RE: Should I Continue To Go To This Church

Isaiah 66:1 The heaven is My throne/And the earth is My footstool/Where could you build a house for Me,/What place could (possibly) serve as My abode?

1Ki 8:27 But will God indeed dwell on the earth? behold, the heaven and heaven of heavens cannot contain thee; how much less this house that I have builded?

2Ch 6:18 But will God in very deed dwell with men on the earth? behold, heaven and the heaven of heavens cannot contain thee; how much less this house which I have built!

Act 17:24 God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands;

Act 7:48 Howbeit the most High dwelleth not in temples made with hands; as saith the prophet,
Act 7:49 Heaven my throne, and earth my footstool: what house will ye build me? saith the Lord: or what the place of my rest?
Act 7:50 Hath not my hand made all these things?

RE: Should I Continue To Go To This Church

The traveling man is Christ and the servants are us. If he gives us something of value (the Word) and we refuse to share it we are failing His teaching. To withold his word or bury it in a secret place (the Mormon temple) is wrong. Our tithe on earth is not monetary but rather the sharing of the Word.
It is expected of us to do this.

RE: Should I Continue To Go To This Church

You are welcome. There are a few others I will add later but they elude me while my mind is torn between eating and reading. I will solve the one so as to best focus on the other.hug

RE: Should I Continue To Go To This Church

What does the Word tell you about this?
If they are trying to contradict the Word of God from the Bible then are they really Christians?
The Word is of the trinity. God the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost.

“For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of sound mind.”
II Timothy 1:7
“There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth not is made perfect in love.”
I John 4:18

Their words make you feel fear. Therefore they are not of God.

“Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.”
I John 4:7-8

Everyone that Loves God is born of God. Not just those in any specific church.

“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”
II Chronicles 7:14

“For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.”
Acts 2:39

The promise is to all.

“Therefore it is of faith, that it might be sure to all thy seed; not to that only which is of the law, but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham; who is the father of us all,”
Romans 4:16
“That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.”
Galatians 3:14
“And if ye be Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.”
Galatians 3:29

Faith is the only answer. Faith leads to Hope and both together lead to God. God is Love and the path therefore is quite clear.

God Bless

“And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight. And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment.”
I John 3:22-23
“And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask anything according to his will, he heareth us: And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.”
I John 5:14-15

RE: Should I Continue To Go To This Church

Kitty:

The most important thing to remember is that the church is not any physical building. It is the body of Christians who adhere to Christ.

Mat 12:6 But I say unto you, That in this place is greater than the temple.

Mat 21:12 And Jesus went into the temple of God, and cast out all them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves,

Mat 21:13 And said unto them, It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves.

1Cr 3:16 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?

1Cr 3:17 If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which ye are.

The Word of God is the food of the church. When you have any difficulty understanding the Word you simply pray for intercession by the Holy Spirit. When you read the Bible and it does not make sense or its meaning is obscured it is because you are out of touch with the Holy Spirit. Just take a few moments and reconnect. Reading the Bible without the Holy Spirit is like a Chinese person reading an Aramaic manuscript. Useless.
The purpose of any physical church on earth is one purpose alone. Fellowship.

“Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth, and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will give him a stone? Or if he ask a fish, will give him a serpent? If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?”
Matthew 7:7-11
“And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you. For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? Or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent? Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion? If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?”
Luke 11:9-13
“Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.”
Matthew 18:19
“And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.”
Matthew 21:22
“But I know, that even now, whatsoever thou wilt ask of God, God will give it thee.”
John 11:22
“And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.”
John 14:13-14
“Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.”
John 15:16
“If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.”
John 15:7
“If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord. A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.”
James 1:5-8

RE: Should I Continue To Go To This Church

Rev 22:18 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:

Rev 22:19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and the things which are written in this book.

Rev 22:20 He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.

Rev 22:21 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ with you all. Amen.

It appears that the Mormons have added not merely a few words but an entire book to the Word.

RE: Should I Continue To Go To This Church

God moves in response to the united and personal prayer of those that believe in Jesus Christ.
"The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working."
James 5:16 (ESV)
A good Christian church will recognize the power of prayer and will often practice this discipline during services.

The glory of God is the motive of the church's ministry.
"So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God."
1 Corinthians 10:31 (ESV)
According to the Bible the chief end of any Christian, and any Christian church, is to glorify God. Make sure that the church you choose desires to please and bring glory to God.

RE: Should I Continue To Go To This Church

Attributes of a Good Church
While considering a church, it is a good idea to make sure the beliefs of the church agree with what the Bible teaches. A few beliefs to make sure a church has are expounded on below. You can usually find out a church's beliefs by visiting their Web site.

The Bible is unerring and infallible.
"All Scripture is breathed out by God…"
2 Timothy 3:16 (ESV)
Believing that the Bible is unerring and infallible simply means that it is true. It does not contain false teachings and it is consistent in its doctrine. Simply put, the Bible is God's Word. This is a fundamental belief of a good Christian church.

The Bible is the guide for all faith and practice.
"…and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be competent, equipped for every good work."
2 Timothy 3:16-17 (ESV)
A good church should base its actions, ministries and policies on the Bible and its teachings. It is the guidebook, if you will, for leading a God-honouring life and operating a God-honouring church.

God has called each Christian to share the Bible and God's teachings (evangelize).
"Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age."
Matthew 28:19-20 (ESV)
Every person claiming to be a believer, or Christian, is called to share his or her faith with others. A church that encourages its members to share Jesus Christ with others is a church that recognizes this call.

Where the Bible is clear, a church should be emphatic. Where the Bible is silent, a church must allow people freedom.
"Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom."
2 Corinthians 3:17 (ESV)
"As for the one who is weak in faith, welcome him, but not to quarrel over opinions. One person believes he may eat anything, while the weak person eats only vegetables. Let not the one who eats despise the one who abstains, and let not the one who abstains pass judgement on the one who eats, for God has welcomed him. Who are you to pass judgement on the servant of another? It is before his own master that he stands or falls. And he will be upheld, for the Lord is able to make him stand."
Romans 14:1-4 (ESV)
There are many grey issues and topics in the world today. A church understanding 2 Corinthians 3:17 and Romans 14:1-4 realizes it should proceed with caution prior to taking a definitive stand on a topic in which the Bible is not clear.

Jesus Christ is God in human flesh.
"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God."
John 1:1 (ESV)
Churches that believe the Bible is God's Word and uphold the worthiness of its content will undoubtedly teach that Jesus Christ is God in human flesh. Jesus Christ being God in human flesh is a belief that serves as a cornerstone of Christianity.

All people are eternally lost; salvation is by faith in Jesus Christ alone and is apart from human works.
"For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost."
Luke 19:10 (ESV)
"For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast."
Ephesians 2:8-9 (ESV)
Although a good Christian church will encourage its members to help others, share their faith and practice spiritual disciples, this same church will teach that salvation is by faith alone.

All ministry that is effective must be empowered by the Holy Spirit.
"I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing."
John 15:5 (ESV)
Coating efforts in prayer and asking for God's presence is an essential aspect to the effectiveness of any church ministry.

RE: Weed and Women?

Personally I have nothing against weed.
In my opinion what it does can be gained through healthy meditation and weed is just a 'cheap' way to accomplish this sort of peace without any effort. Cheap by effort rather than any financial concern. Weed impacts the income of users by creating a cost for something which can be had for free. Like paying a psychic to pick lottery numbers for your weekly ticket. Same odds of winning only now it has an additional cost. I do not gamble either so there is two savings in one. JMO

RE: Wow....romance is not dead...

RE: For Men only please Do you like when women wear make-up?

My sweetheart has the best approach for me. 5 minutes in the shower. Brushes her hair and off we go. I do not like make-up at all. The tiniest bit but please no lipstick I will be forced to lick it all off. And it truly tastes like hell.
I do not like blush, eye-shadow.
Mascara can be tolerated but is still not preferred.
Of course if she decides to wear it then I will accept it until I can find a way to get it off.
I even hate anti-perspirant. Deodorant does not stop the natural function of the body and works equally well. Sadly most feminine products in this vein are of the anti-perspirant type and the aluminum is deadly toxic. Besides the effect of stopping glands from functioning.
Make-up is not an issue I will ever press in any positive way.
Natural beauty for me beats anything any make-up artist could ever do.
Nothing more precious than a freshly washed face, the first look from sleepy eyes just waking, and even more after a few days in the forest camping and fishing and bathing in a lake or river.
Now that is the look that carries me back to her arms.smitten

RE: not tall

I am 6'2 inches tall. My sweetheart is 5'8" tall. I would not care if she was shorter or taller. She is perfect just as she is.smitten

RE: if nobody is perfect why we look a perfect person?

Many people try to find someone who can fill all the gaps in their own personality or life. They want completeness but from an outside source rather than from within.
Many people carry a tally of the good they have encountered in life and of the bad. They measure everyone against this to get the most for the least effort.
Many people see faults as flaws rather than the person's individuality. They do not realize that without these characteristics they would never have been drawn to them at all.
Flaws also tend to act as mirrors and most people do not wish to see their worst side reflected back at them so they prefer to seek for someone who is lacking in all of them.
People see with their eyes far too often and not with their hearts. While the eyes are the most developed sense we have, they should never be given reign over the mind or the heart. The rate of divorce in the world will attest to this.hug

RE: Why Americans Or Europeans donot like to be friend of pakistani

Then with roughly 2/3rd the population of the world should you not be looking in your own cultural background for a woman who is more accepting of the ideals of the East? Why the interst in the West? Or at least the open complaint about women from the West not wanting a man from the East?

RE: Why Americans Or Europeans donot like to be friend of pakistani

Of course seeing the beauty of the country or studying the economy can give some great insights but culturally the roles of men and women in your country tend to be very different than they are in the West. I am sure that may work for those who have lived this way for centuries but in the West there is a diverse difference. Women here have freedoms that they will not relinquish easily after having fought so hard to win them.
For instance arranged marriages, while they may work, are not for everyone. In the West if a man says he Loves you and wants to marry you, you are my soulmate, etc... on the first day or letter here on CS he will be assumed to be a scammer. Even if he is not he will almost surely scare away the woman he is trying to get to know. Things are not concrete here as they may be where the cultural norm has been established and protected for so long. Women here do more choosing than men. You are going to have to try to do some study about the nature of women in the West to find any sort of success. Good luck on that one though as the men here have been trying to understand women for as long as we have know they existed and we still haven't much of a clue. Only what little bits they let us in on.

RE: Why Americans Or Europeans donot like to be friend of pakistani

Your question is the answer in itself my friend. You assume that Americans and Europeans do not wish to be friends with Pakistani people because they assume as a whole that the people of Pakistan are terrorists. Yet you are assuming that all Americans and Europeans are assuming this?
I don't think very many people want to establish a new life in a country that is politically in turmoil with a neighbour that is considering nuclear options. Especially when said country is doing the same. Pakistan is not a very large country on a world wide scale and one billion people live there already. Is is even reasonable to assume that anyone from a smaller less dense population would wish to move into such a crowded region?
I do not believe that any ethnic region is inhabited solely by terrorists but as the world events clearly portray these murderers are in every country.
I think the greatest difficulty in establishing such long distance connections is cultural.
I wish you the best of luck. You seem like a nice man.hug

RE: Unconditional Love, Yes or No

Unconditional Love is the only Love that will last all tests of time. The catch is that both individuals must give unconditionally not only to their respective partners but to life on the whole.

“Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.” I John 4:7-8
