick around. Terrible thing carrying past grievances into a new life. Damn with the luck I have had I am surprised I never applied for a license to hunt women (with a rifle). But I know that each and every woman is a treasure of her own and unique from all others. I just got unlucky enough to find a mated pair. Looked where I had never looked before. In the heart and soul. Rather than let anyone find me this time. Trust me I have been very challenging to her nerves at times but that is me, and in this she knows the best and worstand still she is there. My best friend and the only woman I will ever marry.
Of course work stays in the world but I will not allow this stuff to get between us. I have 41 years of things to catch up with her. No cleaning in that equation until we make our own messes. Then I will wrastle her to do it for her.
As it is completely a surprise (I believe to make up for all the Christmas and birthday gifts I never received) I do not know and as often as I ask all I know is that before I know it she will be here. Imagine 41 birthdays and Christmases all rolled into one. She's going to ruin me... and I'm going to be floating...

I disagree. The courts are based on money alone. Right and wrong are for sale. Lady Justice is no longer blind except when she is paid to be. My first ex in court won the custody of our children even though her and her boyfriend were on the front page of the local newspaper for a half-million dollar drug raid with guns fired. She threated Children's Aid with violence if they returned to their property (in the forest of course to keep prying eyes away). She abused our daughter and the hospital records proved this. They have guns at their house to this day. They continue to sell drugs. I have no criminal record, own my home, have a good respectable job and yet I have no contact with my children because I cannot afford to outbid them in court. Where are the facts and evidence? Where is the Justice?
Two witnesses on opposite sides of a street are present for a crime. They are interviewed separately, and both report specific differences. How is this possible when the ground zero of the event was their location? Truth is always going to be something outside of the realm of humans. All we have is our own feeble subjective discernment. Truth is universal and all that lies on this lofty plane is beyond our ability to comprehend. Of course we get glimpses but our environmental conditioning tints it for our acceptance. A comic book has a wonderful means of extrapolating this. Does not matter which comic (unless it is utter tripe of course). One panel has a sillhouetted man with a raised axe. The next has a bloodied body lying on the ground. The truth lies in the borders between the panels. Our subjective imagination fills in the blanks. The facts in the two panels remain the same but the blank space is filled uniquely by each reader or witness. Such is truth. JMO
Sadly she is not a fan of flowers unless they are hand picked. Too much snow for that enterprise as of yet but I have picked flowers every year whether or not there was someone to give them to. My house is always filled with fresh flowers while they grow wild. Candles for the bathroom just hit the list of things I need though.
Hey you pay into it, you have every right to let it ease your time while looking for another job that is suitable, or furthering an education or even just watching the Wings win a few more regular season games before they take the Cup home again. I have an undercounter water filtration system I installed a year ago. I also have a brita. And I have bought bottled water. Looking into a water cooler too.
Water in Canada tastes (actually has no taste like it is supposed to) like water still, so it could be a shock for sure.
